Joe had been spending a lot of time in the training gym ever since classes had started. It was weird to be in his dorm around a couple and he wasn’t comfortable wandering around. Honestly, the only thing that felt right to him was moving. He had never realized just how much he didn’t like to stand still and how alert he was when he had to be, or even when he didn’t have to be. It was how Joseph recognized that somebody had entered the same room he was in. The male didn’t bother checking to see who it was, he’d know if they tried to attack him for some reason, but he grunted out, “I’ll be done in a minute,” assuming they wanted to use the room. A minute later, he set down the fake knife he had been messing with and grabbed a towel to wipe his face. “Sorry bout that, didn’t mean to hog the room.” @hqacademia
Until very recently, Ezra had considered himself very very good at not running into people. Years of meekness, ducking out of people’s path, melting into shadows in order to be cast over, forgotten - he was great at it when he was trying to be. And, typically, even when he wasn’t trying to be, people’s eyes passed right over him. So, as he silently set himself up in the far corner of the quiet room, he froze when the stranger acknowledged his presence. “What?,” he mumbled, setting his bag down quietly. “I, um, no - you’re not bothering me,” Ezra said, pushing his hair back out of his face. “’m just glad y’didn’t catch me singing my heart out to some Stevie Nicks,” he admitted. Stupid, stupid.... What kind of loser said they sang along to Stevie Nicks? “But better that than me dancing, I guess.” Why won’t you shut up?
