I admit I am curious

What is it like having eternatus as a partner pokemon ?

My feelings about the whole thing are complicated… This is the Pokémon that (unintentionally) put me in the hospital. Eternatus becoming part of the team has required a lot of growth on my part.

I’m happy that I’ve been able to overcome my fears but I’m ecstatic to watch Eternatus learn to harness its own power in safe and controlled way but also to live among other Pokémon and make companions after what may have been thousands of years of suffering alone.

I appreciate the compliment, but Sygna suits are worn to form a closer bond with your partner Pokémon! I’m glad people seem to enjoy how mine looks though!

do you have any good tips for beginning trainers?

You need to learn about your Pokémon as friends and partners in battle! I promise that knowing and trusting each other will make a huge difference!

Also study up on all Pokemon, not just the ones on your team. Having a good knowledge of what might happen in any given battle helps you prepare beforehand.

You were the cutest baby and everyone is just going to have to take my word for it. I know I tell you this every day but I’m so proud of you and I can’t wait until I visit tonight!

Do you have any plans for your birthday?

Not at the moment, no.

It really snuck up on me this year but I haven’t done anything super big for my birthday since I was a kid. We normally just have a dinner together and we call it a night ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Glo’s much more of a party gal and she’s got it good because her birthday’s on Halloween. My birthday’s just so close to Christmas. Plus my birthday and Christmas gives tend to combine haha

The choice has been made. Shun and I will train at the Tower of Darkness.

Part of the reason is because we feel it’ll match our battle style better. Part of it is that while I already have a Water Pokémon in Withypoll, I don’t have any Dark Pokémon, and I’d like to branch out.

In other news, rehabilitation with Eternatus is going really well! I’ve started considering nickname ideas for them.

All this talk about the Isle is really tempting me to return and finally let Kubfu evolve. I know he’s a little sore with me for getting too lost to evolve himbo my first trip.

Also, keep me updated on Eternatus. I know they went through a lot and seeing them improve really makes me happy.

Arceus mate, that’s harsh. I wouldn’t say utterly destroyed hahaha

Uh, I mean it didn’t feel great. I don’t know what answer you’re expecting. Losing is all apart of battling! And if I’m being honest, I didn’t have too much of an issue losing to Glo so much as an issue with ruining Lee’s reputation by losing so often

Losing sucks but a great trainer knows you can learn from every battle, losing is no exception :)

I know you already know how I feel about this, but I’m going to say it again and again until everyone understands that I am proud to call you my little brother. Even when you lose I see you come back stronger, and that just speaks to your own resilience. I am honored to have my name associated with yours, Hop. I hope you don’t spend too much time worrying about what others think about you, because I’ve been there before. You need to remember that the ones who matter most are the ones who recognize you for all your strength, kindness, and intelligence.

It’s late and I’m feeling a little sappy, but my point still stands. I love being known as future Professor Hop’s big brother :)

I remember back in unova there was no rules with how long weather lasts for. So trainers used pokemon that were breed to have never ending weather ablities. A whole wars was waged in unova because of that oversite. Anyways there no need to explain the entire history of the weather wars to ask my question. Do you think you would be able to beat raihan if he had access to unending weather pokemon?

That’s all very interesting and I’m glad you brought it up! Raihan is a bit of a history buff, so if he doesn’t know this already he’d love if I shared this with him.I

If Raihan could keep his weather effects going on for an indefinite amount of time, I would struggle a bit more in our battles, but with enough time to prepare I think I could still take him.

What do you think your life would’ve been like if you hadn’t become champion?

I’m not sure... I would have had a lot more time to be a kid, but there are a lot of amazing opportunities that being champion brought me and my family. I’d like to think that things happened for a reason and I’m better off with the way things turned out.

What would you do if Gloria wanted to give up being Champion and wanted you to take over? Like maybe she gets sick of the media or something

If she wanted to stop being Champion I would completely respect that decision, but I wouldn’t want to be the one to take up the Champion position again.

We would have to hold another tournament to choose a new champ!

Did you throw your match against Champion Gloria? How about your match against her in the Battle Tower? I find it hard to believe she legitimately swept you there.

I did not throw either of those battles. I have never thrown a battle, and I will never throw a battle.

Do you think raihan will ever beat you in battle?

I hope he does one day! But I’ll never go easy on him. My prediction is that his weather strategy will finally pull through and catch me off guard.

Would you ever want to be the champion of another region?

I think I’m done being a Champion permanently. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed my time as champ, but I missed out on so much because of it and I’d rather catch up with my friends and family then rush off to become champion somewhere else.
