âfestiFIGHT ! ! ! ! âŹÂ âŹÂ âŹ
[â] Flower festival has begun and thereâs no mistaking it. The stars of the party are blooming all over adding not only to the view but to the scents as well. Thereâs tranquility for those that go seeking for it, fun for those that choose to enter the louder activities.
Festival isnât a festival without crowd and itsâ noises mixing together. Some louder than othersâŠA certain stall is gaining attention. No one approaches it  - someone already got hurt trying, they wonât dare. Children who stare get their eyes hidden by the parents. .Â
In the center you can find a woman her foot on the counter of the shooting gallery. Itâs quite a feat given that sheâs wearing heels and a mermaid dress. Inha has the stall clerk on his grip. Her eyes glinting wildly her forehead against the poor guyâs. Sheâs oozing the kind of atmosphere thatâd keep most away.
â You think you can just do that HUHHHHHH? â
â Either give me my money back or give the damn prize! No one likes cheaters right???!!!! â
She slaps him on both cheeks with her free hand carefully manicured fingernails scratching his cheeks on the process.Â
   âHey, lady. You mind?âÂ
Sure, it wasnât like it was his job to interfere. Nor did he particularly care as to whether or not the guyâs gig was legit or not -- hell, that was a chance you had to take in places like this, even if it was disappointing. Heâd been jilted a few times as a kid, even ( and maybe heâd launched a few death threats of his own, but hey, whatever ). Though the obnoxious shouting was what drew his attention, what kicked his frustration in gear and forced him to walk over with hands in pockets. Well, hand in pocket. His other hand had already lashed in an attempt to wrap around her wrist, purely in reflex.Â
He wasnât afraid to hit a girl, of course. But heâd at least like to know what her freakinâ problem was first.
There wasnât an ounce of apprehension in his tone.
âNo need to get your panties all in a bunch over some stupid prize... -- look, youâre scaring all the kids away. This is supposed to be a fun-zone, not a war-zone. You sure youâre not just a crappy shot? Letâs see you give it one more go.â
Carnival games werenât exactly the sort of soul-sucking entertainment heâd been looking for, but Yusuke needed something to dull the edge that kept on ticking. But what the hell was he going to do with all these weird prizes? Ugh.Â
âTch, whatever. Hey, you want this... uh. Bug-eyed... goldfish thing? I guess itâs kind of cute? If you squint your eyes a little. I donât need any of this plush junk.â Shit. He hadnât been to a festival in a while -- not since he was a kid, at least.
The sun rises, and the moon sets; a story as old as time. Nothing appears out of the ordinary to those early risers among the citizens in Hive City. For those who live in sector six there is something within the tree laden part of the city that has only happened once before. Signs pop up elsewhere along the other sectors, pointing a certain direction that indicate you to follow. In a large clearing of sector six a ring of mushrooms, as tall as three story buildings, waits openly for all of Hive City to come and visit. A sign holds on the entree way that reads âWelcome To All Those Who Choose to Enter.â
Inside is an array of sounds, smells, and sights for the faire goers to enjoy. Shops line the mushroomâs that make the walls of the Flower Festival were one can purchase handcrafted items and art. If one follows their nose they will find an array of different foods and wines to satisfy even the pickiest of eaters! Small crowds are littered about as they shift from scene to scene, but most of all you notice the bright colors and shapes of flowers that seem to appear on almost every surface.
                   Welcome to the Flower Festival.

The kid was holding his own, he had to give him that. Well, far more than Wade thought heâd manage to anyway. Not that he doubted the kid but heâd learned that when people talked big in this city it usually meant that their mouths were bigger than their dicks. Metaphorically speaking. Naturally, Wade didnât shut his mouth. Tossing in salad jokes when heâd rend one of the heads from one of the fly traps on the wall. Honestly, it was a little too ease.
So, when they reached the next floor, a deep rumble filled the corridor⊠right as Wade tossed a few dice in Yusukeâs direction.
âI spent over a hundred bucks on these things!â He holds up the rather large bag of twenty-sided dice for emphasis, âWeâre rollinâ âem every chance we get! Some lame Indiana Jones rip-off is nothinâ compared to the importance ofââ He stopped talking for the briefest of instances when Yusuke fell.
