Hello, my name is Luna! I love writing and talking about my passions, very introverted so I'm not normally the one to start the conversation.

Thank you so much for clicking on my profile, here on my Tumblr Account I write lots of different stuff.
Pfp is by '_.mararu._' on Instagram <3
As of 10/06/26, I've officially returned from my unenjoyable hiatus, and I'm ready to continue writing!! As of now, I'm focusing on rewriting the Insatiable Madness Series and getting it finished in entirety before focusing on my other projects. Thank you all so much for the support, it really means a lot to me. <3
Btw when I'm free this whole "introductory pinned post shenanigans thingy" is being revamped just like my Quotev one. It looks so ass but I don't have the time or knowledge to fix it D:
If you request or ask a question, please could you mention if it's related/unrelated to a series? Thank you!
(Important Note: All Y/N's I write will be gender-neutral. Unless a requester asks for otherwise or a certain topic I'm writing about makes more sense with a specific gender.)

When the world of Teyvat discovers the existence of 'The Decider', it's a race between nations to directly communicate and retrieve Their likeness to join Them side-by-side. With Snezhnaya in the lead, in gratitude to the Young Lord Tartaglia, The Tsaritsa wishes to covet their powers for unbeknownst reasons. When Il Dottore, commanded by Her Majesty leads an expedition into the realm where They remain, he begins to struggle to grasp the very idea of normality in the new unprecedented world.
And from the expressions of his fellow comrades, he doesn't seem to be the only one.

When a new Sinner gets thrown down to Hell, they're never in denial about their sin. Not you though. You're very confused about what you've supposedly done to deserve this, and how the man upstairs hated you so much to the point where he threw you into a different world's afterlife altogether! You thought it would be easy, considering you've watched Hazbin Hotel before. However, the more you come to terms with your situation, the more hopeless you feel as time goes on.

You guys aren't ready for Childe in the new and improved View 4... I'm struggling so much rn, this will DEFINITELY need a long editing session when I've finished writing it. It's definitely going over the average 6-7k words, considering I'm currently on that number :,)
About half-way through rn though. It's taken me this long because I've been busy preparing for University, so yah ^^
So excited to finally begin showing some of the Harbingers as genuine threats. In the OG series they never felt threatening enough... ANYWAY yeah I don't think I'll have that problem in this one. It almost makes me feel bad for Childe -- "almost" is very key here.
^ people might know what I'm getting at, as I kind of hinted towards it in the original series. 👀
I'm also finally showing off one of Y/N's skills that I didn't include in the og series despite me literally saying it was canon (whoops). I'm very guilty of weakening characters just to make story points happen, trying to break out of this habit though!
idk if anyone's already asked this before but
harbingers vs modern day transportation (airplanes, buses, bullet trains, and so on)
I remember someone asking this, yes, though I can't remember whether I answered it or not as it either spoiled something or was already in the main plot.
Sadly whatever my answer would have been is now inaccurate though. Thanks to the devs deciding Genshin should be another ZZZ with its modern technology, the Harbingers would be used to modern day transportation since trains are very common in Snezhnaya.
I mean, okay, bullet trains are sort of different due to their speed, but it wouldn't blow them away. Sure, they might be a little shocked for their own reasons, but they wouldn't demand you explain how they're better than Snezhnayan trains or anything. The most they would do is probably get Sandrone on the case to study it.
Airplanes?? I guess they'd find those more remarkable in comparison. After all, the closest the average person has gotten to flying in Teyvat is gliders, which had to be blessed by a God for them to work! (ily Venti)
But the Harbingers aren't your average person. Most of them have been alive for over a hundred years, they've seen many inventions get developed and popularised. Some Harbingers can already fly too, Columbina and Arlecchino for example, so humans travelling by air while unexpected wouldn't shock them completely.
Like, yes, of course the people here can fly. They don't have the Heavenly Principles limiting what they can do to minimalise the risk of rebellion. They would probably view airplanes as an answer to the question of: what if the Gods didn't push back against human progression?
Other than that? They wouldn't be too shocked. I'm sure a few of the more inquisitive Harbingers would love to pick it apart though.
A discussion regarding buses will take place in the rewritten plot, so I won't say much about it.
All I'll say is it's nothing revolutional. Considering the fact that the 'Aquabus' is a common Fontaine transportation method, it won't be a reaction worth remembering really.
Ronova: I'm not here for her, but for the one who sees this world's future and will help me with my plans.
Traveler: You won't get them. Don't be afraid, Y/N—nothing will happen to yo... Wait, Y/N?
Meanwhile, Y/N...
LOOOOL THAT WAS MY EXACT THOUGHT TOO 😭
When Y/N gets to Teyvat the Shades are coming after dat ahh... Anyway, now that there's more info coming out regarding the Shades, I can go into more detail about them in the plot.
I've finally gotten my old Xbox 360 up and running !! 🥹
It's been on my to do list for ages now, so when I managed to get it going and saw the familiar intro screen? Guys, the nostalgia, I forgot how much that box meant to me.
First thing I'm doing? Going on all my old minecraft worlds, of course! Some of these haven't been opened since 2015 D:
Would Earth's strict laws of physics, chemistry, and biology act like a massive dampening field on the Harbingers powers, it's like reality or the universe is rejecting them and the trying to neutralize or send them back home
Mmmmnnn not exactly.
