this is probably the last chapter. Because if I continue it just be sad.
Previous
Laswell stared at you, eyes wide, mouth agape. It’s been nearly thirty years since she last saw you. You were her history professor in college. She was one of the rare non-history students who took your Middle Eastern class, ‘Why the Middle East?’ She was naive, unlike the other she didn’t understand.
But she didn’t let her naivety hold her back. She learns quickly and learns fast. You could see her grow another synapse in her mind as you continue to teach the class— another wrinkle in her brain. You remember her because even after your class, her views of the Middle East were still… negative.
You didn’t like her.
“Mrs. Ersoy,” Laswell mumbled.
“Kate?” Price grunts her name out, “You know her?”
“Y-you haven’t aged.”
“... Katie, that’s what it means to be immortal,” You nod slowly like she’s slow. “I’m old.” Her shock crystallized, and she grew quiet and grim.
“Don’t mock me—”
“Don’t be easy to mock, you’re not twenty anymore, nor my student. I don’t have to respect you.” You smile before looking around the place. “This place is ass— At least be the interesting white people!”
“I’m not white,” Gaz mumbled.
“No, but you are colonized.”
“Bitch—”
“You got a British accent, don’t talk to me.” You wave your hand before sitting in a comfy-looking office chair that some poor soldier dragged into the room. “So… now that I’m here gonna tell your stupid little government you got an immortal on your hands? Gonna rip me open?” You ask with a smile.
This won’t be the first time a nation or government has tried some bullshit with you. Nor will it be the last; the question is, can they actually figure it out? So far, no one has.
“... For now you’re under our protection,” Laswell grunted.
“Sorry, can’t, I got ugh… an Airbnb, and like shit I brought with me— so like—”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Soup said in his ridiculous accent. “You can’t return—”
“I need to,” you for the micro-second dropped the cheery act. You don’t travel with much, mostly photos, and buy shit as you need it. Your home is a warehouse where you store the stuff you love the most. “I have stuff, so unless you wanna… come along?” You smirk, wiggling your brow happily.
“Gaz goes with her to collect her things.”
“But—”
“And change, you look like a bad horror movie victim,” you look down at yourself. You’re close, are ripped in that horror-esc slutty way that would make a teen boy grow a boner.
“Got clothes?” She tosses military fatigue at you. You shrug and begin to change right there. You’re a grown woman, they're grown, a body is a body. You see Gaz turn away and Soap staring. “Like what you see?” You ask soap.
“... Why is that tattoo…”
“Oh, I got like… shot near it. When I heal, tattoos don’t come back.” You shrug. “I would get more tattoos, but that would be harder to like… change identities.” You wiggle your fingers. After you're done changing, you turn to Gaz.
“Let's go, handsome!” You pat his shoulder and skip off.
The drive to your Airbnb was quiet… Ok, that’s a lie. You blasted music from all Decades (Some you had some unknown artist make from your memory). You don’t remember most of the language, but like a sleeper agent, some music notes just remind you of the language.
“You are safe in my heart, and my heart will go on and on!!” You sing at the top of your lungs, as you jam out to Céline Dion. The music is turned down, and you turn to Gaz. “What was that for??” You whine.
“Were you… on the Titanic?”
“No, sadly…” You sigh. Oh, you would have loved to be on the Titanic! “I was on the Carpathia, the ship that saved the Titanic. I honestly… I would be so much more insufferable if I were on the Titanic!”
As you pull up to your current place, you walk in.
You may or may not have forced Gaz into helping clean the Airbnb. And you may or may not have made him carry all your shit to the car as you finish eating your rotting leftovers. It’s not like you can get sick, so…
“So,” Gaz asks, looking to you, “Where were you during the bubonic plague?”
“... I was chillin’ in the Ottoman Empire, baby! I was drinkin’ coffee, watching people die, started a doomsday cult—”
“WHAT?”
“What? I genuinely thought it was the end of all days… Then it didn’t happen… I cried.” You sigh. “When I say cult, not the historical cult, it was very much modern!” You tell him.
By the time you two got back to the military base, you came to one single idea. You’d like to stay with this bunch until they die. They are a strange breath of fresh air. For a few decades, they will be a distraction.
They gave you your own section. They’re buttering you up.
“Literally, why are you staring at me?” You ask Ghost, seeing his creepy little eyes following your movement. As you set your living space up.
“You're doing something weird—”
“Existing in my own world?” You snap back. You had set up your little shrine; it was a haphazard placement of photos of your children and past loves.
