This is Bear. She takes care of her human and enjoys exploring in the woods.
Hello, this is Bear's owner. I have not used Tumblr for 3 years, as I realized this website was unhealthy for my mental state. It made me sick, and I was in a troubled part of my life. I never knew that I had submitted this three years ago, and I want to say thank you. I got the email that it had been posted, and I cried. I recovered my account just to say this. I have healed and changed a lot in that time, and my best friend, Bear, passed away in July 2020. Nothing else kept me going but her.
She went from a wild and ferocious street dog to a loyal, strong willed companion that would walk at my side without straying. We had so many adventures in the woods, discovering new worlds and it was as if she understood me, when no one else would. She was a 130 pounds of spirit that couldn’t be broken. She stepped between my mother and I the many times I was being abused, and I for her.
She was 10 years old when I got out, but I couldn’t leave her behind. She got sick shortly after that. She was in a lot of pain, and even if I told her no, she still cried as she forced herself up the stairs to lay with me. Still wanted to explore and play like we used to, but I knew I couldn’t let her suffer any more. I took the submitted picture the day we got out, down in the woods at the riverside. She was truly a beast, and will never be forgotten. Link to her Embark :)