Earth's laws and physics do affect their elemental power, but the Earth doesn't outright reject it. Neither does the universe, you'll see why later down the line.
I would also like to comment that the Earth isn't actively rejecting them. Maybe wearing them down more than if they were in Teyvat, but it isn't rejecting their existence.
The unidentified machines continued to speed down the road as the Harbingers watched in trepidation at their unexpectedness. Occasionally, Arlecchino stepped her foot out as one passed, quickly flinching back when spying another turning the corner. This action repeated a few times before she sighed in frustration, giving up.
“Well then?” Dottore chuckled to himself evilly, enjoying the sight of her apprehension. “What are you waiting for, go right ahead.”
She glared darkly at the grinning Doctor from the corner of her gaze, eyes in narrow slits. “Quiet.” She hissed. “I don’t see you offering to step your foot out.”
Dottore laughed more at that, crossing his arms and leaning back to enjoy the scene in front of him. “I quite like where I’m currently standing,” he pointed out while gesturing to the road, “a riveting display. Humour me, won’t you?”
Arlecchino didn’t argue back, not wishing to further humiliate herself by engaging in his entertainment. She sighed deeply, before getting ready to run across the road. Counting the vehicles that passed, she calculated a possible opening between two of them she thought she could get through. Her knees bent, she was prepared to begin moving in flow of momentum to give herself more time.
With the placement of her left foot forwards first, just as she was about to push forwards, a loud ringing sound met her ears. Looking up in alarm with her hands ready to materialise her weapon, she frantically checked the area.
“Oh hey,” Columbina pointed to the box with a glowing green man drawing on it, “that light changed colour.”
Sandrone’s eyes narrowed at the box. “But how? Who changed it?” Her eyes burnt a hole into Dottore’s head in suspicion.
“Don’t look at me.” Dottore shrugged, his mask covering his sarcastic eyeroll.
The vehicles on the road visibly slowed down, the Harbingers’ jaws dropping at the sight. The vehicles didn’t bother to stop earlier, so why did they obey the green man? Did he have great power to be feared? Maybe it’s so great that even they can’t detect it… after all, through elemental sight they can’t see anything unusual.
No matter. They’ll worry about being overpowered later, they can’t afford to waste this opportunity!
After seeing a person in front of them cross the road without any worries, all the Harbingers sprinted as fast as they could, successfully reaching the other side. They looked back at where they once stood on the opposite side of the road, marvelling at the lights’ colour changing back to its original angry red.
“It changed again!” Childe pointed in shock, the dangerous vehicles speeding dangerously close to his hand causing him to flinch it back. “A coincidence?”
Pierro shook his head, the first of the group to turn away from the road full of busy cars. “Distractions are leading us nowhere. If you all wish to learn about this world, you can return in your own time. As of now, we have a Decider to catch.”
Using the compass, Dottore led the group through the city, following the line he constantly created with the compass every second it turned off. The other Harbingers looked around at the glowing windows on the high buildings in the meantime, some of the highest they’d ever seen. They noted the city which seemed prosperous, the landscape around them almost disgustingly dystopian.
As they crossed a few streets, the compass began pointing them down a narrower alleyway. From the entrance to the section, a smell of oil, sweat and cooked meat hit them. Feeling both enticed by the smell and thickening light from the compass, the Harbingers immediately entered the space.
…Only for their noses to immediately scrunch in disgust at the amount of rubbish overflowing small public bins and trailing on the floor.
Scaramouche grimaced at the sight, his mouth widening in horror the more he looked around. “Disgusting,” he muttered under his breath, “and we thought this world to be a miracle compared to Teyvat.”
Pantalone covered his nose with a handkerchief, one eye more scrunched compared to the other closed one in an equal amount of disgust. “I noticed a cloggy and industrial smell earlier, but down this street the smell is simply unbearable. Just what is making that horrific scent?”
He looked towards Sandrone, eyes almost pleading. “Identify it, wouldn’t you? You’re our mechanic and engineer after all, this is your specialty.”
“I’m much more than that.” She scoffed in reply, her arms crossed. “I honestly couldn’t tell you… not that I’d want to give you an honest reply anyway.”
Everyone around her gave her an annoyed look, the girl quickly relenting by putting two arms up in surrender. “Ughhh, fine!” She growled.
“While I can’t give a concrete reason, my guess would be it’s these vehicles. I noticed as we were walking that there are different models of these things. If we can assume these vehicles are anything similar to the technology of Teyvat, older models must have unwanted side effects.”
Childe nodded at that. “That makes sense. The smell is similar to the train that connects to my hometown. The smoke that the train would make has a similar feeling to the air here. Yet, it’s also different… I can’t quite put my finger on it.”
“Pyro emissions…” Dottore nodded to himself in further understanding. “Pyro is one of the rawest elements in Teyvat. It must exist here too, hence the similarity, but not the same exactness.”
“Well beyond that, it appears even in this world pigeons are a nuisance.” Signora scoffed at the crammed cars and benches drenched in bird poo, unconsciously grabbing her dress and moving it away from the mess. “And what is that!?” She cringed, pointing at the liquified mess in a suspicious colour on the floor.
