heartwarming! the kindest person you've ever trauma bonded with not only knows your ugliest secret but she also kept it for decades and even forgave you a little bit and also kinda desires you carnally and sees your value as a person and even identifies with you on a fundamental level! which maybe might mean you are not completely bad and unlovable! sure she'll die a stupid pointless death at your hand mere hours after you got her back but in the cruel and punishing universe you live in this is the closest thing to real love and true forgiveness you're ever gonna get! and you both know that!

When people say Natalie hates Misty but she’s in reality the only one besides Jackie who didn’t judge her for being an outcast who didn’t fit in. And eventually she began to love her and her company since they accept each other’s flaws.

So if the episode Thanksgiving (Canada) truly took place during thanksgiving in canada, that’s early/mid October, and that’s when the froggers show up. We don’t know how much time passes between then and the finale, but it can’t be any more than a couple weeks so maybe it’s early November at the very latest. Which means they still have about two months out there most likely.

Which raises the question of what the hell is Natalie going to do for two months. She can’t stay on that mountain, she can’t stay out in the woods alone. Going back to the group would spell disaster for her with Shauna on her warpath, so what will she do? Here is my completely self indulgent idea of what I think should happen.

Natalie comes back but doesn’t rejoin the group because she is Shauna’s #1 opp and needs to stay hidden. She takes refuge in the caves that once housed Ben through the winter, that he once invited her to hide in with him (tragic parallel and all that). Misty finds out (tragic parallel to when Misty thought Nat knew where Ben was hiding and ratted her out to Shauna) but this time keeps it a secret and helps her with supplies and stuff, and Natalie is not really in a position to refuse her help, building up this oh so complicated bond they share.

Because at this point, yeah, Misty is in on the phone fixing plan and knew Nat took off with it, but because she destroyed the transponder that trust is still really broken. We can understand how Misty is so attached to Nat (for not telling on her) but there still needs to be more to get them to how they were in the adult timeline, particularly on Nat’s side. This is my dream for how that can happen. Thank you for attending my Ted Talk.
