“Alright.. we can’t SERIOUSLY still be on this subject, can we? They have both been happily married ( debatable on the other side of things, but that’s beside the point ) for YEARS now. @drelenagilbrt​ fell right back into Damon’s arms after a measly what? – two weeks of begging on his end? She didn’t go looking for sympathy in the arms of my husband like some lost puppy dog. Now, if that doesn’t say something about her current feelings for Stefan.. then I totally don’t know what will. @stefcnsalvatcre​ and Elena are FRIENDS. Sure, they will always have love for each other. I respect that. I KNOW that. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest, because I know that Stefan loves me. He loves our family. Unlike his brother, he’s not out to ruin marriages and shack up with his best friends’ wives and create some messed up love pentagon. So, from now on – let’s be original, shall we? I’m sick of hopping on the Stelena train and riding it down memory lane.”

Tyler only watched as Caroline took care of the situation. He shrugged off his jacket and, once the blonde finished compelling and healing the girl, passed it to her. “I’ll walk you home…” The wolf nodded as he sighed. “What was that, Caroline?” He questioned; he wanted to make sure she was okay. 

A weak smile would be used as a replacement for a ‘thank you’ as the blonde draped his jacket over her shoulders. As a vampire, she didn’t technically need it -- and she knew that he knew -- but even so, the simple gesture seemed to calm her nerves just a tad. She trailed behind the man as they walked, shamefaced. At his question, Caroline wanted so badly to snap at him -- listing off things like I’m FINE, and don’t worry about it.. but this was Tyler. So, the woman collected herself with a deep breath of crisp winter air. “I just.. I haven’t fed all day. I lost control for a moment, that’s all.” It was a half-truth, but in her mind, it was better than a complete lie. The urge to kill was always there. It would always be there. But lately, it became harder and harder to suppress the urges with her humanity tank running on empty. Part of her wanted to care -- she had to for the sake of her family. But the other part? There was a darkness brewing inside of her. “I’m sorry, Tyler. I’m sorry you found me like this.”

“Do you like them?” Isabella asked while flaunting the flowers in her arms. “They’re for my moms. Today is the day… I’m going to sweet talk them into buying me a car, or a horse. Whichever idea they dislike less.”

“For those flowers, I’d spring for twelve horses.” The woman let a small laugh pass her lips, admiring the bouquet for a fleeting moment before her gaze returned to Ivy’s. “Your moms will love them -- ah, I have to ask. Wouldn’t it just be easier to have Lily or Elliot compel a car salesman or something? Not the best way of going about things, but.. I’m sure there would be a lot less buttering up to do on your end.”

lily walked proudly through the empty streets dragging her latest victim by their foot behind her. she hummed one of her favorite songs as she thought about the more than pleasant encounter she had with somewhat of a female  f r i e n d . she turned the corner into the alley way and came to an abrupt stop when she noticed someone standing there. her first instinct was to go into attack mode ( after she stopped humming of course ) but then she made out who it was and what lay before them. caroline forbes, ocd extraordinaire and barbie vampire milf caught red handed, dare she say,  f e e d i n g  ?? a giant smile made it’s way across the hybrid’s features as she let out a lighthearted laugh “am i allowed to say SAME ? ” lily lessened the gap between them and let her victim drop next to caroline’s. “we should get matching t-shirts”

She’d say she was surprised to see Lily Hildegard -- rounding the corner into the same alleyway with a limp body being dragged behind her -- except for the fact that she totally wasn’t. Being stuck in the same small town, Caroline had watched all of the kids grow up, so she’d come to expect this behavior from the young woman. It certainly wasn’t a rare occasion to see Lily blatantly disregarding human life. What were the kids saying these days? #SADTRUTH? Light orbs followed her every movement -- skittishly jumping at the sound of the girls’ victim being plopped next to ‘hers’. Defensively, Caroline folded her arms over her chest. “Matching t-shirts? Ha-ha -- very funny.” There was no question in her mind that Lily was prepared to take full advantage of the vulnerable state that she was in. With her humanity switch dancing on the thin line between ‘on’ and ‘off’, and the hunger practically growling at her.. Caroline wanted nothing more than to just be at home -- nursing a glass of B Negative straight out of a blood bag, watching Gone with the Wind.

“I do believe you, I want to believe you. But… I mean, I don’t know.” Ivy felt a lump in her throat, it wasn’t that she didn’t believe her, but it was jarring to come face to face with the reality of what her parents were, what she would eventually be. “I know you’d never intentionally hurt anyone.”

