“When are they supposed to wake up again?” Fulgo asks, tucking the blanket she’d confiscated tighter around her legs.
Mico sighs, pushing himself up from the edge of the hospital bed Bou lays in. “Sometime soon.”
Fulgo wipes the crust and salt from the corners of her eyes. “Alright.”
The silence lays prose and heavy in the to bright, sterile room for a moment before mic breaks it.
Fulgo groans dramatically tilting her head back and sliding down the chair. “I mean, I tried. I was sorta distracted though. I think I did okay.”
“Thats good.” Mico nods his head.
“I'd be pretty surprised if you didnt get at least a B-.” Bou smiled propping themselves up with an elbow and a wince before attempting to shimmy into an upwards position.
Which quickly proves futile.
Fulgo moves first, lunging at Bou to squish it right back down to the bed with a hug. Tears built in Fulgo’s eyes as she embraced Bou, Mico quickly joining.
“You're awake!!!" She exclaims waterily as Mico subtly hits the call button.
“Yes, I'm awake! I've never slept before. Can solidly say I don't like it.” boy says, a mirthy smile on their face as they hug Fulgo tightly.
Realizing they only have one of the two siblings in their grasp; they shoot an arm out and grab Mico by the back of his hoodie. Containing him within their arms as well.
“So, how exactly am I in a hospital?” Bou asked, still holding the siblings close.
Mico attempt to pull back to look at bou wile they spoke before giving up. They were STRONG. “I'm surprised you know it's a hospital. The doctors thought you'd be pretty out of it when you woke up.”
“Oh I was. For like, a minute. I used context clues to figure it out.” Bou said smugly, rubbing their chin into Fulgo’s head.
“Ppf- you would do that.” Fulgo smiled.
“Bee helped out! Forged adoption papers for you.” Mico concluded.
Bou chuckled a bit “Oh that's smart. If I had been lucid I probably could have forged my own birth certificate…”
“Yeah…” Mico trailed off just as the nurse entered the room.
