How to deal with your last year at Blue Lake
The simple solution, don’t let it be your last year. Get together with some friends from camp and apply to be counselors. You’ll have a blast, and get paid for it. It's even a good thing to put on a resume.
A Letter to Someone I Love
Shh Shh Shh They whisper Hush Hush Hush They snap Quiet Quiet Quiet They hiss I go anywhere And I Am Loud I am loud When I am frustrated I am loud When I am angry But most of all I am loud When I am Happy People get angry People get mad People hate My loudness I cannot help it What seems to me like hardly More than a whisper Is a scream There are few Who understand That it is something I cannot control Those who do I love More Than anyone You are one You are one Who understands Who I love With all my heart This is one reason I truly Really Love you
[whispers] make movie characters accurate to the comics
[states] Make movie characters accurate to the comics.
[yells] Make movie characters ACCURATE to the COMICS!
[Screams from the rooftops] MAKE MOVIE CHARACTERS ACCURATE TO THE COMICS!!!
I understand that people of colour are vastly underrepresented in the media and especially in Hollywood, but when I watch a movie based on COMICS (which don’t just have descriptions, but literal drawings, in colour, of characters) I’m looking for accuracy. I think most people who watch marvel and DC can agree with that. When I see Mary Jane (second row from the top) in the comics I don’t think Zendaya (top right corner), I think more along the lines of Eleanor Tomlinson (top left corner). That would be far more accurate.
What we need are movies based on comics that actually represent characters of colour. I for one, would absolutely love to see a Storm (Big bottom photo) solo movie. Some other amazing heroines of colour who could finally be pushed into the spotlight are Cassandra Cain (Batgirl/Black Bat, third row on the right) who is Asian and White Tiger (third row on the left) who is Latina. These lovely ladies are super cool and really powerful, and they would be an amazing example for young women everywhere. If a director of attempting to relate to people of colour, maybe it’s a better idea to make the movie actually about a person of colour, and not switch the race of a side character in another movie.
Let’s also not forget that Miles Morales was always an option here, an amazing option that they apparently decided against at Marvel. Miles would have been a shining example of a black superhero, and would’ve been an amazing example to children of colour everywhere. There are also tons of fantastic young actors who would’ve been brilliant at the role.
All in all, my two big statements here are that movies based on comics need to be accurate and there need to be more superhero movies starring people of colour.

Blue lake is quite literally the greatest eplace on earth. I’ve made some of my best friends here, and the fact that I won’t see most of them for another year makes me really sad. Long live the Sauce Squad!

To Judge Another is to Judge Oneself
A judgement on another Tells far more about oneself Than the person one is critiquing
Assumptions and judgements are made From a mixture Of swirling emotion
Born of hate Of anger, of jealousy, of discontent Born of the need to stir up trouble
One who judges Judges no one But themselves
In passing judgement One only serves to show Blatant insecurity
That one only looks for flaws in others Because one can only see Their own flaws
The wish to highlight oneself To show one is better Is erased by the method
When one brands themselves a judge One is not seen as better One is seen as cruel

Some people enjoy the decade they were born in, the trends, the technology, the slang. Some though, wish they had been born in another generation. Some put that wish to action. Attempting to copy the generation of their admiration through clothing, hairstyle, and their way of speaking. Why is it that some of us dislike, or even despise, the decade/generation we were born and raised into? Why do we try so hard to distance ourselves from "normal", from the trends and unwritten rules that govern modern society? The decade we wish to inhabit can say a lot about who we are. Each decade seems to have it's own unique feeling, an aura, it's very own culture. We prefer that culture to our own, and we, if we can get past the incessant insecurity of our teenage years, the horrible feeling that we must fit in, will do all we can to make our lives as such.
Some photos from a plane
There are some who like the cities The busy towns With their gridlocked streets And boisterous sounds
But others love the silence Of winding, abandoned roads The whispering of wind through aspens The mountains and meadows
For those who like the cities That’s all good and fine But the sounds and sights of the wilderness Make up a home I can call mine

A message to artists struggling with self portraits: If someone as beautiful and talented as Frida Kahlo can embrace herself enough to portray herself as she is, so can someone as beautiful and talented as you.