“What are the pictures for?”
“You're not being paid enough to know.” You snap back, can’t he mind his own business?
“C’mon, Y/n, what’s it for?” Soap jumps in, too. You sigh and look at them.
“These were once my children.”
“Once?”
“They’re dead.”
“They're not immortal like you?” Gaz asks, walking into the conversation.
“Nope, if my children were immortal, probably a 4th or 5th of the population would be immortal. And I probably called grandma.” You joke.
“Hell… my descendants be used as soldiers in a never-ending war.” You state in a serious tone that you often had nightmares over these speculative situations.
“That sounds like a nightmare.”
“Oh yeah,” you flop down in your chair, “I checked my DNA over and over again, got doctorates after doctorates, I can’t find anything different about my DNA… Maybe I’m Earth’s greatest Protagonist!” You cheer happily, kicking your feet.
“Or… you're cursed by God.”
“I predate God.” You toss a small wooden box at Soap like he’s a misbehaving dog.
“Question time,” Soap grabs a chair and sits down. “Where are you at Pompeii?”
“No.” You replied.
“Did you live in the Roman Empire?” Gaz asks.
“Yeah, I did.” You shrug, “Didn’t like it, preferred Sparta.” You shrug, “ I was on Helen’s side of the war.” You flop backward onto the bed.
“Helen of Troy is real?” Soap blurts out.
“Yup.”
“What’s the… ugh, weirdest history event you were a part of?”
“World War 1 and then World War 2,” You tell Gaz. “I was a nurse, but I was moving around as a volunteer on my own money. I ended up in Africa, then somehow jumped onto a military ship to Australia.” You smile.
“I came back to the former Ottoman Empire— specifically Turkey, to mourn my oldest home, then I traveled to Egypt to act like a tourist for the nth time in my life. Was there for King Tut!” You smile brightly.
“What was your favorite invention?”
“Photos,” You smile, “Besides the tampons and period pads.” You shrug.
“You get those?” Soap gawks.
You stare at him like he’s stupid, like he grew a second head. “Yeah, I’m stuck as a young woman— you think I would be in menopause?”
“I… I just assume it would have stopped—”
“Men.” You roll your eyes. “Given everything yet so stupid.”
“Old Hag—” You leap off the bed and tackle Soap to the ground. You might be physically old, but you’ll throw hands like your mental age. He yelps as you rangle him to the ground. You fee the rough hands of Ghost trying to pull you off.
Immunity || Zombie apocalypse
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thanks to @lumina--writes for letting me use her fic concept (She's never gonna finish that fic so it's mine!)
Immune!Reader is at the sight of the outbreak and was one of the first to record the zombie apocalypse
Immune!Reader who quickly figures out they're immune b/c the zombies don't bite them (low-key upset)
Immune!Reader who streams their experience
Gaz who was one of the first to stumble across their stream when they're crashed out about (whatever useless item you care about way too much)
Gaz, who shared the account with Soap because this is his type of content.
Soap, who becomes a regular troll and pissinf Reader off for fun, until he sees a zombie and screams, waking Roach up
Roach, who now follows because he gets bad FOMO and realizes this is a first-hand look into the zone they're about to enter
Ghost who's too old for social media, but Roach forces him to watch
Price, who is the last to know (even Laswell at this point knows) and is confused why Reader is curing Soap out as they bashed a zombie in the head, screaming "Ricky, when I catch you, Ricky!"
Laswell, who contacts Reader to ask about the containment area b/c her wife was there on a diplomatic mission.
Immune!Reader, who is suspicious of these so-called "Military men," and asks for proof.
Soap, who jumps onto live with them (reader immediately begins to laugh at him for his haircut)
Roach, who is in the background writing on a whiteboard.
Laswell, who asks Reader to walk around the specific area they will be landing to scope things out.
Immune!Reader, who is confused but does it because all they have are their strange cult fans who want to see the end of times.
------------------------------
Wondering if you guys would like this to be a mini miscellaneous fic.
You thought dying would be the final step of life. But to your surprise, you had a second chance, reincarnation. You for a moment before you saw yourself thought you were an original self, but you were simply reincarnated into a side character. A side character only made as a gag. Your existence was whittled down to a joke. You intend to be more.
Reincarnated as a weak Tooru Hagakure, you want to prove to the world that you're more than just a joke— more than just a pretty face and naked body. They’ll see you! Invisible or not.
