Fabian Blondel presents his own composition for guitar (the original version was written in 2008). The famous Spanish composer Fernando Sor and more contemporary composers such as Benjamin Britten served as inspiration in creating the piece. As suggested by the title, the character of this piece is a little lighthearted and comical, but also agile and lively with melodic effectualness. Title: Scherzo Melodico (in G-Major).

Miles (1868 – 1946) was an American songwriter who had also worked as a pharmacist, editor, and manager. According to Miles' great-granddaughter, the song was written in a cold, dreary, and leaky New Jersey basement. This title deals with the personal encounter with God in prayer.

The Lore-Ley or song of the Loreley is a poem by Heinrich Heine from 1824, which has the legendary story of the Loreley, the beautiful maiden leading to the demise of ships with her singing, as its subject. It was spread primarily with the melody composed by Friedrich Silcher in 1837, which is considered an expression of Rhine Romanticism. In the poem, some see Heine's confrontation with Romanticism. He used motifs and means of representation from Romanticism and folksong to ironize them (through accumulation and exaggeration, also through exaggerated pathos) and in this way to distance himself. The combination of vanity, seductiveness and transience points to the revival of vanitas motifs in Romanticism.

My version of this beautiful piece dedicated to the Holy Virgin in a prayer in the Latin language called "Ave Maria". This particular setting of the key (E♭-Major) is significantly deeper than the standard which most often seems to be in C-Major. Ave Maria, gratia plena, Dominus tecum; benedicta tu in mulieribus, et benedictus fructus ventris tui, Iesus. Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, ora pro nobis peccatoribus nunc et in hora mortis nostrae. Amen. Also, not related to the particular piece, but to the Virgin Mary Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Father, send now Your Spirit over the earth. Let the Holy Spirit live in the hearts of all nations, that they may be preserved from degeneration, disaster and war. May the Lady of All Nations, who once was Mary, be our Advocate. Amen.
