The buzz of chatter sounded in the air as red eyes scanned around, taking in every person who was in the same room as them. It had been a good few years since they’d all managed to meet up and spend time together, especially at an annual event that only a handful of them ever attended at one time.
The glass in their hand was brought up to their lips as they took a drink of the liquid inside, warming sensation sliding down their throat as they swallowed. “You know, I’m surprised you’d decided to come to this, Kiri. Did he drag you along with him?”.
Following the finger of the person he was talking to Kirishima looked toward his blonde-haired best friend and shook his head. “Nah, if anything, I had to convince Bakugou to come along”.
Hearing a snort before a laugh, he grinned showing off his sharp teeth to his other friend, Kaminari, who mirrored his smile. “So aside from the obvious hero work, what else have you been up to? I heard you finally got married, about time!”.
The usually outgoing red-head rubbed the back of his head, laughing nervously as he nodded. “Yeah, took me long enough. You know, as corny as it sounds, she’s my soulmate, my other half. I couldn’t imagine my life without her”.
Placing the glass down on the bar, he decided to mingle a little more with his other classmates that were scattered around, deciding on the group that had Midoriya, Todoroki and Bakugou in the centre. Of course, he managed to slip himself into the group easily, much to the annoyance of the explosion hero.
That’s when he saw you standing just to the side of the group, talking to a few of the girls he’d gone to school with. One hand holding onto a glass, the other resting on your chest. Anyone who was anyone could see the diamond sparkling the light, showing off that you were no longer having eyes for any other, not that you ever did since you met your husband.
Mina, Yaoyorozu and Uraraka gasped when they saw the ring, eyes widening as mina grabbed your hand. “Hey, since when did that happen!?”.
Biting back a laugh, you hummed slightly and tilted your head. “Oh you know, the other day. We just wanted something small between hero work but don’t worry, we’ll be having another celebration soon enough and you’re all invited”.
Cheers sounded as you laughed. Looking over your shoulder at the feeling of eyes on your back, you caught the attention of Kirishima who waved shyly, much to your amusement. Offering a sweet smile you turned your attention back to your circle and continued to talk.
“Well, looks like someone’s caught your attention. Shame you’re spoken for. Looks like I’ll have a chance”. Looking to his side, Kirishima saw Kaminari with a grin on his face as he looked at you, something that never changed from being in school.
“I don’t know man, she’s taken by the looks of it”. A sound almost like a whine left Kaminari as he huffed out, turning his attention back to the group as they chatted.
As the night progressed, so did the chatter and drinks, music playing as bodies danced, some close to their significant other while others stayed in their groups. Not that Kirishima was bothered as he spent most of his night carefully watching you.
You were currently dancing with Mina. Despite the pair of you wearing dresses, you were both managing to pull out some impressive moves.
He looked down at the ring on his finger and sighed, downing the rest of the drink he’d only gotten a few moments ago before making his way over to you, fingers tapping your shoulder.
Turning your attention over your shoulder to see those same red eyes you’d caught staring at you, you smiled brightly and turned around, wrapping your arms around the figure's neck in a hug. “Kiri, how nice of you to join me!”.
Taking a moment to excuse yourself, you pulled away from the male and grabbed his hand, leading him into an empty space on the floor not too far from where you were.
Grabbing ahold hold of his hands you placed them on your hips, fingers lingering a few seconds longer before you raised your arms, draping them over his shoulders as you began moving to the slow music now being played. “Hey”.
A soft smile tugged at your lip as you hummed. “Hey yourself. Couldn’t keep your eyes to yourself I see?”.
Stuttering slightly, Kirishima tried to explain himself before you laughed, pulling him closer to you. “Relax you idiot. You’re allowed to look, Eji”.
Sighing a little, he closed his eyes and rested his forehead against yours, savouring the feeling of you in his arms after what felt like a long day for you both. “I know, I just feel so awkward about it all still. I’m not ready for all the questions yet”.
Moving one of your arms, you placed your fingers under his chin and lifted his head, eyes scanning his and face as you offered a reassuring smile. You knew he struggled when it came to relationships, but you always assured him you’d be there to support him no matter what. “Just relax, you’re doing a great job. We both know it”.
Letting your hand drop, you placed it over his heart as your rings caught the light again. He was nervous, the erratic beating of his heart only confirmed that for you. “Just breathe okay? I’m not going anywhere, promise”.
Offering another soft smile, you looked up only to feel his lips on yours, claiming them in a kiss of every emotion he was feeling at that time. Cheering sound behind you as he pulled back. “Way to go, Kiri! I won’t tell your wife what I saw, don’t worry”.
Looking over your shoulder in the direction of the shout, you shook your head as you laughed, turning your attention back to the red-head who held you in his arms. “Reckon I should put Kaminari out of his misery?”.
That caused him to smile, nodding his head. “Yeah, think you should. I'd hate to sound like Bakugou, but I can’t wait for that extra to shut it”.
Laughing, you wrapped your arms around him again and pulled yourself closer into his body, head resting on his chest as you listened to the beat of his now calming heart. Lifting your head, you placed another kiss on his lips before pulling away, turning to face Kaminari. “Oh don’t worry Kami, I think she already knows. Isn’t that right, my darling husband?”.
