“of course you did,” he said as she explained what she had been through. he felt fond warmth replace the scratchy thirst. she had promised and she hadn’t given up. no one had done that for him before, not ever. kol leaned in as she kissed his cheek, touching where her lips had been when she pulled back. he nodded though, because he did understand. he took the clothes in hand and smiled weakly at her. “alright. i’ll uh, be right there.” why was he so awkward? christ.
when he was alone, the door shut, he turned to the mirror and swallowed hard. he pulled his upper lip up and away from his teeth, frowning as much as he could at the way his canines dropped with a simple thought. he thumbed across one fang, making a surprised sound when the edge cut across the pad of his thumb, drawing blood. luckily, his own blood didn’t seem arouse the beast. he went to lick it clean and found it was already healed. his frown deepened. he didn’t like it, any of it.
right, well. he didn’t want to keep her waiting. he finished drying off, and pulled on the clothes davina had brought him - a pair of jeans and a vneck, something he would have worn as kaleb. he hesitated, hand on the door. right, this was davina. his davina, his girl. it was going to be fine. he headed out, taking in his surroundings. familiar but not. wrong eyes, same memory. he found the kitchen with ease, following the sound of her. “thanks, by the way,” he began, clearing his throat.
“for the uh, blood, i mean. i don’t know if it’s the same as it was, how long i can go without it. not sure if i’m still as old as i was, if that makes sense,” he explained, shoving his hands in his pockets. he wished he could fall into his easy cocky charm, his wily wit, but at the moment, he didn’t feel very wily or witty. it sucked. he had never really done this before, had he? no. it was new and strange.
she was glad that he knew how much he meant to her. && how much she wanted to bring him back. she was desperate enough to ask for help from mikaelsons. but they weren’t of so much use. they used her to bring their mother back only so they could get rid of her later. not to mention that they only gave davina another reason to hate them. they fooled her so many times. they saw her as a child. they had all the right to, she is 17 years old. but she has been through so much. she experienced death already. none of them did. except kol.Â
davina didn’t want to bother him while he was changing into dry clothes. she just took the clothes kaleb had. she hoped he wouldn’t mind it. they would go shopping if needed. she took the bottle of wine they had && sat it down on the table. she looked through the cupboards for two glasses. her lips turned into a small smile as she found them. she sat them next to the bottle as she waited for kol. she probaby wouldn’t drink much but she knew kol, his whole family in the fact, didn’t mind a drink or two.Â
she turned around when she heard his voice. his british accent was showing off like in his last body. it sounded sexy, of course. she didn’t mind it. she didn’t mind her boyfriend being this handsome adult. she chuckled a bit when he said thank you. she didn’t know for what he meant. for the fact she brought him back or the fact she found him some clothes. “ you don’t have to thank me. i’m the thankful one. “ she walked in front of him. her hand found it’s way to his. “ i need to talk to you before we do anything, okay? “ she sat up on the counter, making sure she’s facing him.Â
she knew what he meant. “ when you need to feed -- you feed. i need you to be a healthy vampire. you could even feed on me, if you’re that thirsty. “ she tilted her head a bit. it was true, she allowed to be fed on before. but now she needed to talk to him about something serious. she took a deep breath. “ while you were gone, i got these flashbacks of you. in this body. they weren’t so -- nice. “ her brows narrowed a bit as she looked down at her hands. “ it was about you killing. you && klaus killing innocent people. i understand the fact you needed to feed but this was different. you were careless. “
