headcanon: Don Sertori believes in mermaids. it's said several times in the show that he knows the waters of the gold coast like the back of his hand. he's a seasoned fisherman, and a lover of the outdoors, who isn't afraid to visit Mako. obviously the original mermaids would've been a bit older than him, but still, it doesn't seem farfetched to me that he could've seen Julia or Louise when he was a teenager and they were in their twenties. he knows no one would ever believe him, but it's part of why he respects the sea as much he does. he knows it holds secrets and magic.

of course, he still has no idea about his own daughter being one. but when he does eventually find out (bc I firmly believe Cleo and Emma eventually tell their families), he takes it in surprising stride. when Cleo questions his chillness, he admits that this isn't the first time he's seen a mermaid.

😭 sorry I can't STAND how they write all the girls to be bored by science and disliking it and shutting it down. While Lewis, Will, Ryan, they all like it and Zane likes business. It's so INCORRECT I KNOW at least some of them would be absolute nerds over something.

Emma would love physics and learning how to use them to swim better. I think she also has the patience and perseverance for coding or something similar.

Rikki is a FIERCE businesswoman. I bet when she goes shopping she likes to think about market stuff and prices and politics and social studies and such. Imagine lawyer Rikki??? Hello?

Cleo has shown interest in Lewis' projects sometimes and in season 3 she was going down a rabbit hole about the moon pool story. I bet she loves going down rabbit holes on random subjects she finds, and chemistry and history!!! And animals like dolphins! And astronomy, and reading and writing and English. Cleo is so autistic I swear.