The look on everyone’s faces around you turned from shock to confusion, a few changing to a look of knowing as they smiled. You’d both kept it secret for as long as you could, the only exception being Bakugou who caught wind of you both dating one day.
You were thankful to him for keeping quiet, you weren’t ready to let anyone, let alone the world know you were dating the number twelve hero. You’d both wanted to take things slow, getting to know each other without the pressures of your daily missions and lives.
A small mutter of “about damn time you nerds” was heard from somewhere in the small crowd now gathered.
“What the hell!?”. Biting back a laugh, you placed your hand on top of the one that rested on your tummy, fingers lacing as best as they could. “Surprise. I’m the wife”.
A proud smile tugged at your lips as you looked to the side, seeing the same smile on the face of your husband. “Seriously, Kiri, how the hell did you forget to mention you had a whole ass wife, and that wife was her”.
“Don’t know dude, I guess I kinda forgot I was married to her. Still doesn’t feel real”. Looking at you he pecked the top of your head, squeezing your hand as you ran your thumb across the back of his hand.
“Besides, we only wanted a quiet ceremony to start with. You’ll all be invited to the big celebration when we have one”.
Truth be told, Kirishima had forgotten he was married to you. He does for a brief moment each day. It still felt like a crazy dream that he’d wake up from any moment to find himself alone in bed, a bed that you shared with him.
Whenever he looked at you, his mind went blank, it was easy for him to forget he was married to you. He’d even find himself fawning over you, wishing he was the lucky guy responsible for the rings on your finger and the smile you wore.
That was until he looked down and saw the ring on his own finger, a ring you had custom-made for him to be able to wear regardless of whether his quirk was active or not.
At the end of the day, Kirishima would always be that love-sick man who fell head over heels in love with you when you called into his office one day and was forever thankful he was the one you wanted to spend the rest of your life with.
He was married to you and no one else would ever get the chance to be called your husband, your other half but most importantly your best friend for life.

As we continued through the tests, I avoided Izuku. I cared deeply for my friend and watched from the sidelines how he continued to struggle but my brain couldn’t wrap around his quirk. It seemed Katsuki had the same thoughts as he would frown and try to resist the urge to beat our friend up.
“All right, time to give you your results. I’ve ranked you all from best to worst. You should have a good idea of your standing already. I’ll just pull up the whole list. It’s not worth going over each individual’s score.” Mr. Aizawa announced to us all after we finished all the tests. Reading through the names, I was actually surprised to be in the top 10 as my classmates had very impressive powers.
I frowned when I saw Izuku’s name in last place. I watched my friend looking down in defeat that our dreams of becoming heroes coming to an end for him. “Oh I lied about sending someone home. That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all in the tests.” Mr. Aizawa shared casually. Everyone just stood in shock and silence at the news.
Once we were dismissed, I changed and met Katsuki out at the front of the school. We linked hands and started our journey home. I was going to wait for Izuku but I saw that he was chatting with some of our classmates and I smiled. I’m glad that he is making friends.
Katsuki looked to see what I was smiling about and grunted. “I don’t know why you’re smiling, that nerd lied to us.”
I frowned looking at my boyfriend. “I’m upset about it too but he is still my friend. I’ll ask about it later. Right now, I want him to enjoy his win.” Katsuki just nodded accepting my statement and we chatted about other things while we walked.
The next morning I waited for Izuku outside our building. I spent the evening ignoring him as I wanted to have a level head when I spoke with him. When he finally came downstairs, he was silent and awkward as he avoided my gaze. I sighed and we made our walk to the station.
“You did pretty great yesterday with the challenges.” He complimented.
“Oh…uh thanks.” I gave him a small smile. “You did pretty good too given the circumstances. How is your finger doing?”
“Thanks. My finger is ok, it doesn't hurt that bad.” We stayed quiet for a few minutes before he spoke again. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about my quirk, it’s complicated.”
I frowned. “Complicated how?”
“I can’t really say.” He sighed.
I stopped walking to look at him. He looked at me scared, probably waiting for me to yell at him. “I want to stay mad, but I know you better than anyone. You don’t keep secrets so it has to be something serious. Just know I am on your side and if you ever need help, I hope you know you can count on me to be there.”
Izuku teared up a little bit as he pulled me into a hug. “I trust you more than anyone, thank you for always being my friend even when I don’t deserve it.”
I hugged him back. “Alright let’s get to school. We’re gonna have a good day!”
Later in the day, All Might appeared in our class to get us out in the field to do some fight training. From the back I could see Katsuki getting pumped, being able to show off his skills and fight our classmates.
I was excited about our costumes we requested before the school year started. We grabbed our assigned numbers and went to the locker rooms to change. Once we all were ready, we collectively approached the arena where All Might was waiting for us.
All Might went through what today’s activity was going to be. We would be split up into groups, one being heroes and the other being villains. These would be randomly assigned by drawing lots, and since we had an add number, one group would have 3 instead of 2. I pulled the letter “G” which put me in a group with Denki and Jirou.