“Oh, Tsaritsa,” she stepped as far back as she could away from it, “are we sure The Decider is down here? They’re an esteemed figure, surely They aren’t willingly surrounding Themself in this… filth!”
Childe rolled his eyes, stance confident and eyes unwavering. “That’s a lot coming from you.”
“Anyway…” Her eyes narrowed at the boy, him whistling innocently in reply, “I do hope this mission wraps up quickly. Her Majesty was most pleased with my efforts in gathering the Gnoses, I would hate for this to drag out.”
Sandrone turned to her with raised brows. “That’s true,” she commented with a nod, “before The Tsaritsa summoned us, you were preparing for your voyage to Inazuma.”
“Indeed.” Signora sighed sadly. “Imagine my surprise when I, and the Balladeer, were called to abandon preparations so suddenly. It was so late notice that the messengers had to physically drag me off of my boat.”
“Physically?” Arlecchino questioned.
Signora chuckled to herself. “Maybe not ‘physically’, per say. If they had done that, I’d have ripped off more than their scalp. Balladeer, didn’t you say you’d do much worse?”
The puppet blinked. “No.” He shrugged, feigning innocence. “I was given explicit orders to not cause mayhem as it could hinder your Gnoses collection.”
“Liar.” She clicked her tongue in amusement. “You practically grilled the poor messenger to death with electro. He’ll have scars for life.”
Pierro groaned in exasperation, his huff catching the attention of the Harbingers. “How many times must I tell you all to treat your subordinates with respect?” He shook his head. “Harbinger or not, your ranks give you the responsibility of their livelihoods.”
“Yes, I’d like to add to that,” Pulcinella raised his hand. “The amount of letters I have to send regarding soldiers or domestic ranks ‘disappearing’ is increasing by a concerning amount. I would hate to have to write any more avoidable ones.”
“Dottore, I think that last statement was pointed towards you.” Columbina pointed out without a beat to breathe, the Doctor in reply batting the back of her head playfully.
“Never. Just look at Scaramouche.”
“I don’t know…” Sandrone trailed off playfully, fiddling with a stand of her hair mischievously while side-eyeing his reaction. “Prior projects we’ve had together tell a different story.” She laughed evilly, mainly to hide the grit in her tone. “Don’t you think?”
Pantalone coughed into his gloved hand, a serene smile on his face. “Please, ladies, sharpening a dull sword is no way to keep peace.”
Pierro felt a sudden spike of abyssal energy, turning to its source in alarm to find Childe standing robotically straight. With slight worry, he waved his arm in front of the harbinger’s rippling eyes, the abyss within them mixing into his irises. Blinking rapidly, he looked more focused at his leader a second time, tilting his head in confusion.
The man simply sighed at the problem, predicting an incoming problem that was soon going to break free. More of a reason to leave this world the second they can, to help revert things back to the way it was.
Looking around her for support, Sandrone’s playful smirk dropped in an instant, her eyes dim as she grumbled at the change in events. Seeing nobody was going to stick up for her, she swiped the compass from Dottore’s hands and strided faster to avoid the group.
Capitano eyed Sandrone walking up to his side, clearly uninterested in continuing a conversation of any kind. With a huff, he led the group down the dingy alleyway in place of Dottore, regularly checking the compass the girl held in both of her hands outstretched in front of her.
You and your family walked up to a brightly lit building, the neon lights that grabbed your attention scalding your eyes. Forcing yourself to look away with watery eyes, you walked up to the menu screwed in beside the door, the laminated paper behind a fragile piece of glass. Your eyes began tracing every option, a diverse amount of options available.
Your aunt followed directly behind you, chin resting on the top of your head as she looked over the menu also. After reading a few lines, she beckoned your parents over with an excited smile, wordlessly exaggerating a pointed finger at one of the options.
“Look, peabrain,” she gazed at your mother for a moment before turning back to the menu once again. “They have your favourite!”
The woman sighed at her sister’s childishness, shaking her head and following her finger with tired eyes. “I can see that.” She caressed her head to soothe her headache, immediately walking to the door and opening it. “Come on then,” she said, “I’m hungry.”
You turned to your mother with a minor sarcastic glint in your eyes. “No more screeching?” Your eyebrow was raised.
Your mother ignored you, rolling her eyes with her arms crossed, continuing to hold the door open for the rest of the group. You pouted at that, choosing to walk through the door first to get her out of your sight. Your aunt was soon to follow, tipping her head in appreciation before walking faster to meet up with you.
With a chuckle, she eyed you carefully before muttering under her breath. “You’re just like your mother.”
You looked at her incredulously, a hand on your hip as you joined the queue to the front desk.
“I’m sorry?” You laughed awkwardly. “I didn’t hear what you said.”
“Don’t worry about it.” She waved a hand dismissively, turning to the screen above the front desk which had a larger version of the menu you previously looked at outside. “What do you want? I’m paying this week so now’s your chance to get whatever you want without someone limiting your options.”
Hmm… What do you want? You’re not feeling very picky today, and you don’t fancy anything on the larger side either. As bad as it is to admit it, you had lots of snacks from your snack drawer before coming here. So sadly, you’re not as hungry as you could have originally been. Whoops.
