March 19, 2017.
Wow, I haven’t been here in a while!
Well, I always come back when I need it the most I guess.
To update anyone who might still be following me, we’ve decided to stop trying to conceive for at least a year. My husband’s parents are taking out a $15,000 loan to help us get out of debt and we’re going to focus on paying that off. It’s sad, really, because the only reason we need the help is because of the medical debt from my miscarriage. Oh well, things happen. It’s just an eye opener really. We’ve come really far but we have a lot farther to go.
And while I am super sad about this decision, legit it makes me cry to think about it, I am kind of relieved and happy. This gives me a whole year to work on myself, on weight loss. It gives me a year to be the best me and prepare to be the best mom I can be for my child. And after this year transforms my body, maybe it won’t be so broken. And maybe, just maybe, it won’t be so hard or take so long to get pregnant.
It’s a good thing, really. I need to tell myself this every day because it truly is. It just hurts to be at this point.
With that said, we’re not really trying to get pregnant but we aren’t going to prevent either. And if it happens, it is a miracle and it was meant to and it will be our time. If we get pregnant in this year we’re taking off, we were meant to have the baby. It was a divine gift at that point.
Anyway! On to happier things! I will likely change the title of this blog to something other than FightForFertility in a few days when I can think of something more appropriate. But I am back. Lets focus on health and weight loss and financial security, yeah!!
December 1st and 2nd, 2016.
So the first was a weird day. I tried really hard to stay on track with my goals. I took my prenatal and I didn’t eat anything unhealthy for most of the day. Actually I barely at at all. I had a beef jerky stick for breakfast, a bag of mixed nuts for lunch, another jerky on my break and then later I had two slices of ham and two slices of cheddar cheese. Then when my husband and I got downtown we broke down and each had a steamed bun (these weird BBQ pork filled dumpling things) from the station market. We got home and I made us each a salad of spring mix, shrimp and cheese with Caesar dressing. We did not workout, however.
Today was much worse: We completely broke our diet. It was shopping day so we were limited on what we had in the house. I made us Brown N Serve maple sausage links and scrambled eggs with shredded cheddar for breakfast. For lunch we went out to Carl’s Jr. We got way too much food there. I then went shopping for groceries. When I got back we put away the groceries and then went to go buy me some clothes for my job interview I have the middle of next week. We got dinner while we were out. Now we’re home and we likely won’t work out tonight either.
BUT those were my days, for documentation purposes. On to a better December!
Non-Scale Victory?
I had to buy some new pants for an interview I have next week. I thought that a 22 would fit a tad loose and a 20 would be a touch tight? Turns out an 18 fits just right! This is the smallest I have been in 8 years!
Alright December. Here we come.
I weigh 248.9 this morning. Hoping to be 239 by January 1st unless I am pregnant.
We’re almost to December!
I am so excited. :) For so many things. I am excited to officially start my diet (even though I have been eating pretty well and have lost a couple pounds), I am excited to start working out, I am excited to get caught up on my bills, I am excited to find out if I conceived (and if I didn’t I am excited to start a new cycle and try again in the new year). I am just excited, okay? 2017 is going to be a great year. I am going to make sure of that.
Plan for December, 2016
I think I am going to do this every month near the end of the month. So November didn’t go as I had hoped, but I did make some serious progress toward my better lifestyle. So, here’s my plan for 2016 and my immediate and short term goals. Because having goals helps you stay on track.
In December I will:
hit my step goal 6 days out of the week,
no eating out (we need to break this addiction),
no sugar or refined carbs,
30 minutes on the elliptical 3 times a week.
Top 10 Goals for 2017.
Get pregnant.
Get my A1C to a healthy range.
Get my weight under 200 pounds.
Eat a healthy diet with minimal carbs and sugar.
Hit my step goal at least 6 days out of the week.
Stick to a cleaning schedule so my house is never too messy.
Only eat at restaurants for special occasions.
Save at least $40 a month.
Start buying the non-gender specific baby items we’ll need.
Learn to not worry so much.
