A message to people who dislike furbys

It is COMPLETELY fine to not like furbys. I completely understand being unsettled by any kind of robot or animatronic.

But there is a difference between keeping your (completely valid) opinion to yourself and openly bashing others for liking furbys.

I’m going to say it once and I’m hoping I’m never going to have to say it again:

Furbys are not evil. They are not demons. They cannot come alive. They run on batteries. They cannot speak anything except for what they were programmed to say.

To this day I still see people bashing furbys and spreading misinformation. I am so sick of having to tell myself “Pam, don’t do it, don’t interact with them, they’re not going to change and you’re just going to end up hurt.” That ends now. Furby misinformation stops now.

To SO MANY people, furbys are hyperfixations. To SO MANY people, furbys are coping mechanisms (including me).

When you insult someone for liking furbys, you are hurting them. You are hurting us. And that stops now.
