Hey.
Yeah you- the person reading this. Stop scrolling for a second.
Youβre going to be okay. You have to believe that. It might take a long time and who knows how much work, but youβre going to be okay.
Youβre going to be okay.
Youβre going to be okay.

Today, my therapist was talking about how the smallest bits of self-care β even making yourself a mug of warm tea β are a way of recognizing your own worth, and how meaningful they are when you really dislike yourself.Β βAfter all,β she said,Β βI donβt know about you, but I donβt often make tea for people I hate.β
And that really hit me, especially because Iβm an acts-of-service kind of person and tea is one of my go-to ways to show people that Iβm thinking about them, care about them, and hope their day could be a little better. So maybe when I make tea for myself, Iβm saying that to myself, too, that Iβm thinking of my own needs, caring for myself, and trying to make my day a little better.Β
And thatβs really important to me because a lot of days I struggle to do basic things to keep myself going and just feel like Iβm self-destructive, only ever making things worseβ¦ but most days I still manage to make myself a mug of tea or two. And itβs good to know that that matters.Β

Sometimes I just fucking lose hope. Am I really putting in this much effort into researching to help better the world just so billionaires can assault and eat babies? Or for huge AI companies to use up all the drinking water? Will there even be any point to any of this?
Heartwarming story: Little girl doesnβt have to do anything to fund her dadβs surgery because his expenses are covered by his countryβs universal healthcare.
Human determination: Man bikes 18 miles to work every morning because he wants to and not because he canβt afford a car and would be fired if heβs late.
Spirit of Brotherhood: Neighbors host housewarming party for elderly resident who doesnβt need help in paying rent because his pension is more than enough.
SO INSPIRING: Local middle school students bake dozens of cupcakes because their home economics class is doing a baking unit. Their school is fully funded with everything they need.