Wade picked up the pace, moving forward quickly and slamming the blade of his sword into the sheath on his back. He ducked low while he ran, scooping Yusuke up and settling him across his shoulder. He also managed to save the dice. After all, it wouldnât do to piss off the gods of the dice rolls. âSee?! You pissed them off! You rolled a one and fell on your ass. Now, did ya see what I did there? I rolled a natural 20 and saved your sorry ass from beinâ a pancake. A pancake, mind you, that I wouldnât eat. So youâd just kinda beâŠyâknow⊠sittinâ there.â
All while this was going on, he was running just as fast as he had been before. His costume was tattered in some spots like his shoulder and side from where fly traps had gotten him. And heâd managed to avoid spears, surprisingly. The flesh beneath the torn spots, however, had already healed. âDoes baby think he can run on his own or does papa need to carry him all the way home?â
The temptation to kick and jab at his savior was intense. The kind of intense youâd only get from a rush of adrenaline pumping like a hand reaching down your throat. Yusuke dug dirty nails into the older manâs shoulder, nearly reeling slightly from the unexpected feeling of being tossed about on his shoulder. The sheer fact that the path was narrow and bumpy and that heâd been looking far too closely at pebbles bouncing hard against the rocky floor in his momentary daze didnât do much for help either.
âLook, I appreciate the gesture, old-timer -- â He said, partly flustered and frustrated and with a bit of a cough. Being tossed around like luggage for a while was hell. âBut if you think Iâm just gonna just ride on your coattails to glory without doing a damn thing, then weâve got a real problem here. Lemme show you just how useful the great Urameshi Yusuke is, to start. Watch and learn!â
One shot. Just like old times, when he hadnât a single clue as to what a âspirit detectiveâ even was, when suddenly he was saddled with a grab-bag of annoying responsibilities he didnât even want. When peopleâs lives were in danger and the only one they had to count on was some middle-school kid whoâd rather be up in a parlor counting a brass bucket of balls under enough lights to drive a man blind.
But over time, heâd changed. Found that the only thing heâd ever been good at was actually worth something, was worth lending to others. And that was why Yusuke twisted and wiggled and aimed a pointed finger like a gun straight towards the giant, tumbling boulder.
One shot, Yusuke. Better make it count.
  âREI GUN -- !!!âÂ
It was a bright, blue energy -- shooting straight like a bullet. It pulsed through the air and pierced straight into the boulder, albeit only with enough power to shatter it into large chunks that sailed far enough to bounce off unseen walls and all around the room.
Yeah, okay. That was enough being hit on by online strangers to last a life-time. Never again.
rollâforâluck
HE HAD TO hand it to the guy -- things had been rough at the start, what with the man-eating plants nipping at their ankles and the very walls of the dungeon nearly coming alive with gaunt flora that hadnât seen prey in years. But the two had quick reflexes, and Yusuke himself managed to come out with only a mildly singed shoulder (stupid plants) and a couple scratches. That familiar adrenaline pumped in his chest, made him feel alive -- and forced forward the thought that this would all be worth it. Trusting some guy heâd only known for a few days would be worth it, damn it.
That is, until they hit another floor and a pair of dice were unceremoniously tossed at him. He juggled the pair of 20-sided die in his hands and followed Wade at full-speed, all the while hollering various obscenities as a massive rumbling chased them.
"The hell!? Do you seriously expect me to roll these?! Right here -- right NOW? Youâd think there would be more important shit we should be worrying about, like, MAYBE the giant-ass boulder right behind us? Shit!âÂ
-- but maybe heâd been too eager. Too eager to find some sort of worth in this place where he had nothing, because suddenly he wasnât running. Suddenly heâd tripped and lost his footing on the narrow path, all the dice cluttering to the floor as he spiraled forward.
@doorknobwielder
âŠâŠâŠ â âNow, Iâm just saying, but⊠If someone had me in their team, their dungeon crawl would be easy peasy! Thatâs the Liz-chan guarantee!â Are you trying to join a team or film an infomercial?
