Hi! I don't know if you take recs but Leading Tone by silencemostofall just updated it's final chapter and if you haven't read it I highly recommend! Soulmate au with a twist, self esteem issues, and orchestra drama!

Summary: The first time you touch someone you're fated to love, you leave a mark on their skin. If they will love you in return, they'll mark you where you touched them. The deeper the color, the deeper the connection.
Wei Ying has no marks at all.
“why do u ship that” honey these assholes ship themselves i am only a vessel
After all, how would other people know the true nature of my heart?

As far as injuries go, the cut on Lan Wangji’s forearm is fairly minor. It does nothing to restrict movement of his arm, and it’s nothing that some herbs and a bandage will not fix, although he’s almost certain it will scar.
It’s not an injury that Wen Qing should be made to personally attend to, but Lan Wangji suspects that Wen Qing has probably, like himself, decided that it would be easier to go with the flow rather than to bear the distress in Wei Wuxian’s face.
“You shouldn’t have done it,” Wei Wuxian says quietly, the moment Wen Qing clears the tent. “Why would you- How could you let yourself get hurt because of me?”
Lan Wangji had acted mostly on instinct earlier, during the battle. It was a slash on Lan Wangji’s forearm, or a direct hit at Wei Wuxian that could’ve resulted in a significantly more serious injury; it had been an easy decision for Lan Wangji to make to block the attack.

rebuttable presumption masterpost
by popular demand, ta-da!
if you’re new to rebuttable presumption, here’s a quick 10 point summary to the verse.
quick answers to FAQs: 1) there is no update schedule, i write when i have the time/inspiration to; 2) none of this is being written in any chronological order, so you don’t necessarily have to read this in order, but if you want to, it’s in the order in this masterpost; 3) there is no chance this will be cross-posted on ao3 before the verse is done, primarily because the non-chronological order of writing will make it messy; 4) do not for any reason at all ever ask me when this is going to be posted on ao3.

Okay, so that entire list is perfect for wangxian and it is so hard to decide and I can't pick between 5 and 12 so please choose the one you like best from those two. ❤
Sorry this took like *checks watch* a whole week to write, but it’s a little longer to make up for it! These were both excellent prompts, but I had to go with 12! Though I adapted it a little to be period appropriate lol. This fic takes place post-canon! Enjoy!
From this prompts list
12. Brings an extra coat/scarf because they know you never check the temperature before going out
“Lan Zhan!” Wei Wuxian called out. He checked his reflection in the mirror as he adjusted his hair ribbon, but the same strands kept escaping and falling in his face. He scoffed; it was what it was. “Lan Zhan, are you ready to leave?”
Lan Wangji did not reply, but Wei Wuxian knew it wasn’t because he hadn’t heard him. He simply refused to shout from across the Jingshi. Wei Wuxian walked to the other room where Lan Wangji was seated at his desk, several papers in front of him. Lan Wangji didn’t even lift his gaze when Wei Wuxian started impatiently tapping his foot.
“No work today, you promised!” Wei Wuxian said, sitting on the floor across from him. “It’s A-Yuan’s day off, we said we would spend it with him in Caiyi Town.”
“I’m sorry. Just received an urgent letter.”
“More urgent than sharing quality time with your husband and son?”
Lan Wangji did raise an eyebrow at that.
“I see you both every day.”
“It’s not the same,” Wei Wuxian sniffed. “Come on, he’s waiting on us.”
“You’ll have to go ahead without me.”
“I’ve never known you to be so callous and cruel. I feel abandoned. Betrayed.”
“Wei Ying,” Lan Wangji sighed. “I will meet with you later.”
Wei Wuxian screwed his mouth to the side and crossed his arms.
“Don’t pout,” Lan Wangji gently scolded.
“I’m not pouting.”
“Later.” Lan Wangji leaned across the desk to kiss Wei Wuxian on the forehead, which did mollify him a bit. “Promise.”
For the Fluff/Angst prompt - WangXian 100. “How did you know where to find me?” 💖
This is a modern au.
The party was in full blast behind him, but Wei Wuxian felt none of the joy. He was braced against the cold February air, the snowy landscape was a diamond encrusted view in the moonlight. The balcony of the hotel ballroom was high enough that the wind cut through every layer of his clothing, but this was better than the bone chilling numbness that the night brought. The champagne glass in his hand was like a dead weight, but Wuxian held onto it like an anchor, keeping him grounded on the dark balcony.
A noise behind made him turn away from the landscape around him. Lan Zhan came to stand right next to him, dressed impeccably in a navy suit. Lan Zhan may be a man of few words, but he was the personification of grace, fit for royalty, unsuited to be around the likes of Wei Wuxian. He fixed his best, most charming smile and turned to the left. “Hey Lan Zhan.”
“Wei Ying.”
Wei Wuxian had to bite his lip to not close his eyes at the sound of that voice, saying that name.
He unstuck his tongue from the roof of his mouth, feeling heated despite the chilly air. “How did you know where to find me?”
Lan Zhan hadn’t turned around to look at him yet, which was the only saving grace so far. “Wei Ying is hard to miss,” Lan Zhan’s voice was even as always, but Wei Wuxian heard the warmth still. This was going to be harder than he thought.
“Congratulations on your return home, by the way,” he side-stepped the dangerous comment. “I hear you’re going to be the new COO for Gusu Tech.”
“Mn.”
Wei Wuxian couldn’t stop the rambling. “Must be great to come back home and work with the family, right?” He fiddled with the champagne glass, reluctant to drink in front of Lan Zhan, even though he felt parched. “Your brother must be happy to have you back, right?”
“Mn. Brother is happy,” Lan Zhan turned his intense gaze towards him, “I’m also happy to return.”
Nervous laughter bubbled up, and Wei Wuxian had to take a sip of champagne to stop himself. “That’s great, Lan Zhan! That’s super great! And your uncle said you are, and I quote finally ready to settle down. He looked very happy about your decision.” There were too many greats in that sentence, but Wei Wuxian couldn’t care right then. “I’m also very happy for you, you know. Lan Zhan deserves someone wonderful in his life, someone to love him forever.”
Lan Zhan’s gaze softened and the slight shift closer to him made Wei Wuxian’s breath catch a little. He could smell the subtle sandalwood and bergamot mix that was Lan Zhan’s signature scent. Wei Wuxian’s head swam a little. He tried to sip the champagne but apparently the glass was empty.
“I would have someone in my life,” Lan Zhan spoke softly, moving forward to take the champagne glass out of Wei Wuxian’s hand, and hold it in his. “If Wei Ying is willing.”
Oh.
Oh.
“Lan Zhan,” he whispered.
“Wei Ying,” Lan Zhan whispered back.
The February air stood no chance against the heat of the kiss.

“You know,” he says, eleven days after he started bringing Lan Xichen his lunch, “the Grand Master has added another twenty rules in these last two weeks alone.”
The door is closed and he’s leaning back against it, forearm braced on his knee as he lounges on the step. From inside, he hears a soft snort that sounds like Lan Xichen heard him.
“Including one specifically about not having any kind of spices in the kitchens, which feels really petty, if you ask me. And one stating, specifically, that no one is,” he mimics the low timbre of Lan Qiren’s voice and the way the older man strokes his beard even though he can’t be seen, “Do not approach or talk to Wei Wuxian.” He huffs out a breath, “Talk about making someone feel unwelcome, Zewu-Jun. I don’t know if I should be honoured or heartbroken that I have become so hated that I have been immortalised on your wall of rules.”
Lan Xichen is in isolation. Wei Wuxian visits him. Together they find their way back to happiness, to clarity and to home.