“I’m not bothered, can you pick for me?” You shrugged. “Just make sure it’s not anything too filling, I’m not very hungry.”
Her eyes widened in surprise at your words, jaw dropped as she’d never heard you say these words before. “I’m sorry,” she recovered a bit, “you’re not hungry?”
“Nah, not really.”
She eyed your mum and dad walking into the building hand in hand, your mum looking a lot calmer compared to before. Getting closer to your ear, she put a hand covering her mouth from their view.
“You’re not skipping meals are you?” She whispered in worry. “The last time you told me you weren’t hungry it was because you were saving money for your breakfast the following day.”
You cringed, teeth gritted making your jaw ache. “I’m not. We’ve not been in a situation like that for a while, I’m really just not that hungry, I promise.”
“Are you sure?” She looked down at you seriously. “Please tell me the truth. Your mother and father never transparently tell me about your struggles, you’re the only one I can count on to tell me whether you’re all doing okay.”
You moved away from her for a moment, looking around to find your parents. When seeing them sat at a booth table to claim it for the group, thankfully at a notable distance so they couldn’t hear you, you moved closer to your aunt.
“I’m being honest. You know how mum gets, she’s too prideful to ask for help. Dad on the other hand is fine asking for it, but doesn’t, because he knows it would upset her. He’s a simp.” You explained with a patient smile. “But anyway, we’re doing okay financially for a change. Not a lot beyond what’s keeping us afloat, but there’s more to work with now which is good.”
“I see.” Her eyes narrowed slightly, her serious frown turning into a straight line. “Has your mother told you yet? About her job?”
You gave a confused expression at that. What’s so special about your mum’s job to be mentioned here? It has decent pay, and her position seems to be stable enough.
“I don’t understand what you mean.” Your eyebrow raised in intrigue, voicing your thoughts out loud. “What’s wrong with her job? She just got it, we were all so happy for her.”
Your aunt clicked her tongue in frustration, laughing under her breath in disbelief. “Y/N,” she whispered lower than before, “she got fired.”
“What!?” You flinched back, not controlling your loud outburst. Looking around frantically and giving an awkward wave to the people in line and sitting around staring at you. “When was this!?” You whispered harshly.
“She was given the notice almost two weeks ago…” Your aunt trailed off with sad eyes. “Her boss said it was because of negligent behaviour during overtime; some apparently claimed she’d skip over work to get home earlier, and sloppily complete paperwork without looking over details. But everyone knew that wasn’t true.”
You shook your head in disbelief, eyebrows scrunched and mouth half-open. “And how do you know this?”
She grabbed her phone out of her jeans back pocket, sliding her finger across the keypad to unlock it. When the screen changed to her homescreen, she went into her messages and scrolled down until she reached a name and profile picture. She clicked on it accompanied with a pitiful look.
“Matthew, a friend of mine who works in the same building, told me.” She handed you her phone, giving you full access to the messages between the two.
The messages started out normal, gossip flying between the two about the company your mother was working– no, worked at. A few scandals here and there, some pregnancy scares, heating issues… all the regular things you usually find. But then it began to evolve solely about your mother. It started with a message of concern, Matthew expressing doubts about a rumour spreading in the building.
But then it escalated. More and more rumours seemed to spread about your mother, some ranging from faking information on her CV to even family life. Some even included crimes that would damage the reputation of the company if they were genuinely true.
“Why would she…” You mumbled to yourself, continuing to scroll downwards to read more. “Why didn’t she tell us?” You looked up at your aunt, handing back her phone when you felt too sick to continue. “Please tell me mum told you before Matthew did?”
Your aunt shook her head, a deep exhale leaving her lips. “No. Matthew was the first I heard about it.” She took a step forward when someone in front of the line left it. “I have my own theories on why she got fired, why these rumours started circulating, and why she of all new employees who joined the company that month got targeted.”
You nodded faintly, still confused but more sombre than ever.
“And?” You asked, implying you wanted to hear her theory without actually asking for it. “Why?”
Your aunt shook her head again, putting her phone back in her pocket and taking out her wallet instead. “It’s a matter that only adults should worry about. You’re the only member in our family of the new generation, Y/N. You shouldn’t have to become aware of all these unfortunate quirks our family holds, we want you to live your life unattached to things or people you don’t wish to involve yourself with.”
An angry fire sparked through your blood at those words, an emotionally charged feeling taking control of your thoughts again. “‘Only adults’?” You repeated. “Are you fucking serious?” Your aunt looked at you exasperatedly upon hearing your complaints. “Why does everyone in this family keep forgetting I’m 19 now, I’m legally an adult! There’s no better time than now to tell me all of our secrets!”
“Y/N, I can tell you later. Today isn’t the right time.”
“Yes,” You growled, rolling your eyes arrogantly. “That’s what you always say. Just like mum and dad, you hide things from me by claiming you’ll tell me things. Which, by the way, are never talked about again!”
“Please.” Your aunt begged you. “The day will come, I promise. Probably not from your mother, but from me, which is strange considering it’s not really my information to tell. I just don’t want to involve you in anything you can’t get yourself out of. That would kill me.”
