you know what is almost more devastating to me than the rooftop scene is the moment when pran has to pick the fruit up at the mall.

ming pushes him and he drops the bag he was carrying, the fruit spills out over the floor and pran doesn't let pat help him. he just sends pat away to reconcile with his dad, because he knows better than anyone how much pat will regret not talking to his dad. on his own quietly puts the fruit one by one back into the bag, trying not to cry.

like this afternoon together buying fruit to share, joking about marrying each other and by extension buying fruit and simply being together in simple acts for the rest of their lives... it's so similar to the market scene in episode 6 where for that brief while they get to forget everything outside of picking produce and savouring their time with one another.

and despite their parents they've managed to love so strongly and take real joy in these seemingly small acts, because they had never been attainable before. but that bubble is once again shattered when ming pushes pran, the fruit spills, and he picks it up alone.
