lowkey it really broke my heart when I realized the trans community is Like That so often like. idk. one of the few things that made me secure in socially transitioning was the belief that wed all be on the same side and kumbaya and shit and I've been fucking. misgendered by (A VERY SMALL PORTION OF) my trans sisters and called a pickme for standing up for my trans brothers and nonbinary siblings and watched my trans sisters who don't fit into acceptable femininity be torn apart and receive all this awful hate and seen how binary perisex trans ppl treat nonbinary and intersex allies and siblings and friends and. idk. idk maybe I'm an idealist I mean any group is gonna have some fucking assholes in it but. can you guys please twig that we are being taken for a ride? that we are being labeled by society at large as a domestic threat, and then torn apart from the inside so that we cannot even stand together against this injustice? for Christs sakes, can you set aside your ego and love
what if I just made my profile picture a male calico cat or something. hurm
Could I suggest a picture of Dawntreader Texas Calboy? He is a beautiful male calico cat who is a chimera. He's also somewhat controversial among some cat fancy associations since he is a male cat with female colors, and some people are strangely transphobic towards him, despite him being a cat? There was even a rule implemented to keep him from competing in a cat show. If you look up his name, he made a few news articles.
Oh my god?????
Yeah you're right about beautiful I'm squeezing him until he pops!!!!! I love this guy I think I'm going to make an edit real quickly Calboy I love you I'm so sorry people are calling you a freak??????

This is one of the most powerful images I have ever seen, and I will reblog it every single time because every single time it brings tears to my eyes.

AITA for asking my husband to stop posting our interpersonal conflicts on Reddit?
My (29F) husband (36M) and I have been together for almost ten years now and like any couple we occasionally get into arguments. Over the years I've noticed a pattern where the day after an argument he'd either give me an eloquently-phrased apology or, more often, a perfectly logically sound counterargument that completely proves that I was in the wrong. My hubby is an intellectual hunk so I've never thought this was suspicious, but the other day he brought up a counterargument that was so logically airtight that my only response was to laugh and say "Did you get that from Reddit or something?", because even though I don't use Reddit I know the reputation it has for being a center for wit and intellectual debate.
Well, turns out I was right. Every time we've ever gotten into a fight, he's always posted about what happened on r/AmItheAsshole and used the comments he gets to decide what to say the following day. When he told me this, I demanded to see some of these posts and he obliged.
To my surprise, not only has he been posting our arguments on this subreddit, he's been posting them from my perspective, writing them as though I'm the one posting these stories on Reddit from over a hundred different throwaway accounts. He'd always "anonymize" the posts too, apparently changing our relationship, genders, and ages with a random number generator, which is honestly really clever because it preserves our privacy without changing any important details for the purpose of deciding who was right in the argument.
Anyway, I really didn't like that he was basically impersonating me on the internet, but of course I didn't want to admit this to him so I made something up about him "misrepresenting" my side of the argument, even though I know he's a perfectly rational man and that it's impossible for him to be biased when describing things from my perspective. So I told him that he needs to stop putting our interpersonal conflicts on Reddit and "think for himself" (and of course I know that he really is thinking for himself but sometimes my womanly emotions cause me to say things I don't really mean. Fortunately he's always able to see through that and understand exactly what I meant to say every time.) but he refused, saying he doesn't think he did anything wrong. And then like always he got really quiet for the rest of the night and we haven't really talked since.
So, Reddit, am I the asshole?

Genuinely very good creative writing! I agree with some of the other comments that the mask-slipping bits toward the end come on too strong (like, I've read plenty of AlTA posts that are obviously men pretending to be their own girlfriends, wives, etc. and none of them would say "womanly emotions"!), but on the whole I think it's very successful in allowing the dimensions of the story to unfold over the course of the text.
In particular, I enjoyed the twist/ambiguity of the initial implied creepy age-gap (25yo man dating teenage girl) being called into question with the mention of randomizing ages, etc. Are they actually closer in age?
Or is it actually even worse? Then you think, wait, it also says "he" randomizes their genders and relationship. So are they even a straight married couple? They could be male college roommates, or an elderly mother and middle-aged daughter. In that case, is the implied misogyny of the poster actually a double-bluff?
It spirals into a great deal of doubt that calls into question not just the hidden fictional reality behind the unreliable narrator, but the entire premise of an AlTA thread. How can we judge the real lives of strangers on the internet when everything we could possibly know about them comes from the world's least reliable source?