She looked around hesitantly. “Plus, just think of where we are right now.” She watched you follow her movements, also looking around to see people pretending to mind their own business.
‘A bit dramatic, but okay.’ You grumbled to yourself before begrudgingly nodding. “Fine.” You agreed angrily. “But only because tonight has already been tough on me. I swear though, we will talk about this tomorrow over the phone, whether you like it or not.”
Your aunt let out a low whistle at that, an impressed yet amused smirk on her face. She didn’t say anything more, turning back to face the general direction of the line with you doing the same next to her. After a few passing minutes, it was finally the two of you’s turn to order. You fiddled with the tote bag slung on your shoulders as you waited, occasionally shifting the weight on your feet in boredom.
As more and more people left the line, and you got closer to the front desk, eventually it was your turn to order food. Your aunt ordered for the group, you nodding along to what she was saying awkwardly. The two of you then moved to sit down with your mum and dad, the two ogling at each other with their hands connected under the table.
Upon noticing your arrival, they looked up and moved away from each other with slightly flushed cheeks.
“Hello dear.”
“Yeah.” You nodded, sitting far away from them on the cushioned seat. “Hello.” You took your phone from your pocket, immediately turning it on and pressing on the Genshin app. Before you could press the screen to enter the game, the phone was swiped out of your hands.
Looking up in horror, your aunt waved it next to her head tauntingly, her other hand wagging her index finger. “No, no, Y/N.” She tutted. “You’re going to chat with us until the food arrives. Don’t be so obsessed with the game, it’s bad for your eyes.”
“But…!”
Your mother grabbed your phone out of your aunt's hands, placing it back in front of you. “Let them do what they want. I just better not catch you using headphones if you’re going to play at the table, yes?”
You nodded enthusiastically, crossing your fingers in your head. “Of course.”
Sandrone stopped dead in her tracks, Scaramouche crashing into her back ungracefully with his hat narrowly missing her head.
Turning around, Capitano looked at her blankly, his gaze following hers which was stuck on the compass she cradled with her slender fingers like glass. Tilting his head, he stepped closer to her to get a better look at the compass.
“The light isn’t cooperating.” She reasoned, hesitating before handing him the compass when his gentle hand gestured for it.
Capitano pressed the button with his thumb, the light spilling out from the compass messily and unorderly. The chaotic spirals lit up the dark alleyway, the ends of it going in vastly different directions, causing an unclear next path.
“Dottore!” Sandrone looked over at the man with a hostile grimace. “Fix your malfunctioning machine!”
“Stop screaming, your aggression isn’t needed.” He answered her childishness together with an eyeroll, picking the compass out of The Captain’s hands and fishing a screwdriver from his pocket. “Oh, do forgive me, if an invention I created last minute for a never before experienced world doesn’t run as smoothly as you hoped.”
Childe stared at the light closely, a familiar feeling washing over him, as his dim eyes swirled a murky pattern. Without a single speck of hesitation, he walked towards one of the thin strands of light that continued to spill from the compass Dottore had now opened up, rummaging around and tightening any screws he could find.
With a questioning glance, Dottore watched on with intrigue, noticing out of the corner of his eye how the Harbinger slowly raised his right hand. As his fingers made contact with the thread of light, it turned an abyssal blue, the glimmers in the pale yellow light turning into small stars.
“They’re this one. We should follow this strand if we hope to find them.” He confidently spoke, snapping out of his trance after and looking around to see everyone’s jaws dropped. “...what?”
“You just…”
Everyone around him stared at him strangely, not awe in their eyes, but something else the ginger boy couldn’t identify. Before he could speak once more, a heavy hand fell onto his head. Looking up after his head was pushed down, he saw Pierro have a proud glint in his eye, the elusiveness causing him to almost miss it.
With a cough, Pierro quickly moved on from the awkwardness. “Onwards. We have our lead.” He called out before following the blue line that Childe had successfully created from the compass, others following behind him closely.
Walking through the alleyway with their noses scrunched, the Harbingers carefully avoided mysterious puddles and the eyes of the occasional person that walked past. Skulking carefully behind parked vehicles to avoid the eyes of citizens, they followed the line of light as people outside of bars and cafes sat around the road drinking and chatting.
Following the trail, they reached the end of the alley which opened into an arguably cleaner street. Breathing sighs of relief, the group walked on hesitantly due to the lack of cover unlike before. Some marvelled at the multicoloured lights around them, fairy lights in patterns and glowing signs captivating their attention.
Eventually, they reached a brick wall. Pressing the button on the compass tracker, Dottore gave a pleasant hum at the progress achieved so far.
“They’re beyond this wall. They’re right there.”
Scaramouche snorted. “What are we waiting for?” He sarcastically asked with an eyeroll. “Let’s knock it down, grab Them, and go home already.”
“No,” Columbina shook her head, the palm of her hand gently placed on the brick wall in a solemn manner. “The noise that would make will cause a commotion. A commotion we can’t afford.”
“Then what should we do?” Pulcinella mused to himself. “We could examine the building for an entrance, or perhaps scale it for a possible air duct or open window?”
Arlecchino raised her arm, “I vote for an open window. We can get in, retrieve The Decider swiftly, and exit just as quickly. Stealth is my strength, I can go in alone if need be.” She explained, looking around. “Who’s with me?”
