juno steel and hyperion city. bloody, broken, violent, uncouth, hopeless. so dearly loved. and trying hard to be better every single day.
juno loves hyperion, and he hates hyperion. it is his home and it is slowly crushing the life out of him. he stubbornly refuses to leave it because he needs to believe he can change it for the better, and because he believes he doesn't deserve anywhere better. to reinvent himself as a better, healthier person he must leave it behind, with no real hope of returning, without looking back; and at the very end of the story it is the place he at last returns to, both still messy and damaged, but filled with new certainty and hope of a better future.
a detective and his city.
