Some parents have taken offense to a book from the American Girl doll brand that discusses body image and gender, claiming it’s pushing impr
"This book holds nothing back in teaching girls how to change their sex by seeking puberty blockers, making permanent changes to their bodies, and going behind their parents' back to organizations that can "help” them."
How the great have fallen
“The way you show your gender to the world through clothes and behaviors is your gender expression" lol. Lmao even.
So sad humans only got a couple of years of the 90's and earlier 00's trying to break free of that before going to the same ancient "third gender" bullshit as always.
Please share this with any parents you know that have young girls. I loved the American Girl dolls and books as a kid. When I was older, I had the “Smart Girl’s Guide” books that talked about puberty.
There may be moms out there who grew up with American Girl like I did and don’t know how far they’ve fallen. They’ll see a book with a title like “body image” and assume it’s about self esteem or weight issues.
This info needs to get out to those moms before they let their daughters read this crap.
Edit: the article has this image from the book:
Note where it encourages kids who “don’t have an adult [they] can trust” to reach out to some organization that will “help.”
That’s code for “if your parents don’t want you to take puberty blockers, we’ll help you circumvent them.”
“Being transgender isn’t a medical transition”
I wasn’t aware that cutting off your genitals could be anything other than a medical process or a horrific injury.
it’s a little misguided with that quote in particular, but overall I’m not seeing the major issue here. I think this is a pretty simple way of explaining what being transgender is to kids who may experience gender dysphoria, and introduces the process of transitioning / explains how it works. now that the topic is introduced, a kid can do more research about it if they choose to in order to learn more about their feelings and whether or not they identify with others’ experiences. searching for one’s identity starts so early, little by little
what would be a different way of introducing this topic to younger audiences that is more preferable to you guys?
The major issue is that being transgenderism is mental illness instilled by either delusion or fetishism so you’re essentially saying “well how ELSE are we supposed to teach children to be delusional sex freaks??” as if that is in any way a reasonable thing to do.
good morning Kirstin, it looks like we think pretty differently about this! contrary to popular belief, being transgender isn’t a mental illness
