What is your opinion on Lazari's age progression chart? Could you create a drawing of it in your own style? I remember Hollowtown doing something similar.
I've been working on this for a bit, and it's finally finished! I didn't fully shade or color the lineart since I feel like this ask has been waiting and rotting in my inbox for wayyyy too long and I just have to get it out the door already.
Six-year-old Lazari was basically just a normal girl with a typical life. She lived in a small house with her mother, attended school, played with her next-door neighbors whenever her mother allowed it, et cetera. The orange dress with pink flowers is an improved version of the dress she had in her flashback on Pg. 8 of the comic.
Ten-year-old Lazari is the Lazari we all currently know and love, the little girl who cares for those around her and is desperate to make others happy. Not much to add about her here.
Now we're getting into the speculative stuff. I'm not confirming or denying anything beyond age ten, so keep in mind that these descriptions may not be entirely accurate. Lazari may not even live this long... unless I will her to.
I imagine teenage Lazari to be the type of girl who would survive until the end of a cliched slasher movie, and not just because she herself is an anomaly. She's extremely reluctant to do "stereotypical teenage things" like smoke or drink or sneak out to go to parties, y'know, the kind of stuff that happens in 90s-2000s films featuring teenage characters. She definitely wouldn't start dating, and would probably just prioritize her friends and her studies. I imagine she snuck out exactly once to attend a house party a friend invited her to, she climbed out a window and fell to the ground, limped over to the party, was convinced to play spin the bottle with a bunch of people she barely knew, and when it was her turn she got so scared she ran all the way home and never did anything so "extreme" again.
She wears all sorts of cute little accessories in her antlers, bows and clips and half of a BFF necklace. I actually really like the look of the super cluttered girly antlers, so maybe I'll incorporate them into her official comic design once her antlers show up...
Forty-seven-year-old Lazari has had enough life experience to finally find her footing in the world. When I imagine a younger adult Lazari (like, maybe around age twenty-six), I imagine her as a graphic designer. But this older Lazari in her forties looks more like she's a hotel manager rather than an artist. I actually really like the idea of Laz running a hotel -- in specific, a "Hotel Transylvania"-esque hotel for anomalies. It would allow her to come full circle and be the one taking in people who need refuge, just like how she was taken in as a child by Slender years and years ago. She wears a crucifix necklace in one antler and her scapular in the other, because her affinity for putting random shit on her antlers for the sake of aura has not died, even after reaching middle-age.
I think I've said this before a couple of times, but Zalgo's children (zalgadites, NOT zalgoids -- zalgoids are a different kind of being all together) cannot die unless they are directly killed by something. Their lifespans are indefinite and can last as long as eternity if they are able to take care of themselves. A one hundred and ninety-eight year old Lazari is still very young compared to other zalgadites, with the oldest of her half-siblings having lived up to two thousand years old.
As zalgadites age, they begin to look more and more like their father. At some point, they become perfectly identical to hime, barring a few minor differences like size.
Illustrating Lazari looking as similar to her father as possible would be difficult, so instead I drew her to look like my earliest illustrations of Zalgo, from when the comic was first being planned. A huge mouth-eye thing with smaller eyes inside and big teeth with tongues sticking out. I never posted those early drawings, but maybe I will...eventually.
I might make another version of this one day, but for now this is my take on Lazari's age progression.
