Can we talk about how you could become motion sick while in your wheelchair?

I've been dealing with this since I got it. If I'm pushing myself then within 2-5 minutes I have to stop for fear of throwing up. At this point I can't even roll around my house without pausing for my stomach to settle.

If anyone has tips on how to stop it without medication that works be great. I don't want to have to pop a travel sickness pill every time I want to use my wheelchair.

As a nonbinary trans-man I'm sitting on a shit ton of "girl advice" that I've accumulated from attempting to force myself into the cis-woman box. Also just the shit that comes with growing up in an afab body.

So now I'm just waiting for my partner to transition outwardly so I can get them properly sized for a bra, give them good underwear recommendations, and give them all the little bits and bobs I know. Because right now I've got a storage container full of advice and knowledge that I'm doing nothing with. -_-)

I really wouldn't be surprised if the US does nothing or pushes to do nothing to the Israeli government for it's war crimes and attempted ethic cleansing after the ceasefire. It the US puts in enough sway they might get off with a slap on the wrist.

So I also wouldn't be surprised if the Israeli government waits until people forget and quietly goes right back to what they were doing.

I mean this genocide has been happening for decades and there are still genocides going on in The Congo and Sudan that many haven't heard about. I wouldn't put it past the people in authority that wanted an ETHNIC CLEANSING to try again when the dust settles and people look somewhere else.

Gaza and the Palestinians aren't safe just because a ceasefire is announced. We'll have to keep an eye on this for a bit.

This isn't a sprint. This is a marathon. Genocides don't end easy.

i recently had an allergic reaction to something. It gave me the most intense hives I've ever experienced in my life. The only thing that made it better was a hot shower and immediately slathering myself in hydrocortisone cream. That'd only last for 2 hours and I'd be back to itching. I didn't sleep that night and passed out late into the next day when it finally let up. I have MCAS so it's normal for me to deal with random allergies to one thing or another. It sucked but I wasn't surprised. I've had this since I was a kid. We still don't know what it was this time because we went back throughout the whole day and retried one thing at a time with nothing giving me a reaction.

I had to cancel my plans with my mom that day because I was still itching, tired, uncomfortable, and constantly on the verge of a meltdown from the overstimulation. I couldn't allow her over at my place or go anywhere while I felt like such utter garbage. I still don't feel well. She understood. Like always. She was the one to help with my allergic reactions a kid whether it meant creams and epi-pens, staying up with/without me to make sure I made it though the night, or taking me to the hospital. My dad however...

He left me 6 different voicemails today alone tearing into me for, "using that stupid excuse from childhood." Saying I should be ashamed of myself. Saying I need to stop, "this desperate search for attention." This man that I had blocked for no contact reasons had used a phone he had lying around just to scream at me over the phone just to make me feel bad about this.

He saw the hives. He saw the hospital visits. He even saw the seizures.

But for some reason people like him refuse to see that anyone could have it "that bad."

In my experience, there are always going to be some people that will cover their eyes and ears and scream "LALALALALA" to not hear the truth. It's upsetting and I hate everything about it.

what's aggravating to me is how folks like this truly do not understand how little they know about the range of transmasculine experience. they have no sense that perhaps they DON'T have a full understanding of what it means to be transmasc and the way we are treated. they really believe that they know everything they need to know from what info they've absorbed secondhand. & they'll ignore anyone who points out how wrong they are, or accuse them of being a traitor/manipulated (if transfem) or a (trans)misogynist MRA (if transmasc)

literally the only thing you need to do to realize this isn't accurate is Talking to Transmascs. hell you can talk to transmascs secondhand by reading all of the studies done on anti-transmasc violence. it's just so frustrating seeing people so focused on their own suffering that they have decided that no one else could possibly suffer like they do, and they could never contribute to the equally harmful suffering of others. also 9/10 they're white and will lose their goddamn marbles if a Black transmasc even opens their mouth

We're all trans and hateful bigots want us all dead. It's not just trans women, trans men, or non-binary people. Hell even cis men and women that look a little too feminine or masculine are put in danger by bigotry.

Like the poster above me, I've had my life threatened for being trans before. Multiple times. It's not just looks, snide remarks, and misgenderings. I have been cornered and run out of the men's bathroom by men that towered over me and threatened to end me then removed and banned from a store for using the SINGLE STALL woman's bathroom at an entirely separate store the same day.

Cis or trans. Man, woman, or non-binary. Our struggles aren't something you can water down and strawman.

Whether you identify with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community or not, there is no excuse to act like that.

I'm finally done setting up my bullet journal for the next three months and making my new schedules for my eating, exercise, studying, and free time. I now feel extremely calm and confident in my actions now that I have structure and routine.

Now, it's time to go to bed and immediately forget about or be unable to fulfill any of that in the morning because of my impulsivity.

You are not alive just to be productive. Your life does not consist of work, chores, tasks. Life is meant to be enjoyable, you're meant to have time to cope, to relax, unwind, have hobbies. You're meant to have pleasant time for yourself every day, even if you have other people to look after or work a lot. Burnout is a real thing, your body and brain are not supposed to be stressed like that all day. Try to make space for yourself to meditate, self hypnotize, do muscle relaxation, do Yoga, do breathing exercises, pray and so on. Actively work against a burnout every day because it's so important.

I wish people would stop dismissing how hard it is for autistic people to make friends by saying to just make friends with other autistic people. They act like it's just that easy.

Internalized and expressed ableism, clashing sensory issues, stimming, routines/schedules, and additional disabilities/disorders can put up some hurdles that are hard to deal with or will put us in situations that aren't good for us.

I've had a friend that I couldn't see because their stims would set off tic fits. I've had a friend who couldn't hear me speak because the noises I made sometimes were overstimulating for them and would take most of their spoons for the day. I've had friends where black-and-white thinking meant we couldn't stand to be around each other.

I'm not saying this to discourage anyone. I know this isn't their fault, nor is it mine. We're just not compatible. I just wish it would be acknowledged that "just make friends with autism" isn't the fix that allistics seems to think it is. It's rarely a perfect fit. Just like allistic friendships.

We're not a monolith. Stop treating us like one. Just because a square and a hexagon have corners doesn't mean they're the same shape. Nor does it mean they'll fit in the same hole.

Being a transman is really a damned if you do damned if you don't situation.

Act in a traditionally masculine way, you and other people will question if you're doing it just to fit in and if you're saying that to be a man you must be masculine. That you're engaging in stereotypes and not allowing yourself to experience your gender in a healthy way.

Act outside of the traditionally masculine, you and other people will question if you're actually trans. That you're not letting yourself experience your gender and are stuck in what you were socialized as.

"Pass" well and your woman friends might start treating you differently and with more caution. (I have been kicked out of group chats with friends that were not gender specific because I became the only guy and they were uncomfortable with my presence in those chats. They have a right to their feelings but it sucks.) Or they might think that you shouldn't be in spaces meant for afab bodies. (I had to cut someone off because they berated me for being in r/thegirlsurvivalguide for advice on my pre-T body.)

Don't "pass" well and people will continue treating you like you're a woman.

And no matter what you'll always come across people who will vehemently argue that you're just a confused little girl that they need to save. And oh so much more.

Don't forget the transwoman and nonbinary people because they'll experience the same things in their own way as well as other bullshit.