Columbina, Sandrone, and Pantalone raised their hands also.
“Yes,” Pantalone nodded. “Stealth appears to be the appropriate course of action here. Walking through a front entrance, if one exists, could pose unforeseen trouble.”
Signora scoffed with crossed arms, shaking her head dismissively. “I disagree with that idea. We don’t know the layout of this building in the slightest, you could get into more unforeseen trouble by making this more complicated than it has to be.”
“I agree.” Childe begrudgingly shrugged with dark eyes towards the woman. “The people here haven’t posed us much of a physical problem. If they do go against us now, we have the strength and numbers to overpower them.”
Sandrone chuckled at that, eyeing him distastefully in return. “You dare sound so confident, Tartaglia?” She smirked. “Just because our dear Capitano is here doesn’t mean we can afford to behave rashly. Use your brain instead of your pride, scaling the building is the better choice.”
Dottore raised an eyebrow at that, a grin that showed he wasn’t taking her seriously on his lips, purposefully aggravating her more. “Then, since you’re so confident yourself, how do you plan to combat this issue with the layout?”
She thought to herself for a moment, pausing, before continuing with wide eyes. “I’m sure I can find cameras of some kind to hack into. Just because Pulonia isn’t here with me doesn’t mean I can’t do my job.”
“Too long.” Pierro shook his head. “If we had more time, I would agree with attempting that. However, with your earlier observation with our portal having a weak atmospheric point, we’re losing time.”
Columbina frowned, displeased as her head tilted sideways. “So, that’s it then?” She huffed. “I must say I’m quite disappointed. You’re saying we should rely on the stronger Harbingers to defend the weaker ones during this endeavour?”
The leader nodded with closed eyes, opening them and looking down at her with a raised head. “This is the result of the vote, it is what you shall do.”
She sighed wistfully, standing down instantly from his stare and lowering her head in submission, eyes simmering in mischief under her delicate eyelashes and veil. Nodding after realising eyes were still on her form.
“Fine.”
Pierro took a deep breath, moving his attention away from the goddess and instead towards the whole group. “We’ll split up as we walk arou–”
“Fuck no!” Scaramouche shrieked, interrupting the man. “We walk together, it’s the safest option. There could be something watching us, waiting for us to let our guards down.”
“I feel nothing.” Columbina’s eye twitched.
“You feel nothing anyway, you two-faced pig.”
“Ah.” She feigned offense, a gasp leaving her lips with a hand over her mouth. “How rude…”
Pierro groaned into his hands, nodding exasperatedly at the continued arguing despite asking the group to repent at all costs. Walking around the brick building, and climbing over a few metal fences that got in their way, they eventually walked around to the opposite side of the building.
In front of them was a brightly lit building, its wide double front doors open for them to walk through. The coloured sign burned into their irises, some of the Harbingers having to look away in fear of damaging their vision beyond repair.
Rubbing his eyes, Childe whined about the pain in a confused voice. “What is this place? A cafe? It smells like food is inside.”
“But there’s no outside seating.” Capitano eyed the people through the windows sitting on their chairs inside, plates in front of them with food of many kinds ready to be eaten. “It must be a restaurant.”
“At least The Decider has some class.” Pantalone breathed a joking sigh of relief, chuckling to himself. “We’re similar in that respect I suppose.”
Scaramouche stared incredulously at the building, turning to Dottore and Childe in anger. “Is this a joke?”
Pantalone made a confused noise. “I was joking, yes.”
“Not you, not everything is about you.” He grumbled. “Pompous prick.”
“Scaramouche,” Dottore gave him a warning glare. “Your temper is wearing thin, don’t embarrass yourself,” he sighed to himself. “This is no joke. If the compass says They’re in there, They’re in there. Besides, I’ve been moved to trust Tartaglia’s unprecedented judgement.”
Arlecchino tutted with her gaze directed towards the building, a disapproving glint in her eyes. “So our esteemed and illustrious figure is lounging around in a restaurant instead of defending Their homeland? I can’t say I’m feeling proud of being chosen by Them as of this moment.”
“They must not know we’re here.” Capitano commented. “If They did, They would have made an effort to fight us or hide.”
Pulcinella shrugged. “We may never know. Dottore, what’s our next move?”
Dottore turned to look behind him with a guilty expression, turning away from the framed paper outside of the building in an alphabet he didn’t recognise. His separation from the group becoming more obvious now that attention had been brought onto himself. “Let’s just go in and find them. The compass should be able to tell us which person is Them.”
The Doctor sweated anxiously, his grin slowly stretching the more the Harbingers stared at him. Chanting in his head, he begged them not to ask the simple question he guessed was in the air. Please take the hint, please take the hint, please take the hint–
“You didn’t find out what They looked like before making the portal, did you?”
Shit.
“Aha, about that–”
“He didn't.” Sandrone sighed, the palm of her hand melting into her forehead. “Of course. The one thing I asked him to do for the sake of this mission, he didn’t do.”
Dottore turned to walk through the front door, ignoring her complaint. “We’ll still find Them. Together with my compass and Childe’s surprisingly accurate instinct about Them, this process should be done quickly.”
