From the next chapter of two pink lines (because it made me giggle)
Mel is telling Becca about the baby-
“When is the baby going to come?” Becca asked expectantly.
“The beginning of November. Before thanksgiving.”
“When will we know if we have a boy baby or a girl baby?” Becca asked a huge smile on her face.
“In about 10 weeks. Should I find out the gender?” She knew she answer already but Becca looked so happy and she wanted her to feel included.
“Yes! We have to know! We have to plan and pick a name! We have so many things to buy!” Mel was very aware of how many things a baby “needed” her plan was to keep it to a minimum. She didn’t want to touch her trust for baby things.
“If you want I can put my due date in your countdown app and the date for my anatomy scan?” Becca handed her phone over instantly.
“But Bec’s don’t get to attached to the due date. First baby’s are hardly ever on time.”
“I won’t. I promise. Wait Mel..”
Becca looked at her with wide eyes and bigger smile growing on her face, every tooth showing.
Mel handed Becca the phone without looking at the countdown. She was happy for Becca to have a countdown but knowing it herself was overwhelming.
“Yeah?” She reached over and touched her sisters hand. A little touch enough to be reassuring but not enough to be suffocating.
“Can I watch elf with the baby? Like I want to be the one holding baby the first time they see elf.”
“Becca you can dress the baby as an elf while you watch elf.” Mel said seriously.
Becca launched herself at Mel giving her a tighter then normal hug.
“Can I name the baby?” She asked quietly.
“No.” Mel said gently but firmly patting her sisters back.
