“Son of a bitch,” Dean breathes one afternoon in the bunker library, seemingly out of the blue. “Today’s the eighteenth.”

Sam looks up from his laptop, startled. “Uh, yeah. It is. Does that… mean something to you?”

“It’s…” Dean shakes his head. “You know what, Sammy? It doesn’t matter. I’m gonna go run an errand, though, so uh… Yeah.”

“Alright…”

And then Dean is gone, jogging down the hall, presumably toward the garage. Sam just sits and stares after him, uncomprehending. 

“What the fuck.”

If Sam hadn’t spilled his coffee all over the newspaper, Dean would have never looked at the date.

September eighteenth. Seven years to the day Castiel pulled him out of Hell.

I’m the one who gripped you tight and raised you from perdition.

Dean drums his fingers on the table, trying to decide what he should say to Cas, if anything. Sam stepped out of the room to get another newspaper from the store down the street, so it’s just him and Cas in the room. Although, the other man is sitting on the motel bed, looking down at his phone, oblivious to Dean’s thoughts. 

Maybe he should man up and finally say what he’s been trying to show for years. He’s tired of waiting.

I’ll just wait here then. 

“Hey, Cas,” Dean ventures. Cas looks up from his phone, raising his eyebrows.

“Yes, Dean?" 

"Can I, uh, talk to you for a second?"

hotels can’t be boring to me

they’re just fun

even if i’m sitting in the room watching tv or riding the elevator or sleeping it’s just fun for some reason like they’re average every day things but in a hotel everything is way more amusing and interesting and just simply being in a hotel is fun to me and i don’t understand

depression symptoms that need to be brought to attention, supported and not demonized:

not showering/bathing for days or even weeks. (this has nothing to do with laziness - a main symptom of depression is being unable to be motivated)

not engaging in any social actvities

staying up and sleeping in till late 

not being able to eat

neglecting self care as a whole 

spending entire weeks at home, in the same pajamas, in the same bed

disregarding help/support (nothing against you. we’re just really fucking down.)

don’t shame us. we’re having a hard time managing being depressed in general.
