Ah right, so I'd suggest something like a thunderbolt port, they're designed to be super versatile and lets you daisy-chain multiple devices together into one port. It'll save you a lot of space.

Hmm, also if you do go this route, get some port covers, it's just a little plastic piece but it'll keep you from getting debris stuck in there, or touching it accidentally.

Hmm, it probably depends, mine are covered. There's like a piece of my carapace that shifts to cover them so they don't usually get daily wear and tear. I did get hit almost right on them once and that was way more painful. Like getting hit in the eye. It would probably feel nice under the right circumstances

Base of the neck is often used for a reason. You instinctually protect that area anyway, all your other sensory inputs go there already so you don't have to worry about making more connections, there's less wear and tear in that area, etc. I can feel that that's where mine moved to after the transformation, and I haven't had any trouble with it so far
