Well, we hit a milestone today.
Which is super exciting!
But also I'm not even halfway finished with the first draft, so we'll be editing this chonky baby with a chainsaw.

This part of writing where I'm dying to talk to people about it but also I really shouldn't talk about it too much SUCKS. I love the writing and I love the editing but goddamn, it's lonely when it's original fic 😭
Not gonna lie, this feels pretty hecking awesome.
My goal was 20k and I made it! Slowly but surely, it's coming together.
Normally, I would let the characters run amuck for a while to see where they want to go.
Apparently where they wanted to go was therapy, which we simply cannot have on the cusp of act two.
Sorry, kids, back on the outline. Can't have you wandering around well adjusted, it's bad for the narrative.
*seductively* doomed by the narrative all by yourself, handsome?
*reveals traits that foil yours* Not for long.
My first draft now includes two masturbation scenes, which is twice as many as I originally planned.
Glad to see my fanfic roots are still solid and incredibly thirsty.
If you’re reading this: this is your sign that your WIP is worth writing, is worth the effort, and that you are doing great. Keep going, take breaks, reflect. But do not lose sight of how far you’ve come on this project! You can do it!
wanna write twelve things at once and i couldn't decide what so. reading instead 😌
This outline is more than 4500 words and I'm only to the midpoint 😳
Also it's not the book I'm "supposed" to be working on. So this tracks.
😑
Two more hours till the second round prompts come out!
For like two months now, I’ve written down the goal of setting up an Instagram and TikTok account to start figuring those platforms out. I really, really don’t want to. But I know I’ll regret it in the long run if I don’t.
Starting to think I need a burner phone that doesn’t have an active number, just wifi so I don’t end up with these time-suck apps on my regular phone. Tumblr is bad enough 😂 Plus it’s hard to switch between my accounts.
I’ve entered a writing competition. It’s “microfiction” (aka, double drabbles). I haven’t done a writing competition since high school, so we’ll see how this goes.
The results were just announced...
I’M GOING TO ROUND 2!!
“Love is a sacrament that should be taken kneeling”
—Oscar Wilde
Oscar Wilde WAS gay and he DID suck dicks but “love is a sacrament that should be taken kneeling” is not about oral sex. It is not even erotic.
Here’s the rest of the quote. It’s from De Profundis:
“Most people live for love and admiration. But it is by love and admiration that we should live. If any love is shown us we should recognise that we are quite unworthy of it. Nobody is worthy to be loved. The fact that God loves man shows us that in the divine order of ideal things it is written that eternal love is to be given to what is eternally unworthy. Or if that phrase seems to be a bitter one to bear, let us say that everyone is worthy of love, except him who thinks that he is. Love is a sacrament that should be taken kneeling, and Domine, non sum dignus should be on the lips and in the hearts of those who receive it.”
media doesnt exist to teach you moral lessons it exists so you can learn about a fucked up guy in a fucked up situation and go "woah thats so fucked up"
I don’t think we need to be so serious about writing all the time. I think sometimes people want to write just for the hell of it and that’s ok
like it is not always about being the best of the most original. sometimes it’s just for fun
...And ideally as much of the time as possible. What you don’t (at least at some level) enjoy writing, your audience isn’t very likely to enjoy reading.
Please yourself first. Then worry about your fellow passengers. :)
