“the word you’re looking for is therapist or maybe nanny, of which i am neither,” laurel responded, green gaze watching the douchebag stumble back to his buddies and whatever dancer had the misfortune of dealing with him. and maybe, just maybe, she was a little bit hoping to watch a bouncer toss his ass out. her night could use some giggles. she paused a second, making a show of patting her pockets and checking under the bar. after a few moments she sighed. “i knew i forgot something. sorry, no fucks today, but feel free to try your luck again tomorrow. now, did you want something or were you just jonesing for the pleasure of my company? its okay to miss me.”
~
Noemi threw her arms up in mock defeat, her facial expression dripping with feigned embarrassment. ‘’Shit, well you got me. It’s true, I did miss you.’’ she admitted with an exasperated shake of her head. ‘’With every bullet so far nonetheless. I should either work on my aim, or my barrel is crooked, I wouldn’t know..’’ she turned in her seat, now facing the other side of the bar where the vampire was standing, a taunting grin to her lips. ‘’Either way, you shouldn’t flatter yourself, your company is not even remotely pleasurable. I’m here for Moira.’’ she uttered. She glanced towards the back of the stage where her friend still hadn’t emerged. A slight scowl formed at her features. It had happened before that Moira had kept her waiting either because she’d taken on an extra shift, or there was a good crowd meaning extra tips. She’d prefer it if she got a head up before showing up here though.
Her expression had gone flat at what she was sure the person on the other side of the bar considered a particularly blistering tirade, but honestly she had grown bored with it. “Are you done or is this going to get more interesting any time soon because I have shit to do?” the blonde asked on a weary sigh, rolling a vodka bottle between her palms. Listening to them bitch and moan about which dancer did whatever the hell they were on about wasn’t entertaining her or making her money so she wasn’t interested.
Noemi sat at the corner of the bar, watching the bustle of patrons enjoying the dancers on stage strutting their curves. Different catcalls were thrown around as she music pounded through the sound system. She had her back turned towards the bartender, not interested in anything as she waited for Moira’s shift to end. Her friend was one of the dancers at the club, and she’d asked Noemi for a ride back home tonight.
The conversation that had sparked up behind her caught her attention and she quietly listened in on it. Apparently some complaints were being thrown around by some guy who was clearly wasted, and believed to be the most entertaining thing since the Soulmarks had returned. Definite douche. When Laurel put him in his place, she had stifle the amused laugh that threatened to spill from her lips. Yeah, she was all for roasting the asshole, but she’d die before taking a bloodsucker’s side. That included positive reactions to their actions.
‘‘I thought bartenders were supposed to be polite and friendly---’‘ she muttered, watching the douche retreat back to his group of friends, a scowl to his flushed face. She glanced at Laurel. ‘‘--and then there’s you, who’s neither. But then again, it’s in your nature to be---’‘ she lifted a hand, motioning her hand towards Laurel in a vague circular motion. ‘‘--..like this..’‘ she uttered, a look of distaste upon her features.
THE TINKLE OF THE BELL above the door alerted maya to someone’s presence, and the sound of something heavy hitting the floor alerted the customer to maya’s. “ just a second ! ” they called from the back, breathless by the time the blonde made it up to the front counter. “ sorry about that, got some new fertilizers, ” maya greeted flipping their hair out of their face as they tried to compose themselves. “ how can i help you ? ”

The moment she stepped into the flower shop, the scent of fragrant blooms filled her nostrils, almost to an overpowering degree. Of course, the scent of flowers was a wonderful one, but it was quite thick within the flower shop. The sound of something heavy hitting the floor caught Noemi’s attention and she released a soft chuckle at the voice that seemed to come from the back. She was about to call back for the other woman to take her time, but before she could, the florist was already rushing towards the counter. ‘’It’s fine, really.’’ she smiled in a polite manner before her look turned a little more pensive. ‘’I’m not so sure... I’m not very knowledgeable on flowers.’’ she admitted, glancing around the shop, allowing her gaze to bounce from the different potted plants and flowers. ‘’I mean, what kind of flowers do you give a colleague that’s been down with the flu for a few days?’’ she mentioned with an awkward smile.
