wip intro: a quiet kindness
There is a power in looking at a world that hasn’t been kind to you and saying “I will not be like you.”
Elvenia Roseblood is the last of her family name. At nearly seventeen, she is poised to become the next queen of the Almyst. The only problem is that her stepmother, Moriana Thornbush, will do anything to usurp Elvenia and put one of her own daughters on the throne.
Elvenia is not like the other fae. She is kind and gentle, the way her mother had been. Others are growing tired of the soft and gentle Rosebloods and Moriana knows this so she sets Elvenia a task to prove her dedication to the Almyst.
She must kill the human prince.
Kaven Canmore is the eighteen year old son of the dying king of Rellea. As the king’s only child, if Kaven doesn’t take the throne, it will go to the next of kin – his cousin, Kaige. The only problem is that, according to Rellean law, Kaven must be married in order to become king.
Enter a mysterious blonde who disappears whenever Kaven tries to get close.

I genuinely think most writing advice is bullshit. Do whatever you want.
Only writing advice that really matters:
If it sparks joy, write it.
If you don't write it, who will?
Your writing is amazing because it's yours. Even if there's someone out there who can write it better, they'll never write it like you.
Ok friends, here’s what we’re going to do.
We’re going to stop searching for the magic formula, we’re going to stop getting our heads into a twist about how much work it all is. We’re gonna stop over-complicating all of this.
We are going to be writing for 90 days, trying to get closer to the finish line. We won’t be able to write a 300k wordcount epic in that timeframe but 30k might be doable? No matter what goal you set yourself, make it small and manageable.
I’m giving you two bits of homework and the we’ll start our 90 days journey on the 20st of February.
First homework: I want you to listen to this podcast http://www.howdoyouwrite.net/episodes/259 from minute 1:58 to 18:10 (see? it’s not that long) about how to fast-draft a novel. Because this is what we’re going to do, fast-drafting.
Second homework: Take your storybible, your scrap doc, your story notebook, whatever you have. Envision the beginning, the midpoint, and the ending of your story and write down some notes about it. You can write an outline if you want, but here at the WIP project, we’re not outlining.
See you on the twentieth. Make a post about it, for your own accountability.
