i think what bothers me abt "realism" ppl talk abt putting in selfships is it really shows what ppl think a healthy realistic relationship is like. your s/o, fictional or otherwise, should not find you annoying or feel like they dislike a subject and theyre only listening to you ramble because they like seeing you Happy. you should not be having massive fights that lead one of you to sleep on the couch as punishment. you should be able to distinguish "flaws" from "issues that should be talked out maturely" . i get wanting angst and if ur ship is angsty, good for you. if thats fun for you to explore in ships, absolutely do it within reason (eg no abuse). but stop trying to act like its a healthy realistic relationship , because it is not.