“Ivy, I promise -- I would never.” Frantically shaking her head, Caroline felt a pit of regret form in her stomach. If she’d never stopped to try and help the poor girl, she would’ve never been in this mess. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t have been in her nature to turn a blind eye to the blood curdling screams -- knowing that she could’ve prevented an unnecessary death. She just wished Ivy, of all people, didn’t have to see her in such a vulnerable, monstrous state. “Let’s just go home.” Her mind was set on the freshly stocked blood bags in the refrigerator in their kitchen. “I’ll give Matt a call, and he’ll take care of.. him.” Her eyes darted down to the vampire who’s neck she’d broken in the process.

Evan had been walking through the cold air after going his separate way after leaving Eirik at his home after another ‘date’. He had a small smile placed on his lips after receiving his mom’s text and was only a few blocks away from his mother’s work. He changed his course of direction and spotted the blonde after he had turned the corner as she exited the news station. He stopped when he heard a scream and his mother disappeared from his sight. He approached the alleyway with caution and stood dead in his tracks watching the scenes unfolding in front of him. 

He had never seen his mother or his father full on vampire before and seeing his mother’s dark eyes and veins had frightened the blonde. He tried to speak but barely let out a whisper. “Mom..ma…” He said as he swallowed and his feet felt fixed to the ground. His instincts wanted to run despite knowing this was his mother. His eyes fixed on the woman who had given birth to her. 

Round eyes widened even further as she came to recognize the familiar voice. Evan. She’d never wanted any of her children to bear witness to her monstrous form -- especially not in a dark moment such as this. A million thoughts flooded her mind. Would her son be forever horrified and scarred by this moment? By her? Would she never be able to hug him again -- smother him in cheek and forehead kisses before he left the house -- without him flinching away? Or, even worse, would Evan be INTRIGUED by this side of vampirism? This was a worry she’d carried with her ever since the twins were born. Would they gravitate toward the dark side of the supernatural? It kept her up most nights. But now, she finally was forced to face the fears. She took a cautious step forward, shaking her head. “Evan, my little peanut -- this is not what it looks like. It’s me, see?” Her features grew soft, no longer veiny and sinister. “I was just trying to help her. Please, PLEASE don’t be afraid of me. I -- I’ll heal her. And.. then we’ll go home.”

“Uh…Care?” Tyler asked hesitantly. He wasn’t automatically jumping to the worst possible conclusion, but the scene in front of him also didn’t look too good. “Do you think you could heal her?” Ty suggested, walking deeper into the alleyway. “-and maybe also compel her to forget all of this? We can go get you some blood bags or something…”

She parted her lips to speak, but a faint, cowardly “Tyler?” was all she could manage. Realizing the situation at hand, damn well near instantaneously, Caroline wiped the crimson residue off onto her skirt. If she was quick with the proper cleansing methods, the stain would come right out. If anything, she was the most embarrassed about the person who’d come to find her in such a fragile state. A simple nod of her head would take the place of a yes, and in turn, she bared her fangs and buried them into the flesh of her arm. Stepping closer to the bloodied victim, the blonde pressed her wrist to the girls’ lips. “Here, drink. I’m so sorry -- I’m not usually like this. Just.. forget this. You had a little too much to drink, bartender cut you off, so you stumbled your way home.” She spoke with dilated pupils, and as the girl staggered away ( now woundless, all thanks to a little vampire blood ), Caroline turned to the werewolf. “Will you just.. walk me home? Please? Don’t tell anyone about this.” Her gaze finally matched his, but only through a shield of full lashes, heavy eyelids, and a small frown painted onto her lips.

He was relieved that she had ran into his embrace instead of trying to push him away. It would’ve been a understandable reaction, but he much preferred this. For a moment, he nearly forgot about what he’d been doing a few minutes ago ─ until he pulled back, distance being established between them as it became clear by her horrified gaze that she had noticed the scent of blood on his clothes. How could she not? Caroline didn’t have to say anything in order for him to know what was going through her head. A bunch of questions, he was sure. Probably guilt as well. He hated it… hated himself for being the one to put that look on her face. He had suggested leaving, but he seemed to be glued to his spot too. Looking down in a mixture of shame and regret, Stefan didn’t vocalize an answer; merely nodded in confirmation. He knew what she was really asking and she’d know what he was saying. “I’m sorry… I’m so sorry.”

