And if you do find something that you need to bring up to your doctor, don’t be scared of the mammogram!

I found a lump and had a mammogram, as well as a sonogram on my breasts. The sonogram is just like you see on a pregnant woman’s belly. It’s 100% comfortable and painless.

The mammogram was a decent amount of pressure, but it didn’t even really hurt. I was very worried and it ended up being so fast and easy. My technician/nurse was a woman old enough to be my grandma. I don’t think there are many/any male mammogram technicians, but you are completely within your rights to ask who will perform your mammogram before you go in and request a woman just in case.
