Yennefer thinks Jaskier’s a catty twit (accurately) but also she thinks Geralt has a really good thing going with having his own soundtrack playing for him at all times. she decides to spend a rather large sum hiring Jaskier to follow her around at a few events playing appropriate ominous and/or seductive music
Jaskier think’s Yennefer’s a catty witch (accurately) but a gig’s a gig and he wanted into a couple of those parties anyway so he goes along with it
And it turns out Yennefer’s actually highly entertaining to watch especially when Jaskier lures her into the vicinity of his personal enemies and he gets to watch them damn near piss their pants

whenever someone is like ‘why do burger-flippers deserve to make the same amount as x?’ and i just ask ‘have you considered that maybe x deserves to be paid more?’ because it never occurs to people that if these people are being underpaid, then there is a chance that so are they.
I see this all the time with people bringing up paramedics. “You want 15$ an hour as a burger flipper! I made less than that as an EMT!”
Yeah and it was wrong to pay YOU that little too. You got overworked and underpaid and the amount of money the McDonalds employee in the drive through gets has no bearing what so ever on what an EMT makes. Pay the EMT more too.

Maybe we should talk about how The Witcher starts with Geralt telling Renfri about how even the people he saves/protects are deathly afraid of him and all anyone ever sees in him is a violent, dangerous beast BUT THEN COMES JASKIER who is never afraid of Geralt and, on multiple occasions, legit runs to him for protection because he trusts that the Witcher will keep him safe.