âOkay, so... and? What can you even do? Tell me that frilly get-up doesnât mean youâre some kind of performer or whatever. A smooth dance number isnât gonna cut it when it comes to smashing heads.â
THEREâD BEEN TALK through-out the streets. Talk of a holiday that he often forgot, that he often never had the chance nor the will to celebrate. There was never any guarantee sheâd be there, truly be up there whenever their eyes met and heâd gauged whatever sort of clarity he could find, like he always did. Not that it was anything beyond irritating at times, really -- or maybe. Maybe it was just that Yusukeâd grown accustomed to cleaning up after a woman was barely awake or even around whenever heâd storm into the house.
Shit. What was he getting so sentimental for? It mustâve been this place, or the quiet of his shoddy little apartment. He took one last, long drag and then scattered the ashes to the floor with a quick flick.
Well, whatever. Sheâd be fine. She was fine. There were enough red, wilting petals scattered across the apartment floor to fill at least twenty vases for her if he wanted to, as Puu had seemingly spent the whole afternoon collecting them without his knowledge.
And she probably would've liked that, huh?
âHaha. Thatâs hilarious. Itâs called a dungeon for a reason. Naturally, you need to go in with a group of adventurers. I mean, I could do it by myself but whereâs the fun in that? And who knows? Iâm at least a level 20 Ranger.â A brief pause. âOh? I didnât know you knew me. But news flash, kiddo. Iâm already on the team.â
"I wasnât --â He folded his arms and huffed a bit. Real mature, kid. âTch, whatever. But look, if you know what youâre getting into, then let me in on it. I may not be as strong as I was back in my world, but I can still kick plenty of ass. And Iâm sick of sittinâ around looking for a way out of this dinky little shit-hole that everyoneâs calling a city. About time I just slam my fist into something and see what happens.â Especially if there was some sweet-ass bonus waiting at the end.
He was real charming, this one. And at least a foot or so shorter than Deadpool. âThe nameâs Urameshi Yusuke. Street fighter extraordinaire. Like... a level 40, at least.â
And thus he slaps up a sign that says:
âLOOKING FOR GROUP!
Currently in Need Of:
Healer
Tank
Swordsman -or- Mage
Text Deadpool if interested!â
He had to use his old christmas elf uniform and he wasnât using a bow but⊠hey. He made a pretty good Ranger if he did say so himself.
"... the hell? Healer, tank? Mage? Yo, Pops -- this isnât a freaking video-game. I mean, yeah, it totally looked like Zomaâs Castle just popped out of the ground like a daisy... -- but there are real lives on the line here. And do you really think all these types are just gonna come waltzing in like, âlevel 30 swordsman for hire!â after they saw all that?â
âLook, youâre gonna need someone strong. Clever. And I might just know a guy.â
âAnd what the hellâs so funny about that, punk? You got somethinâ to say?!â
"How is being named after an ona-hole not hilarious? Shit. Give me a minute. I donât wanna bust my gut again.â
âOkay. Okay, seriously -- hear me out. This is literally the best thing Iâve heard all day. Check it. Dudeâs name is TENGA and he doesnât even know what the hell a Tenga Egg is. Itâs freakinâ unreal.â
ROBOTS? PILOTED by humans? While Arcee want to scoff, the memory of the leader of M.E.C.H doing the same thing arises within her mind⊠Leaving an overall bitter taste in her mouth.
â Unfortunately for you, Iâm not piloted by anyone; Iâm completely sentient, kid. â she starts, metallic brows furrowing for a moment. â Anyway⊠Like it or not, I do care. Whether or not you believe me is up to you, but it is the truth. â
Hold the phone. This massive ( -- ly impressive, not that heâd care to admit ) hunk of junk wasnât being piloted by some self-righteous punk? Go figure. â... huh. So youâre not man-made, then? Well, shit. Tell me you can still shoot lasers or something, at least.â
Despite the relatively informative discovery, Yusuke kept his arms folded and his stance defiant. Did the boy know how to do anything other than be standoffish? It was just that -- heâd didnât like that feeling. Like someone couldâve been looking down on him. It made him sick to his stomach and nearly fixed on a permanent, sullen gaze. âIâm not exactly planninâ on staying around here for that long, but Iâll keep it in mind. If itâs the truth.â
