the way the discussions around cringe culture n whatnot have been completely derailed to mean “you are not allowed to make fun of or criticize the way people interact with their interests ever” is so annoying

when we talk about cringe culture its FIRST AND FOREMOST about kids. dont make fun of kids for making sonic ocs or learning fortnite dances or for getting really invested in their undertale aus or just their interests in general. and no you shouldnt make fun of adults for these same things BUT adults, and i mean ALL adults, have a responsibility to keep kids safe and that includes not making hardcore porn of the latest popular cartoon or video game because kids will find it and yes if a kid is exposed to your st*ven univ*rse porn or whatever that is in fact your fault and your responsibility, so if thats how you choose to interact with every single thing you become a fan of people are allowed to criticize you for it and we dont have to be nice about it actually
