Night drive. (with a group of colleagues)
It was a quiet night—well, almost to be exact. Nothing other than the sound of the DJ from the radio filled the silence in the car. Everyone was asleep, except for ENFJ and INFP which both had their eyes wide open. ENFJ was the one driving, while INFP was at the backseat right behind him, having herself almost squished by people from both of her sides.
INFP couldn’t sleep like the others because of her messed-up sleep schedule, or at least, that’s what she wanted to believe. If she was being more frank with herself, she actually never even took a nap whenever ENFJ’s the driver.
ENFJ drove the car with care, since it’s not his car to begin with. A rental car with the charge of $4 per hour. Whenever his friends invited him for a hangout, they would rent a car for at least 5 hours. They were still in freshman year, so no student cars were allowed. He would always be the driver because only a few of them had driver’s license.
INFP silently admired how good he was at handling it. No words came out of ENFJ’s mouth, as if he took that as everyone was asleep. ENFJ had always been the loudest among others, that INFP almost felt like she was being around someone else—someone that rarely showed up when everybody else was present. Nevertheless, she was at peace.
ENFJ’s eyes never left the road, his focus had a limit—he’s only capable of focusing at only one thing at a time. He could feel a presence behind him, which feels quite familiar. He couldn’t really see who was the one yet to sleep because of the occupying darkness. It’s a bit odd how he actually enjoyed the company. At least, he wasn’t alone.
The radio suddenly played a hit song, which was the least bad song in INFP’s preference of music. As always, she got a little bit too into it. As if the music was INFP’s ‘energy’ switch, she closen up to the driver’s seat and put her chin onto it. She sang along to the song passionately, almost forgetting her insecurities.
The air coming from INFP’s lips touched ENFJ’s neck, which sent shivers down his spine. He could have sworn that he almost did not make a turn when he was really supposed to but fortunately, luck was always on his side. Now that he knew who was the familiar figure behind him, he felt nervous but calm—which were two very different feelings. Nervous of how close INFP was, at the same time, calm because of her voice shoved away the loneliness he felt earlier.
ENFJ knew the song, but he didn’t memorize the lyrics. He’s the type that could listen to every songs regardless of what genre. At the chorus, his voice finally escape from his lips. INFP slowly shut her mouth as she heard him singing at the chorus. She was shocked that ENFJ would actually sing along. She thought he would gave her a silent treatment.
A smile formed on INFP’s lips. She continued to sing to the lyrics along with ENFJ. He kept being stuck at other parts of the song but he didn’t miss the chorus part. INFP can’t help but had her heart scream on how cute ENFJ was struggling with the chorus part. He smiled to himself. Their voice were in unison.
Show her some love!
