I'm glad the facial expressions are coming across accurately! It can feel so absurd to say gosh I hope the torment maze removes some fire and rusty nails soon, but alas, sometimes that's all one can do.

The dust. The thinnest lines.

The windows of the Tower, one by one.

One year of watching this map refuse to hold still.

Tonight it holds.

It happened on the longest day.

The light climbed as far as it could, then stopped.

Everything held its breath at once.

The map. The year. Me.

The map is finished.

I've been looking at it for an hour.

Soon, you'll see it too.

Les fenêtres de la Tour, une à une.

Un an à regarder cette carte refuser de rester immobile.

Cette nuit, elle tient.

C'est arrivé le jour le plus long.

La lumière est montée aussi haut qu'elle pouvait, puis s'est arrêtée.

Tout a retenu son souffle en même temps.

La carte. L'année. Moi.

La carte est finie.

Je la regarde depuis une heure.

Bientôt, vous la verrez aussi.

I thought the edges would hold.

So I started there.

Slowly. Precisely.

Each line stayed in place.

Each circle made sense.

Or seemed to.

There is a logic to it.

You can feel it taking shape.

But the closer you get to the center,

the less it behaves like a map.

It doesn’t collapse.

It shifts.

Have you ever tried to map something that reacts?

Alors j’ai commencé par là.

Lentement. Précisément.

Chaque ligne restait en place.

Chaque cercle avait du sens.

Du moins, en apparence.

Il y a une logique.

Mais plus vous vous approchez du centre,

moins cela se comporte comme une carte.

Ça ne cède pas.

I just realised americans would pronounce my username as garaks-padded-BRAW and it sent a shiver down my spine (i am irish so while an american might pronounce it like the A in 'father' id pronounce it like the A in 'cat')

Finding it quite funny how everyones response to this seems to be begging for their lives as if im going to enforce irish pronunciation or death. Which i am, youre correct

I had a high grade fever when i posted this and only the day after did i realise nobody is gonna be pronouncing cat and father like i do. The solution is to mind meld with everyone interacting with the post

so ah or aw is how an american would say it (/brɑː/ is "brah" like "brawl" but dropping the l from the end)

but an irish accent gives us brā (/bɹæ/ is "braa," like "brat"* [american accent**] but dropping the t)

...honestly americans can probably just think of it as "gareks-padded-brat" (the t fell off) and get the idea**

*the insult, not the nickname for "bratwurst" which is pronounced with "ah" not "aa"

**this won't work if you're not american or working with similar vowel sounds (a lot of accents use the bratwurst pronunciation for all forms of "brat")

Ok, so from my german perspective american english "a" is more like our "ä". From how I understand and interpret the explanations (æ is bacically the ä sound) I can only come to the conclusion that you pronounce it "brä" and I can not get my brain to accept that.