Walking inside the building together, The Harbingers looked around at the people eating and chatting idly about whatever they couldn’t care less about. Walking through to the front desk at the back of the building, Dottore coughed before approaching the boy with a uniform on with a confident smirk.
“Oh, hey! Cool costume bro.” The boy behind the desk flicked two finger guns in a relaxed voice. “Welcome, what can I get for you all?”
Dottore’s smile faltered slightly in confusion, but didn’t drop completely. It perked back up faster than it fell. “We need information.”
“Cool…” The boy trailed off, not taking them seriously. “Like a cool spy mission? You sure like to keep in character.”
“Something like that.” Arlecchino said. “Where is ‘The Decider’?”
It was the boy’s turn to give a confused expression, hiding it less well. “What are you talking about…? Is this a prank? I don’t get paid enough to deal with situations like this if yes.”
Sandrone arrogantly scoffed. “That’s what the other person said at the park. People in this world are like broken records.” She paused before continuing. “No, we’re not joking. Where are They?”
“Calm yourself, dear colleague.” Dottore flashed her his grin. “Perhaps They go by a different title or name here. After all, ‘The Decider’ is a Teyvat given name. Give the poor boy the benefit of the doubt, he’s shaking in his boots.”
Some Harbingers nodded slowly at that revelation. Yes, that makes sense. Maybe the boy isn’t playing coy and really is confused.
The young boy gulped, eyeing the strange individuals crowding around the counter and waiting for his next words. “I really don’t know what you’re all talking about people.”
“Do you know where the person who controls people is? They’re here in this building somewhere and we need to find Them.” Pulcinella explained. “We call Them ‘The Decider’. They help the people They control grow stronger and accomplish their dreams.”
“Okay, I didn’t know what you were talking about before,” he paused, watching their expressions light up.
“Yes?”
He shook his head. “But now I really don’t know what you’re talking about. The only person I can think of with that description is God… or drugs actually. Which sounds like neither of the things you’re looking for.”
“No. Maybe we didn’t explain it clearly enough…”
Meanwhile, you looked up from your meal in alarm at familiar voices, noticing the cosplayers you and your family were spying on earlier causing a commotion at the front desk. Shrinking behind your aunt, you quickly grabbed your phone and abandoned any thought of continuing your meal.
Giving you a questioning glance, your aunt looked behind her to see your cowering form. Following your line of sight, she saw the group and chuckled to herself at your silly antics. “Oh, Y/N. It’s okay, they won’t do anything, don't be so scared. The most they’re doing is giving that poor student a rough time, comes with the job I suppose.”
“I’m not scared.” You protested with badly hidden worry. “I’m just admiring them from a distance! Their costumes are so accurate, it’s hard not to stare. I don’t want them to catch me looking though, it could make them think I want to have a conversation with them or something.”
Your mother looked at you strangely. “Well, don’t you?”
“Yeah, but I don’t want them to figure that shit out.”
“Language.”
“Whatever.” You rolled your eyes, quietly grabbing your phone from the table and stuffing it in your hoodie pocket. “I’m going to the toilet, that food’s gone straight through me.”
“Okay? But don’t take your phone–”
You didn’t wait for them to finish, grabbing your tote bag in the process and quickly shuffling your feet towards the public toilets in desperation to escape.
“–with you.” Your father sighed, watching you on the verge of sprinting away. He turned to your mother and aunt, a tired look in his eyes. “They’re going to be in there for a while.”
Childe groaned loudly, pausing the argument between the harbingers and the boy at the desk. Unable to control himself, his hands shot out to the boy behind the counter and squeezed his neck in his hold. Squeezing hard, he brought the boy closer to his face, the boy's hips slamming into the hard edge of the desk making him grunt painfully.
“Listen here, you motherfucker,” Childe spat threateningly. “If you don’t tell us what you know, I’ll deem you as useless. And I don’t think you’d like to know what I do to things I find useless.”
“...Childe!” Signora screeched at him in alarm, trying to grab him away from the boy with her hand. The second her hand made contact with his skin, she flinched back in pain, a blue light burning her.
Pierro eyed the situation in alarm, immediately turning to the others. “Close the doors and make sure nobody escapes. If someone tries, immobilise them. Do not immediately dispose, not yet. It looks like we’ll have to manually check each person one by one.” He explained.
Sandrone and Signora immediately ran towards the front door, closing it and freezing it with ice to ensure nobody could sneak through. At the sight, many gasped at the suddenness of the element, standing up in alarm. Not knowing whether to scream or applaud, the people stared, not realising the predicament that was about to happen.
Turning back around Pierro opened his mouth ready to give his next command. Before he could get the words out, he heard a scream and the sound of liquid spraying. There, without any verbal announcement, Childe had created a knife made out of hydro, slitting the boy’s neck and covering himself with his blood.
Childe looked at Pierro with crazed eyes, the abyss within them rippling maniacally. With a crazed grin, he looked around as the people who were watching the situation started screaming and frantically looking around searching for an exit.
“Tartaglia!” Pierro shouted at him in unfiltered anger, glowering at the boy in hatred. “What is wrong with you!?”
“Jester,” he froze like a statue, but not in alarm, “it wasn’t Them.”