MONSTERS - How do other characters view your muse?
Noemi is viewed as a kind yet closed off type of woman. Within her pack, she's a little more candid and open than she is with others. The outside world views her as an introvert in social situations, while her pack sees a far more extroverted version of her. She's not a rude or mean person, just friendly up to a certain point. Guarded. Far more at ease with animals.
NOSTALGIA - Does your muse enjoy fairy tales? If so, which one?
Yes! As a child, her mother and her always sit her down with some fairy tale book and read to her. It was a way go into a whole new reality and got her hooked. She's loves to read and have her own little escapes now. And well..... as for what fairy tales, there are mane. Thumbelina, Robin Hood, Red riding hood, Sleeping beauty..... loads of fairy tales that she had fond memories of and still enjoys. Of course, after her mothers death, it took her a while to find joy in those tales again.
HONOR - How far is the muse willing to go to achieve their goals?
Pretty far? But certainly not in an illegal way. Noemi isn't a rule breaker. She's can play the touch cookie act, but she's quite the goodie two shoes. Her goals mean the world to her, and she wants to work hard to achieve them. She'd move mountains if she had to, but wants to work towards them without any hand outs.
So in answer to your question, she's willing to go far, but won't jeopardize her values for it.
RETRIBUTION - Who/What can calm down the muse once they’ve lost their mind?
RETRIBUTION - Who/What can calm down the muse once they’ve lost their mind?
Most likely either her father, or her dogs.
Her father is one of the few people that truly understands the loss she'd gone through, and therefor whenever her mind is lost, she knows she can depend on him to understand and never judge her if things get to be too much.
Her dogs are her babies. She has two siberian huskies named Gemini and Leo. She got them as pups and has raised them into adulthood. They always know how to lift her spirits whenever they're near.
WICKED - What is something in the world the muse is in they wish they could change?
At the moment, it's the return of the soulmark. Even though she's torn on her feelings, she was far more at peace when her mark wasn't a part of her life. The knowledge of being bound to a vampire is her worst nightmare, and even though she longs for the imprint bond, she's willing to go without in order to avoid ever feeling drawn to a one of those..... killers.
[ Ryan Destiny. werewolf/salutary trainee. 28 heterosexual cis female ] was that just NOEMI HOWELL I saw coming out of PAWPRINTS VETERINARY CLINIC? the VETERINARIAN is best to be described as + PASSIONATE, but she could also be - TEMPERAMENTAL and as well as being previously unmarked she can easily be noticed by THE FAINT SCENT OF HERBS, OCCASIONAL SNARKY COMMENTS and RAVENBLACK HAIR, as well as AN ARRAY OF STARS SWIRLING DOWN HER ARM which has only just appeared. She started a fling with your muse several years ago in order to satisfy her urges and somewhat fill that void, but she hasn’t committed to your muse because of her longing for that imprint connection, a bond she will most likely deny and perhaps even consider severing because of her hatred for vampires.

THE SOULMARK
Neomi never expected her mark to appear and was living her life as if she’d never find her true imprint. She’d always longed for her fated imprint since she’d been a young child, so when her mark didn’t appear when she came of age, her world collapsed as she knew it. The thought of her imprint being a vampire was something that disgusted her. The sight of her peers all getting their marks one by one only caused her embarrassment and disgust. She started living her life, trying to ignore the lack of a mark. Her dream to one day find her imprint fading to the background. Not wanting a vampire beast to be the one made to be her soulmate. She mentally thanked her ancestors for the vampire curse as it made it near impossible to find her vampire connection, but at the same time, it pained her on a much deeper level.
When the mark reappeared, she had been content fooling around with a pack member she’d been seeing on and off again. Once again, her life was shaken at its core. The one thing that had been forced to the backburner returning full force. The longing to feel that connection once again surfacing, but the thought of whom that connection would be tethered to brings her nothing but dread.
She’s not interested in meeting her other half, almost avoiding the chance to at this point. She’s scared of what she’ll encounter. She had finally been at peace and now it had once again all crashed down.