Her features seemed to melt slowly into a heartbroken frown as he nodded. This was her fault after all, wasn’t it? Her husband was struggling, and it was all her damn fault. Yes, Stefan had always had a.. blood addiction, if you will. But, when he’d finally found something to cope with the desire to feed on human blood, Caroline had practically begged him to cut it out. She just figured that he’d always managed ( if you could call it that ) to just deal on his own, and with her help. The woman would never be able to understand just how difficult it was for her husband. She’d never be able to put herself in his shoes. A few moments of steadied breathing, and she would be able to resist. As a wife, as a mother, as a vampire -- she just didn’t know what to do. What was right? She often wished there was some sort of guidebook on this stuff. Vampire Marriage 101: Managing Your Ripper Husband. Letting her hands grip firmly on his forearms, as if holding Stefan down into reality, she mustered up all of the strength she could just to look into his eyes. “Stefan, look at me.. please? It’s OKAY.” Starting out a tad shaky, Caroline’s voice grew stronger. She had to be strong for the both of them. She glanced over at the wounded girl who’d now sunk down to prop herself up against a dumpster. First things first, they needed to get away from this source of fresh blood. It was only making things worse. She felt her own hunger forming a pit in her stomach. “We need to leave. Let’s go home -- get you cleaned up. ”

“Give me that nasty look all you want but your husband saw my puppy and for a second thought about eating her so” Elena pouted at the blonde using her joke with Stefan to prove a point. She knew there was no one who could say to once a determined Caroline and she admired that about her friend. At the mention of ways on how to spoil her puppy, Nina’s head snapped up  with her big brown eyes looking at her friend. “And leave them at your house so when she’s wear you can walk around with her dressed like that. I prefer more casual stuff.” She chuckled already picturing Caroline making those purchases online. “Oh and I wanted to tell you that Bonnie and I are now on speaking terms. It’s not like it used to be, we still need time, but we’re both set on fixing up our friendship.”

Caroline certainly could’ve countered with a human-eating, straight from the vein joke about Damon, but she refrained. It would’ve been too.. dark. So, instead, she settled simply on a playful roll of her eyes. “Not to worry. I already have a spot in mind to build a little puppy clothes closet -- I can already see Stefan’s face when I tell him about this new project. Mrs. Maverick will be treated like the furry little queen that she is during her stays at my house. She’ll know it’s only okay to wear designer at Auntie Care’s.” An excited smile remained plastered on her lips. First the holiday season, and now a new fluffy addition to the Salvatore family tree? It seemed as if the universe was begging her to keep it together -- nobody wanted a humanity-less Caroline Forbes-Salvatore. That’s for damn sure. “You and Bonnie?” Clasping her hands together, the blonde nearly jumped for joy. It’d been too long since the trio had been united. It was the universe calling again. It had to be. She barely heard the fact that her two friends still needed some time to work it out. It was absolutely understandable, but Caroline just couldn’t contain her happiness. “This is SO EXCITING! Does this mean we can have girl nights again? Why don’t we have an adult slumber party at my house? I already know what movies we’re going to watch.”

“Wait.” Beaux replied walking over to the door signaling to one of the co workers not to let anyone in before he closed them. “Sorry, but not everyone here is aware of the supernatural and I don’t want to explain them all if they heard us” H said motioning for her to sit down if she wanted as he took Matt’s place. “Yeah, he had to go around, got a call but if you need to talk, I can hear you out” He shrugged his shoulders, after all his boss was her friend and maybe she didn’t want to share whatever happened to her with someone who could be her kid.

Hesitantly, she took the seat offered to her. Caroline wasn’t a liar. If anything, she’d just conceal the important details of the truth if it meant to safe her skin. “You might want to keep an eye out for a slob of a vampire -- dark hair, dark eyes, large nose, about yea high.” She motioned the man’s approximate height with her hand. “I was on my way home from at long night a work, heard the screams. There was a bit of a struggle between myself and the other guy, but I managed to snap his neck. Should keep him down for a little while longer. Just figured I’d let someone know.” She twiddled her thumbs in her lap before reaching for her purse. Beaux wasn’t an idiot. Surely, he’d ask about the girl who’d been attacked. Her mouth watered as she recalled the smell of the blood on her fingers. She was getting antsy at the point. It’d been too long since she’d last fed. Her mind drifted off to her freshly stocked fridge -- full of blood bags. “His late night bite, the girl? She’s fine. I took care of it. Anyway.. I’d better get going. It’s been a long night, and I’ve yet to have anything to eat.”
