Hello! I only stumbled on your art recently but I really have to say how much I love the way you draw lips! Do you have any tips for drawing them traditionally, like on paper and pencil? Thank you! 💖✨

Hello!

First of all, thank you so much!! And I am also really sorry I didn’t see your message before now ;;

Lips can be tricky because there are so many ways to draw and shade them and they are all different! I have a lil mini tutorial for you using pencils, I am not really the best when it comes to traditional art but I hope it helps you a little! Super fast, super simple c: (also excuse the phone camera haha). 

1. First I use a purple coloured pencil to draw some quick shapes.

2. Then I use light orange to shade the lips, I focus the shading around the middle/where the lips meet. Lighter shading the further apart they are from eachother.

3. Use light red coloured pencil, shade the lips a bit more sparingly than with the orange. 

4. Then a dark red for finishing touches! 

You can use many different colors to shade lips as well! I like using a circular motion when using pencils. Have a look at some photos and experiment lots! I hope it helped you a little <3