I love the idea of honey badger!reader being a menace to everyone but Laswell. Like she is off-limits and no one is allowed to mess with her, the reader will make sure.
And I'd like the idea of Laswell being kinda smug about it, especially when it comes to Price
At first Laswell didn’t know. It went on months until she caught them throwing up into Prices shoes. Honey badger! Reader got scolded in front of everyone (they might have cried crocodile tears as Laswell force them to apologize for everything).
This didn’t stop honey badger! Reader no. They got pettier.
It’s only when Price upsets Laswell does she feel smug about being the favorite person of an unhinged badger. She’ll use that as her trump card.
“The reason why they don’t respect you is because you’re lacking in leadership.”
“Kate they only reason they respect you is because you give them treats and scratches.”
Honey badger! Reader looked at Graves and was like, I have found my rival
Honey badger! Reader is a certified hater and they hate is the petty
Honey badger! Reader has puke, pissed, sneeze right onto Graves things in front of him.
Honey badger! Reader has stole, so much from everyone except for Laswell, 141 found their stash of items and instead of acting like a guilty criminal they acted like the victim bring robbed
Honey badger! Reader is honestly easily Bribed (but what you need to bribe them with is bizarre stuff)
Honey badger! Reader is loud and has woken everyone up out of boredom and attention
Honey badger! Reader adores Laswell to the point they bring her gifts of other members stuff
Honey badger! Reader once licked Alejandro’s forehead because “it looks like an apple”
Honey badger! Reader who will lash out if any member wakes them up when their napping
Honey badger! Reader who once called soap Englishman and nearly got skinned
Oh for sure! But it’s actually not the Host but a little, specifically the youngest little alter, mostly bitching about being tired and not fronting. The first time Nikto “purred” it too everyone by suprise but no one said shit because this man is ✨unstable✨. But it's pretty funny because it's usually happens at random times.
One recruit ask what he did it. That recruit had two broken legs after word.
Forward: Also I do not have DID. Also DID does not make monsters! They are usually hurt individuals trying to survive!
——
In his doscripion he is said to have a dissociative disorder and in his voice lines used the term we, when referring to self.
Since we don’t know Nikto’s real name I’m gonna call the host Nikto for simplicity.
Nikto! alsway had DID, but as the Host of the system didn’t know that. He comes from an abusive household hold and the military was his escape. During his torture he discovered another Alter. You.
Alter! Reader has been there since six. You are an inhuman alter, an angel to be perceive (your a mix between archangel Michael and mother Mary). You are also ageless.
Alter! Reader is the primary protector and Primary caregiver.
Alter! Reader who was consider Nikto’s imaginary friend until you decided to go low key to keep him from looking crazy.
Alter! Reader who pulls Nikto from fronting after the first day of torture.
Nikto! Does not remember the torture, but was pretty upset to be disfigured and during his lowest moment you step in again.
Nikto! Thought you were a hallucination when he heard your voice in his head.
Alter! Reader explain who you are, what is going on.
Nikto! Is later diagnosed with DID, and was advice to leave the PMC lifestyle. But since Nikto is disfigured he knew he had no real future and chose to hide his disability and keep working.
Alter! Reader who tries to get him to quit but Nikto refuse.
Alter! reader begins to Co-front with him to the point Nikto begin to use we
Alter! Reader who has not tell Nikto they’re others for his safety
Nikto! who never really takes days off mainly to stay in control and force him to live in the moment and and not lose control over the body.
Nikto! who begins to rely on you as your a stable figure of his ideal protector (base off an all powerful angel and the only noncruel religious figure (Mary)) and brings him peace
“What was that about?” Soap asks Gaz. The two of them backed down when the reporters got nosy, they followed her all night long hounding her for answers.
“Abraham believed In a theory, it's written in Latin so either she knows Latin or Abraham told her.” Gaz grumble digging through his notebook.
“What theory?”
“There was a time were humans and monsters got along, they worshiped this female deity. She was murdered, and war broke out, Abraham was born in the last few days of her reign.” Gaz explains finding his notes he had written about back when he was in school.
“So?”
“So Abraham no longer speaks about this time, and in one of his papers, he theorizes this deity is still alive.”
“Mate—”
“That woman is highly educated, she shouldn't be, she wasn't born here she *came* here. Teaching humans is banned in all states except for Switzerland, how does she know?” Gaz asks Soap shrug, it didn't sound important to him but from the look on Gaz’s face said it all.