SPECIES
Neomi is a born werewolf, having been part of the Atropos pack since she was 5 years old. She came to know of vampires from a young age, and later came to learn of witches.
She loves her pack, and wants to do all she can to protect what she considers her family and the pride of being a werewolf. She never wants to lose her home again. She considers vampires to be glorified killing machines just a hair away from complete genocide of human kind and those who could get in their way. The treaty is something she never expected to have lasted as long as it did. Nor expected vampires to go this long without too much of an incident. But time will tell now that the soulmarks have returned.
Like most, she’s weary of witches, but doesn’t mind being in their company as she does with vampires.
SO FAR
Since the return of the mark, she’s been avoiding the public as best she can. She’s kept herself as hauled up in the forest as much as she possibly can, skipping on Loveweek and only leaving Atropos territory if necessary. But she knows that she can’t keep avoiding the public forever.
DEVELOPMENT
I’d like for Neomi to start trusting others outside the pack. Find a way for her to see that other species aren’t as bad as she believes. Tamper down her temperament a bit. Also, I'd like to develop her as a Salutary, The growth in her abilities as a pack healer and herbal use. I want to see the clinic grow into the animal hub that Neomi hopes it could one day become.
BACKGROUND
Neomi was born to a small pack just outside the city of Red Rock. She had two loving parents and an older brother and sister. She was a happy child, enjoying life to the fullest and learning all there was to learn about their heritage.
The pack had formed a small village outside Red Rock. They were a family and looked out for their own. This is where Neomi learned the importance of family.
One night, they were surprised in their sleep. Neomi was four years old at the time, and was startled away by the loud screams and commotion coming from outside their home. Her mother, a trained sentinel for the pack, went out to gauge the situation, and quickly returned panicked about a vampire clan attack on the village. Everything had been decimated, and vicious fighting had ensued outside.
Her mother demanded both Neomi and her father to flee towards the forest while she went to go get her two elder children. The twins had been out on a sleepover on the other end of the village. Her mother promised that she would meet them near the river. Neomi’s father hadn’t wanted to leave his wife and other children behind, but he knew he had to keep his youngest safe from these violent monsters.
Her mother took Neomi into a tight embrace, promising she would see her later. Yet that was the final time Noemi felt her mother’s loving arms around her.
The family burst from their home and both her parents shifted into their wolves. As planned, Neomi climbed atop her fathers back and clung to him for dear life as he made a sprint for the tree line. Her mother threw herself into the fray, off to find her other children in order to secure them for their escape.
To this day, Noemi still recalls the carnage. Fires and flames everywhere, So many bodies, both wolf and human form, littered the ground. Blood… blood was everywhere. The sight had scarred her for life. The cause of it all, even from such a young age, stuck to her like glue. Vampires.
Two days passed after she and her father had reached the river. They had waited so long, but her mother, nor her siblings arrived at the designated spot. At some point, her father had silently given up hope. Yet noemi hadn’t. She screamed at her father about how they had to wait for her mommy. How mommy had promised to come. How she wanted her mommy and her siblings. Her father had had to forcefully take his child and leave the place they’d once called their home.
They settled in Everwinter when she was five years old, picking back up their lives and joining the Atropos pack, who welcomed them with open arms.
Her father joined the sentinel’s of the pack, feeling a need to protect the new home as his wife had with their previous one.
Noeimi grew normally, developing a love for animals and eventually went into veterinary school after her teens. She also wanted to become a Salutary, wanting to be able to protect her new family's well being as best she knew how. By healing.
She interned at a small clinic and after graduating was invited to stay as a second pair of hands. After years of working there, the owner decided to retire and gave her the reins and ownership. She changed the name, took on more employees and expanded their reach. She is now the owner of Pawprints veterinary clinic, and wants to grow it out to be the animal hub of the state.
The loss of her family still haunts her, but she knows who to blame, and forgiveness isn’t something she reserves for the likes of them.
CONTACT
I would like to be contacted. It’s always nice to discuss the connection beforehand. Especially because it’s a complex one given her vampire hatred.
