Concept:

Post game side adventure of Link helping Zelda, who has post being-a-dragon amnesia, remember her life to the tune of "No Matter What" from the Steven Universe movie.

Something something Zelda gets brought back from being the light dragon but she's been one for so long she forgor everything ala link in botw and post-game side adventure where she comes with you to places from her memories, (dragon tears + places from botw) and in like a mirror to the end of the puppet Zelda storyline you do end up back in the throneroom of hyrule castle but that's where she has the pieces snap together and maybe teriko is there idk thank you for coming to my Ted talk

This time, I’m not actually complaining about TVtropes.

I’ve been watching an LP of the Dredge, a fishing Lovecraftian horror exploration game, and I notice how Diverse™ it is. It’s supposed to be set in a vaguely new-Englandish series of islands, but there’s a lot of women and non-white people.

I guess that’s just what you have to do these days when you do something Lovecraftian, to show you’re Not Like Lovecraft.

But;

So this game’s universe specifically has 1940s gender roles, yet it also has a lot of women in jobs that would most likely be held by men. Plus modern day big-city ethnic diversity. 

If you’re going to make your game unrealistically diverse, don’t contradict that diversity. Just be consistent.

If you can’t do that, you just come off as insincere.

If all you want is an aesthetic without the time period it comes from, then either don’t have enough lore to need to explain things like this(Cuphead is a great example, with a plot that can fit into about two sentences) or go whole-hog and just create an entirely new world so you can write whatever the hell kind of places/societies you want(while I personally don’t like it, I highly respect Disco Elysium for the amount of worldbuilding it did and wish that there were alot more games willing to make worlds that detailed/lived in).

I just realized...

The reason the the objects the fisherman finds are always enormous but distort down to a more realistic size when the collector handles them is because of that thing where no matter how close or far you are from the mirror, your image is always half your actual size. (🧼)

Therefore, the perception we/the fisherman has of these objects being massive is a distortion because we're so close to the reflection of it...