“Mr. Garrick,” the two sergeants froze and turned to see Priscilla standing there peeping her head in head feather raising in slight embarrassment. “Do we need to cancel flight training?”
“No!” Gaz shouts and walks closer to her. “Your mother.”
“yes?”
“Did she go to school?” asked a question with a smile.
“No… Why?”
“Well your mother knows things she shoulders like a diety—“
“Oh you mean Abraham’s fairytales? he likes to tell fairytales when we were little, you know? of a better time where we’re all equal, it helped most of us sleep.” Priscilla says fondly with a sweet smile on her lips.
Gaz sighs and Soap pats him on the shoulder, with a small reassuring look and smile, “See mate, you overthinking it.”
“Your mother where did she come from?”
“She came from South America and found most of us traveling up to North America and sailing over to Asia, then traveling to Switzerland.” Gaz nods and the two walk to the field with the little Harpies.
The press saw them, and the monster swarmed them, “What’s your view of the orphanage director?” The first reporter asks.
“She’s my mother—"
“So she cut off your wings?”
“No! She found me like this—“
“If given the opportunity would you go home?”
“This is my home!” Priscilla shouts her frustration begins to teetering on tears. Gaz spread his wings out blocking her from the cameras.
“Don’t bother the kid—“
“As a soldier in the monster military aviator wing, what’s your view of this almost dystopian utopia?” One Gargon asks her snakes hissing with delight and anticipation.
“I am weary but everything here so far looks good, and the orphanage director didn’t know we were coming or how long we are staying,” Gaz said in the most PR statement possible. Switzerland has one of the biggest armies, and it is wise not to attack its citizens and their politics. The media followed them, Priscilla couldn't stop looking over her shoulder, they were making her uncomfortable.
“What's your relationship with each other?” a reporter asks.
“I'm helping the younger harpies fly.”
The reporters mostly watched, occasionally they would speak to their camera, and it was easy to hear them.
“Most of these harpies are missing wings or mutilated. We suspect that the orphanage—”
“Shut up, pendejo!” One of the kids shouts at the reporters. “We all had these injuries before the orphanage.”
“It’s done by you monsters,” another girl snaps.
“Why do you defend this place?”
“It’s our home,” nearly everyone replies.

The air of attrition on cordiality was fading, for every child was a surveillance camera all going back to Mother Maia. This was not lost on anyone, not the soldiers or the reporters.
The children slowly became guarded. Weary and secretive. It wasn’t lost on the task force that they were no longer welcomed there. The gargoyle creatures that usually only watch began to show themselves more often, the dragons were more active, and they were expanding their territory.
Both sides of the war were left with little progress made, and far more interest in the orphanages. The human side is more than the monster’s.
“Maia,” Abraham walks into the dimly lit office. She looks up, and the veil hangs up on her hat hook. Abraham nodded and sat down. “My old contacts have warned me that the monsters have decided to hack—”
“I understand” Mother Maia responded in a calm tone, “I’ll change a few things. The only thing they will get is the spending log, it’s best.” She smiles and begins to type away.
“There have been talk about monsters adopting—”
“I will not allow it,” Mother Maia looks up, “we both know the children who will be adopted will be sent into the military or worse eaten, I am no fool and neither than you.” Abraham smiles and nods before standing up, his wings doing a small stretch.
“I am glad we are on the same page,” Abraham said with a smile, Mother Maia only nodded and continued to work.
Abraham always knew humans were not equal to monsters in strength, but their intelligence is quite admirable. It’s been centuries since Abraham found a human he could view as equal, but another Maia was that human.
She was articulate and wise for someone who never had a true education. And yet with his simple guidance, she was able to keep her children.
“What about the new disease?” Abraham froze and sighed. Everyone knew at this point, even the humans.
“The Monster scientists have named it Cerebrum deterioration, or as the soldiers call it brain rot.” Abraham studied Mother Maia’s face, most humans couldn't hide their glee when disguising this topic, all except for Mother Maia.
“How pitiful, has it linked to the human resistance?” she sighs the scars across her face rippling with the slight movement of her face.
“No, the scientists said it was discovered rather than made.” Mother Maia nods and continues to write.
“Let's keep informed if a war breaks out this could affect this free state.” Mother Maia said sternly. Abraham agreed. “And when the vaccine is made, be sure to be one of the first to get it, you are a model.” Abraham laughs but nods.
“You are a strange one—”
“I am only being realistic Abraham, even though you've been a pacifist for a few hundred years, you still hold power.”
