There’s so much I hate about school… where do I even start? My PE teacher uses his ADHD to excuse his bad behavior, he’s transphobic, he gets upset when I use the bathroom during class. Math is impossible for me because my autistic ass can’t number good. My student dean is an asshole who abuses his power like crazy. Nothing in school is made for autistic people or systems, all the kids in this school say slurs constantly. N-slur, f-slur, t-slur, slur slur slur… the teacher for “Special Kid Math” gets pissy whenever we ask more than two questions per class and is extra shitty after lunches for some damn reason. And yeah… I h8 my school.

this might be considered a "hot take" among sysblr, but i genuinely don't get why people act like you arent allowed to be uncomfortable with "doubles".

i personally have never had an issue with it, none of us really do. but i get it. i understand.

that person is "you". but they aren't you. they're too similar to you to be comfortable, but too different for it to be like looking in a mirror. sometimes their friends and family are "your" friends and family, but they aren't yours. maybe they remember life the same way you do, maybe everything is completely different.

in my source i was traveling the multiverse. hundreds of thousands of variations of the same world; some nearly identical to eachother, some so different that you would never think that they were connected. and telling people this for the first time, well.. they never liked that. several of them got used to it eventually, and even became friends with the other versions of themselves! but nobody i met ever took kindly to it at first. they were always uncomfortable with it. and that makes sense! that's a perfectly normal reaction to learning something like that!

obviously introjects are not carbon copies of their sources, and just because two people have the same source doesn't mean that they're the same person. nobody should think that. it's just objectively wrong. but people are allowed to feel uncomfortable with "doubles" as sysblr calls them.
