ITS OUT YOU GUYS
So when I was a kid we did this thing, every time we drove passed a cemetery we would hold our breath in case a ghost came and tried to possess us or some shit.
Now when we drive passed a cemetery, I start to hyperventilate, hoping to god something comes and possesses me because I don’t know what I’m doing and need something with a possibly eon-old mentality to take the fuckin wheel.

Pandora
Points on the paper
•her hair is the natural sunbleached ombré of a northern nord
•red battle tattoos symbolize her lower warrior ranking. She was part of the more vigorously trained and meant for the front lines
• the animal tattooed on her arm is an image of a Klorna, a big cat species found in the highlands, a very fierce creature. This tattoo also symbolizes her wing in the regiment. •it is Zhalabar tradition to wear to the the glove of ones master of the master was terminated in a battle.
• all Zhalabar wear short black and green kilts, and they all make their own weaponry
• Pandora’s blue eyes are a traitor of mixed blood, since pure nords only have brown and green eyes.
• although not often used, the braid off ones left side of the head is a universal sign to let other know that the wearer is not interested in a significant other. The meaning changes further south, however, to signify one’s sexual orientation. Overall, the braid is worn to keep unwanted courters away.
Here is Pandora, a character to The Legend that was not introduced in the short story.
She is a warrior woman from the Zhalabar tribe, which was a tribe of noble and battle ready nords. These people trained for war their whole lives, it being part of their religion. Story goes, the founder of the tribe formed it on the strong belief that the world was going to end, and soon demons would rise and attack. He gathered people to prepare for the impending “underrealm and overrealm war”. That was 2,000 years before The Legend of Nym takes place. While their prophecy never came to pass, they did fall victim to a tragic Dragon Raid. The few that survived decided to disband the tribe and go off on their own, but they will forever have their homelands in their hearts.
One of the few survivors was Pandora. In the raid she lost everything, and has chosen to start a new. When she is wandering the country, she comes across Nym and his trio gains a member.
As a character, Pandora is quiet and serious, giving off the vibe of a brute with no brain, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. While she does lack the experience to have wisdom, Pandora is easily one of the most intelligent of the crew. She always makes decisions based on her logical thinking, and rarely takes action based on raw emotion. She has the mind of a battle strategist, always finding the best course to take, be it in an actual battle, or when she is trying to get Nym to cooperate (he is a very sassy young man). She is also quite the forester, and knows a whole bunch of extremely useful survival skills that the other three just don’t. And when something pops up that she doesn’t know how to do, she learns it. And quickly too.
Pandora is also one of the characters in the group who doesn’t use magic. She thinks that when a non-magic born learns the craft, it’s a form of cheating. She is very big on “everybody has a fixed fate” and stuff like that, therefore making her rare spiritual rants either very annoying or very inspiring.
She also has a heavy accent, so heavy in fact that when the trio first meets her, they misunderstand her and it almost leads to a (very onesided) fight.
Sacha and Brehnon Horses
Had time to sketch a little today. Here is Zeph and another character named Sacha. She hasn’t been introduced in the story yet, but she is a halfling (half Brehnon half regular horse). While she does not have the ability to speak Nordic or elvish (or any other comprehensible humanic languages) she can understand it. She is very intelligent and full of spunky personality. She also retained some healing magic from her Brehnon blood.
I’ll also take this time to explain how the Brehnon race is regarded throughout the lands of Coiyia.
Brehnon horses are not very common anywhere that’s not in an elvish land. The further north you go, the more sparse in numbers they are. While they are not necessarily considered a “people” or civilization, they are acknowledged as intelligent beings, like dragons and unicorns are. In elvish religion, a prominent figure known as The Guide was a Brehnon horse. The Guide’s role was to lead Aultosh (basically elven Jesus) along her godly quest to liberate the Elves from Sairith reign (Sairiths were an ancient race that have long since mysteriously disappeared). Needless to say, Brehnons are very highly regarded by the elves. Traditional families even go as far as to ‘bond’ their children with a Brehnon foal. This happens once the elvish child has reached the age of 15 years (be mindful that Elves have very elongated lives, the equivillant in human age would be about 5-6). Once the bond is struck, the Brehnon and the Elf are companions for life.
Elven law strictly states that Brehnons are not to be used as battle mounts, and to ride an unwilling Brehnon is punishable by execution. These beings are very highly respected by the Elven lands. It is not uncommon in southern cities to see open street taverns that invite traveling Brehnons for some food and drink. Most southern travel ships are constructed with cabins designed to harbor Brehnons, and even the doorways to buildings are made big enough and easy enough for the big creatures to maneuver through.
However, the farther north in the lands, the more Brehnon horses become mere fairytale. The average Nordic farmers from the far northern mountains may have only heard of such creatures in stories their mothers once told to urge them to sleep. Imagine how their surprise might be if a traveling Brehnon walks into town and asks for directions. The north does not have any accommodations to suit the Brehnons, this and the fact that they are simply regarded as normal horses by northern people’s. Until they start talking of course. And don’t get me wrong, these creatures are very humble and kind, they generally don’t think they are above any other living being, but I don’t think you would like it if someone decided to lock you up in a barn and pretend like you weren’t on the same intellectual level.