“And how do you know this?” Dottore looked uninterested, glad to see the unhelpful boy crumpled on the floor while gagging on his own blood.
“I just do.” His smile stretched further. “Since it wasn’t Them, I can continue to kill, right? I’ve been itching for blood since we first got here.”
Everyone stared at him for a second before looking away, clearly disturbed but too shocked to protest. They wished they could say they were surprised, but they weren’t. Childe was always expected to make the first kill.
‘What a psychopath.’ They all thought to themselves. Although, now thinking about it, why did the suddenness of his violence not alarm them as much as it normally does?
Yippee we're finally back to the bit where Y/N and the Harbingers interact with each other!!
Next View is going to be craaazy... Expect a lot of blood, sweat, and tears guys. Unhappy times for everyone involved is coming up ahead.
Btw the amount of foreshadowing in this view is flipping crazy 👀
Quick Reminder Here! If you no longer want to be on the taglist that's completely fine; I take no offence whatsoever so please don't hesitate to tell me. ^^
Do you think that if the reader knew perfectly well that Columbina was merely wearing the mask of a nice person—and we didn't fall for her act—she would cast off the mask and reveal her true self? Or would she keep wearing it, even knowing that we knew she was only pretending?
She'd keep wearing it.
Columbina would be more comfortable keeping it on regardless of whether you knew or not. It keeps people around her on their toes, including you, as it doesn't show her current mood until you talk to her. Although, even sometimes through words it can be hard to learn her true motives and feelings.
The point of her mask isn't only to fool people, it's also to make people lower their guards. Even if someone doesn't trust her due to recognising her mask, they'll always unconsciously soften a little bit at her kind actions or gentle voice.
It'll definitely be an uncomfortable position to be in for anyone talking to her, Y/N or Harbinger. In comparison though, it delights her very much. That's why she'll continue to use it even if Y/N sees through her mask :)
A question for Insatiable Madness, I know Y/N is ABSOLUTELY cooked right now but how about some limits for the Harbingers to make things fair, since they're on Earth and it is NOTHING like Teyvat, elemental energy or anything like that doesn't exist within our realms of REALITY, meaning that their powers and things like immortality are limited and nullified, and once they run out, they become fully mortal like Y/N. It be humiliating to Scara once he realizes how it feels to be a mortal. Is Columbina by any chance both Moon Goddess and Seraphim like her Fanon Counterpart Seraphina? Will they truly understand the pain they caused Y/N because I hope they are aware that if the U.S declares them threats then they might just send the military or use nuclear weapons
Long answer ahead, some spoilers for Insatiable Madness!
All the Harbingers have their own unique limits or drawbacks after entering the real world, so I'm way ahead of you there lol...
If my memory serves me correct I've hinted towards it in a few of the old Views and perchance some of the rewritten ones currently published too 👀
'Elemental Energy' in a Teyvat sense definitely doesn't exist irl, so I'm with you there. However elements on our planet and energy as a concept certainly are a thing! You'll see where I'm going with this soon, all I'll reveal is elemental energy plays a huge part in the story of I.M.
They won't become mortal or have their own biology change, so sadly they're still immortal with their abilities. For example, Scaramouche has Irminsul Wood as a part of his mechanics. Does this mean he'll cease to exist as he's made out of something that isn't actually real? No. He'll still move, breathe, and talk as normal... As unfortunate as that is.
The Harbingers will definitely be feeling less invincible because of their drawbacks though. Some of them are positive, helping them. The majority however, are negative.
Columbina is a very strange case in I.M, as I'm merging both canon and fanon concepts of her character.
In terms of canon, her physical appearance and status as a moon goddess is the same as well as her motivations to return to the moon (although obviously this will soon change). Her personality is also relatively similar, with some minor changes. She still has her moon goddess powers too.
As for fanon, I've incorporated favoured parts of what makes her more menacing and terrifying. I wanted to use more of the fake damsel in distress concept as a way to catch Y/N out -- this will become very apparent in the rewrite! Her powers are also somehow in this area, I promise I'll balance her out so she doesn't seem too overpowered. Remember how I talked about drawbacks earlier? 👀
It'll be what makes her more unpredictable, as poor Y/N is too used to her canon-self. Never would they think that the fanon Columbina is present, especially with the picture perfect mask Columbina likes to wear to attract prey.
Some of them will understand more than others empathy-wise. In truth, all of them understand what they're doing is wrong. But you have to realise that all of them are Fatui Harbingers, whom are ordered to do the Tsaritsa's dirty work no matter how morally wrong it seems to them as people.
So while some will quietly empathise such as Capitano and Childe for entirely different reasons, others will separate what they're doing by building a psychological wall, using that they're in a different world. It's only over time that some of these sentiments may begin to wear down, for better or for worse.
LOLLL that last bit is funny and actually is in one of the rewrites! I.M isn't just in the USA though, it's wherever you the reader would like yourselves to be located. I'm sure you already know this but I thought I'd centralise this fact now while I have the opportunity.
These unknown threats are why they tread so carefully, and want to seek refuge at Y/N's house after they find their portal won't let them back through. ❤️
Thank you for asking all these questions and showing an interest in the series 🥹 xx