I was nervous to be in the control room observing as the first group was going to be Katz and Izuku against each other. I can only hope that Iida and Uraraka may be able to help keep Katsuki in check or this won’t go well.
-Timeskip to the end of Round 1-
To say I was shocked how the fight went is an understatement. I was proud that Izuko won but also really worried since he practically injured himself unconcious. I was really pissed with Katsuki as he went too far multiple times but All Might already gave him an earful. I could see Katsuki was lost in his head as we were reviewing the fight we watched.
As the next fight was starting I stood next to my boyfriend and held his hand. He didn’t really grab it back or even acknowledge that I was there. He really was taking this loss hard. I gave it a squeeze and kissed his cheek before walking away to let him be.
I stood next to Mina while we watched our classmates. “So is Bakugo your boyfriend or something?” She asked. I blushed. “Oh yeah. We have been dating for over a year now.”
“Awww that’s so cute.” She pinched my cheek. I slapped her hand away embarrassed and she chuckled. She occasionally would ask questions about our relationship but I would only answer if it wasn’t too personal or anything directly about Bakugo.
Soon enough it was our group’s turn. It was the three of us versus Mineta and Momo as the villains. Since it was three against two, All Might gave the villains ten minutes to prepare instead of five.
When our time started, we decided to walk the halls quietly and cautiously. Jirou used one of her ear plugs and jammed it into the wall to take surveillance of the entire building. She pointed straight above us to indicate where the bomb was. We nodded to each other as we made our way to the correct floor.
Within a few minutes we were in the hallway of the floor we needed to be on. It was odd we didn’t come across them once or any traps. “Do you think they just barricaded themselves in the room with the bomb?” I asked. Jirou decided to listen again before we made our next move.
“If they did, this makes it even easier. Three against two, we can easily get the upper hand.” Denki said as he walked forward, electrifying his hands. “Don’t move!” Jirou yelled but it was too late. Denki tripped a wire causing purple spheres to fall on him and sticking him in place. “Ahh! What is this?” He yelled trying to push it off him, only causing more to stick to his body.
“It looks like Mineta’s quirk.” Jirou commented while avoiding any loose ones on the ground. “There are a few more trip wires like this and they barricaded the door with steel.”
“Can you get me out of here?” Denki whined.
“I’m not touching you.” Jirou shook her head.
The gears we’re turning in my head on how we could approach this while my teammates argued with each other. With Denki not being able to use his strength, it would fall on me to provide the muscle but the amount of energy I need to muster will weaken me pretty quick which means we get one shot at this.
“Jirou, are you able to exactly pinpoint where the villains are standing and where the bomb is located in the room?” I asked.
“Yeah I think so. Do you have a plan?” she asked.
We whispered to each other my plan and they seemed on board with it. Well Denki had concerns but he wasn’t exactly in a position where he could say no. I stepped up and took a few deep breaths. My eyes started to glow as I created a large rectangular shadow to function as a battering ram and used all my strength to push it forward with speed and into the door. It seemed to work as it crushed the door and the steel pipes barricading it open.
Jirou shouted out the positions the villains jumped to to avoid the debris of impact. I created an orb around Denki and charged him forward into the room along with smaller orbs to gather more of Mineta’s purple globs that started trickling down from tripping more wires. Momo got caught in some of the loose globs unable to move but Mineta was able to avoid them as they didn’t affect him.
Jirou ran forward in the direction of the bomb as I released Denki from my orb. He was ready to release his electricity as Mineta was throwing more of his purple spheres at Jirou. I quickly created a wall to shield Jirou from the impacts. Denki’s power had range and hit myself, Momo, and Mineta causing all of us to scream from the shock but I held strong to protect Jirou so she could grab the bomb.
“HEROES WIN!” All Might shouted in our earpieces. I smiled in victory, flinching a little from the pain. I could feel my nose bleeding a little bit but chuckled at Denki’s face from overdoing it himself but nevertheless he gave me a thumbs up. Jirou came over and hugged us both smiling in joy from the victory.
The five of us walked back to the control room slowly recovering from the fight. Our classmates shared their praises and All Might reviewed how we did before moving onto the next group.
I felt my hand being grabbed and pulled away from the group. Katuski had me face him and he gently pulled my mask down to see the small bit of blood dried under my nose. He grabbed a little bit of gauze from a nearby first aid kit and gently wiped it away.
I stared at him holding my breath as he worked on my face. He gently grabbed my face afterwards and looked at my face as a whole. His eyes were a mix of annoyance, concern but pride. “You did really good.” he whispered. I smiled gently as I threw my arms around him for a hug. He grunted a little in shock but returned the hug holding me tight and nuzzling his face into my neck. I could feel him sniffing me a little and sighing. Maybe he needed the comfort more than I thought.
Author Notes
So I don't think I think I will write anymore episodes as I have been doing. They just be random on shots in different moments of the show and maybe at some point more into the future when they are adults. I'm not sure yet, I'll just let it happen when it happens. Also when I was creating Koi's hero costume, it reminded me of nightcrawler from X-Men haha.