That being said, Brehnons can commune with ordinary horses, and while cross breeding is pretty rare, it does happen. Unfortunately, 95% of foals born due to cross breeding perish. This happens because there is a high conflict in mental and magical ability. And while their magical attributes focus on healing, the power alone is enough to cause a normal horses brain to fail. It is considered a miracle if a halfling is successfully bred, and survives into maturity, but they will always have some sort of handicap, such as Sacha here, who cannot speak.
I think that concludes now what I have to say about Brehnon horses. There’s probably a lot I’m not saying but more will be posted in the days to come. Thank you for reading.
Fandom:
Adults: *create a space for other adults*
Minors*: *come into that space*
Minors: this isn’t a safe space for kids!!
Adults: …..uhh no, it’s not.
Minors: why are you personally attacking me personally?
Adults: ….????????…………
Minors: I know you want to fuck children
Me: *looks at fic with one character that’s in his 40′s and another that’s in his 50′s, with no children in sight*
Me: ………please get out of my house
(I still get a lot of responses to this post calling me a pedo and I am t i r e d of this bottom-of-the-barrel quality discourse)
* this obviously doesn’t apply to all minors, and to all those minors (like me, when I was your age!) that manage to enjoy and participate in fandom without calling everyone a pedophile, I appreciate you.
Adults: we want to write/draw porn of these fictional adult characters.
Minors: that’s not appropriate for children.
Adults: yep! that’s why it’s tagged as explicit and has a warning for mature content and also is tagged for various sex acts in case you’re not into that.
Minors: that type of content makes me uncomfortable.
Adults: we totally get that but that’s why the tags and warnings are on it.
Adults: look you even have to agree:
This work could have adult content. If you proceed you have agreed that you are willing to see such content.
Adults: so if you’re not into that type of thing then you can just skip over it.
Minors: it make me uncomfortable.
Adults: ……then… don’t… read it?
Minors: no.
Minors: you should stop writing it.
Adults: no.
JUST FUCKING SAYING
Fandom as a whole is not “minor-friendly”
Nor should it be.
If you want to live in a “Children of the Corn”-style bubble of innocence and purity, well, to me, that’s a startling approach to adolescence, but every generation’s got to find its own way to reject the one before, so: do as you will. But you can’t bring the bubble to the party, kids. Fandom, established media-style fandom, was by and for adults before some of your parents were born now. You don’t get to show up and demand that everyone suddenly change their ways because you’re a minor and you want to enjoy the benefits of adult creative activity without the bits that make you uncomfortable. If you think you’re old enough to be roaming the Internet unsupervised, then you also think you’re old enough to be working out your limits by experience, like everybody else, like I did when I was underage and lying about it online. If you’re not old enough to be roaming the Internet unsupervised and you’re doing it anyway, then that’s on your parents, not on fandom.
If you were only reading fic rated G on AO3, if you had the various safe modes on other media enabled, you would be encountering very little disturbing material, anyway (at least in the crude way people tend to define “disturbing” these days; some of the most frankly horrifying art I have ever engaged with would have been rated PG at most under present systems, but none of that kind of work ever seems to draw your protests). In the end, what you really want is to be able to seek out the edges of your little world, but be able to blame other people when you don’t like what you find. Sorry. Adolescence is when you get to stop expecting others to pad your world for you and start experiencing the actual consequences of the risks you take, including feeling appalled and revolted at what other people think and feel.
Now, ironically, fandom’s actually a fairly good place for such risk-taking, as, for the most part, you control whether you engage and you can choose the level of your engagement. You can leave a site, blacklist something, stop reading an author, walk away from your computer. Are there actual people (as opposed to works of art, which cannot engage with you unless you engage with them) who will take advantage of you in fandom? Of course there are. Unfortunately, such people are everywhere. They will be there however “innocent” and “wholesome” the environment appears to be, superficially. That’s evil for you. There are abusers in elementary school. There are abusers in scout troops. There are abusers in houses of worship. Shutting down adult creative activity because you happen to be in the vicinity isn’t going to change any of that. It may help you avoid some of those icky feelings that you get when you think about sex (and you live in a rape culture, those feelings are actually understandable, even if your coping techniques are terrible), but no one, except maybe your parents, has a moral imperative to help you avoid those.
In the end, you’re not my kid and you’re not my intended audience. I’m under no obligation to imagine only healthy, wholesome relationships between people for your benefit. Until you’re old enough to understand that the world is not exclusively made up of people whose responsibility it is to protect you from your own decisions, yes, you’re too young for established media fandom. Fandom shouldn’t be “friendly” to you.
So this whole minors-in-fandom seems to be the big hot button topic right now, and this post pretty much sums up everything I have to say about the issue. But after reading this post, I had an epiphany while cooking dinner. While I usually don’t jump into The Discourse myself, I needed to share my discovery. So a few years ago I read this excellent article “The Overprotected Kid” - if you haven’t read it, go do it. Now. Seriously. It’s ostensibly about “millennials” but it’s talking mostly about kids that were 5-15 at the time the article was written, i.e. kids who are 8-18ish now. So, basically, this entire white-knight age group of kid crusaders.
