It’s with a heavy heart that I must ask for assistance on behalf of my family.

During the last few months my father lost his job and has struggled to make ends meet. I’ve helped as much as I can but now they are at risk of losing everything, including their home.

I’m not going to beg, as their financial troubles are not yours. However any help is greatly appreciated. Those that know me know that I am an artist, and I am willing to draw something in return for any donation whatsoever.

I know you probably get these asks a lot, but I've really been trying to try drawing comic pages. I really admire how free and flowing your style is! I've seen your little tutorials and tips and idk what's wrong but I just can't seem to wrap my head around panel composition? Like I do wonderful painting comps, but I can't seem to break out. Do you have any resources or help to get started?

Friendly reminder that GIMP does pretty much everything Photoshop does, and it’s 100% free. Fuck DRM and the license culture, we have plenty of open source options available to us as a consumer.

Lightworks is a freeware video editor on par with Premiere

Blender is an excellent freeware 3D renderer,possibly better than After Effects

Lightzone to replace Lightroom

Inkscape to replace Illustratr

Audacity to replace Audition (I also received a free version of Pro Tools with my Scarlett Solo audio interface)

If Adobe is going to be greedy shitheads, then fuck ‘em. Don’t use their stuff. Freeware can be just as good, if not better, than Adobe CC.

GIMP is so bad though. Figuring out how to do literally anything takes hours, because it’s that stereotypical freeware where each function was built by a different person as they needed it, with different ideas about intuitive controls, and about eighty percent of them saw user documentation as useless or actively detrimental. (The gatekeeping aspect of open-source, which I presume must be associated somehow with gamer devs, is the worst part of that community bar none.) Is it still the best Photoshop alternative out there? :S

Audio, not graphics: I can throw in a recommendation for Ardour if Audacity doesn’t handle what you need doing. I honestly do know one professional who uses Audacity as their primary DAW, but for the most part, it’s not what you need. Ardour is.

the DS ones: Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, Soulsilver, Black, White, Black 2 and White 2 should work. Different games have different events though (with some overlap). Also the event you get each time you connect to mystery gift is randomized so it might take a while if you want to try and get everything, it will pull up ones you’ve already got sometimes (and you can’t get duplicates)
