As an adult who’s LGBT+ and have questioned ever since I was very young, let me tell you one thing:
You’re probably going to go through a lot of labels and some feelings might turn out to be “just phases”, but you know what? That’s completely alright. Even if it is a phase you are allowed to explore yourself and your identity. It doesn’t matter if you stick to a label for all your life or change it every day. It doesn’t even matter if you are 12, 16, 20 or even 60. You know what truly matters? Self-love. Just remember no matter the label, how obscure or ‘mainstream’, you’re still important and you still matter. Questioning is not a race, so just take your time. ~🐱
Cookie Monster is all wound up. The Count has him hold up his furry blue fingers, count them (of course), and blow on each one in turn as if he were blowing out a birthday candle. Afterward, Cookie declares, in his familiar growly voice, that he feels much better.
“Hey! Me feel terrific! Me calm. Me relaxed.”
You won’t be catching this scene on HBO or PBS. It’s part of a special initiative called Sesame Street in Communities. Free materials, including videos, books and games, will be released today to help parents and caregivers, in turn, help young children cope with traumatic experiences.

“they” is shorter than “he or she”
“they” is more inclusive than “he or she”
“they” flows more naturally than “he or she”
I don’t want to see “he or she” ever again
hey friendly psa/reminder that with the seasons changing right now, a lot of people with mood disorders (and even people without them) can get all messed up and wonky from that so try to go a little easy on yourself if you find yourself spiraling or getting emotional a lot lately okay? youre doin your best. love u
do you ever wonder how your blog appears to other people? like, am I someone that’s constantly on everyone’s dashes? am I that person that people don’t know very well, but they reblog often? am I that person that people don’t remember following, but they’re still around anyway? WHO AM I

Should “Queer” Replace “LGBT”?
This video basically fits in with my views on the word queer. I don’t think it should be an umbrella term for those who don’t want it. I think its acceptable to use for those who do. But she says something at the end that I think is important - she’s open to language evolving and new umbrella terms.
This is so important. We can’t just sit back and say “no. It’s LGBT” and ignore the other identities. We can’t mock MOGAI identities or the labels. Language evolves. People are trying to find words that fit themselves.
I’m sick of people who have told me that I can’t identify as queer because it’s a slur. Language evolves. Yes, it’s a slur, but it’s also an identity, because that’s how language works. We come up with new words to explain who we are.
“sir what you did is literally 100 percent illegal” “ok but get this: im a rich white person" “oh sorry about that sir"