Basically, all of this boils down to a generational divide on how we were raised. Like, I could have told you that, but. Really. Basically every line in this article is solid gold, and completely explains the phenomenon we’re embroiled in right now. The article specifically talks about how playing in “dangerous” playgrounds helps children mature and learn how to safely take risks. Well, fandom has long been called a sandbox for a reason, and the parallels are so close it’s bizarre.
Like, navigating your way through fandom spaces that have explicit content or disturbing themes?
“The idea was that kids should face what to them seem like “really dangerous risks” and then conquer them alone. That, she said, is what builds self-confidence and courage.”
Or
“At the core of the safety obsession is a view of children that is the exact opposite of Lady Allen’s, “an idea that children are too fragile or unintelligent to assess the risk of any given situation,” argues Tim Gill, the author of No Fear, a critique of our risk-averse society. “Now our working assumption is that children cannot be trusted to find their way around tricky physical or social and emotional situations.”
Or
Even today, growing up is a process of managing fears and learning to arrive at sound decisions. By engaging in risky play, children are effectively subjecting themselves to a form of exposure therapy, in which they force themselves to do the thing they’re afraid of in order to overcome their fear. But if they never go through that process, the fear can turn into a phobia.
Basically, the problem is this: the 14 and 15 and 16 year-olds on this sight have been, largely, helicopter-parented for every moment of every day of their lives. Many of them have never had to take care of themselves, or navigate difficult emotional situations without parental guidance. When I was a kid, the internet was the wild west, and parents universally told us that everyone on the internet was a pedophile who wanted to kill you, so you had to keep yourself safe. Now, kids always expect there to be a parent there to take care of their emotional needs, and when they go onto online spaces, the just assume that the nearest adult will fill in that role for them, whether that adult is interested or not.
Now, kids are out here saying shit like “i dont know how you dont know that as an adult its your responsibility to maintain a safe environment for children, just as much as it is their parents. for ex not swearing around kids or letting teenagers drink alcohol like every adult knows that.. “
I am not your mother. It’s not my responsibility to ensure that there isn’t underaged drinking. If I walk past a couple of teenagers drinking beers on the street, do you know what I’m going to do about it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing, because I don’t care and I’m not their mother, and I’m not your mother either. I’ll watch my mouth if I notice that there’s a kid near me, but that doesn’t mean I don’t swear in public, even if there could be kids around me that I haven’t noticed.
This expectation, that every adult is there to monitor you and watch out for you, and if they aren’t willing to do that then they’re a bad person?
“in all my years as a parent, I’ve mostly met children who take it for granted that they are always being watched.”
Or how about this chilling factoid?
“When my daughter was about 10, my husband suddenly realized that in her whole life, she had probably not spent more than 10 minutes unsupervised by an adult. Not 10 minutes in 10 years.”
These are the kids on here shouting “I need an adult!” and then getting offended when no adult rushes in to take care. It’s baffling to me, honestly, but. I didn’t grow up this way. My parents taught me how to make good decisions, take care of myself, and navigate difficult situations, both in the “real” world AND online. I… don’t really know what to say to kids whose parents didn’t.
I’m not your mom. If I want kids, I’ll have my own. And I won’t raise them the way your parents raised you.
URGENT: Please help me buy groceries and keep my lights on this month!!
**PLEASE READ/SIGNAL BOOST**
Hey guys, I’m really so horribly sorry to have to remake this dumb post and even though I got a lot of notes on my last one, I’m still really struggling to get groceries and keeping my heating/lights on
Long story short, I’m currently on benefits (U.C) as my mental illnesses prevent me from working and just before Christmas I had to attend a WCA (Work Capability Assessment) and my benefit was sanctioned and reassessed due to my mental illnesses. Due to the reassessment, the benefit payment that I received on (Feb 28th) was just under £200, which wasn’t a lot to live on as I had to pay my rent, council tax, and some incredibly overdue bills from the previous month and I only have £7.38 left of my benefit after that. And that £7 is to somehow get me groceries for March and pay my electricity/gas meters.
Unfortunately, it snowing again (pictured) thanks to Storm Emma and it doesn’t seem to be letting up anytime soon. It’s -4°C here and absolutely freezing in my home but thankfully some generous people have helped me keep my gas on for another two-three weeks but, I still desperately need help to keep my lights on and buy groceries for March.
This has been a hell of a past few months for me and I really hate having to make these posts but until I can appeal my WCA (which can take 4 - 6 weeks) I really need help to keep my lights/heating on and buy groceries.
I also understand that everyone is struggling and tired of these post’s but even just £1/$1 makes such a difference. And if you don’t agree with this post or “e-begging” please don’t comment/send hate, just ignore this and be kind.
Thank you 🙏💖💖

Hey, guys so this is just a continuation (evidence) of this post which contains all the information about my situation. Basically, above is pictures of my meters which are both on their emergency credit and will probably last another day, if I keep my lights and heating off, but they definitely won’t last until the end of February when I get my next benefit payment. If my electricity goes out, then the small amounts of food I have managed to get will go bad, making my situation even worse.
