Meanwhile, at a Navy baseā¦.
The retired fleet admiral sighed at the booming voice of his friend. āI told youā¦ā Sengoku reminded Tsuru as she sipped her tea. He turned and watched as the door was shattered off its hinges. Tsuru hummed quietly to herself before pouring a third cup for when Garp calmed down enough to join them.
āDo you see what your grandson has done?!ā Garp demanded, marching over to Sengoku and throwing down a newspaper.
āGrandson?ā Tsuru asked, though she was ignored as Sengoku stood. As far as she knew Sengoku didnāt even have children.
āExcuse me?! If anyone is at fault, itās your grandson Garp. The whole lot of your family is cursed! Thereās no way-ā
The chief advisor tuned them out, turning her attention to the newspaper Garp had dropped on the table. The top head line read āMORE THAN JUST AN ALLIANCE?ā and showed a mildly out of focused photo of Straw Hat Luffy pulling Trafalgar Law down into a kiss. Though it was blurry, there was no mistaking the two the of them. She flipped to the page that held the rest of the article and saw several other pictures of the Heart and Straw Hat crews enjoying themselves at port townās festival. And in every photo, the two captains were side by side. One that particularly caught her attention was of Law smiling as he looked down at Luffy curled up against his side possibly asleep. She checked the date and location of the article before regarding the grandfathers.
āTheyāre both pirates.ā She reminded them. That caused them both to silence for a moment. āRocinante gave his life for this young man.ā She continued. Garpās expression softened, and Sengoku looked away, fists tensing at his side. āIt is a shame he became a pirate, but look,āShe pushed the paper toward them. āThey are happy, and they take care of each other. Neither of you have a right to complain.ā
An island somewhere in the New Worldā¦
āIām going to kill him.ā Law groaned into his hands.
āNo youāre not.ā Sanji laughed as he set down a tray of drinks between Nami and Law. He settled down on the sand beside the doctor. āBesides, youād have to get in line.ā
Law snorted. āBehind all of you first, right?ā
āWell, most of usā¦ā Nami conceded. She continued snipping the pictures out of the newspapers.
āWhat are you doing?ā Law asked.
āScrap-booking.ā She stuck her tongue out at him and waved the headline photo a little.
Law glared at her and was about to retort when he saw a raven and a carrier bat flying toward them. The raven headed toward Robin who was helping Luffy, Bepo, and Chopper build a sand castle. The bat floated above Law for a second before dropping a package in his lap and flying off.
āArenāt those used by the Navy?ā Nami asked with warranted concern.
āHowād they find us?ā Sanji watched the bat fly off.
āYou donāt exactly stay hidden very well.ā Law formed a small Room around the package and looked it over. Once he deemed it safe, he opened it. Inside was a letter and bag of rice crackers. The letter only consisted of three lines. The first was written in a very elegant and neat script saying āCongratulations,ā then in uniformed and practiced lettering āPlay nice with each other,ā and finally in a scrawl Law could barely read āStop causing trouble.ā
āOh, itās from Gramps.ā Luffy grumbled.
Law looked over his shoulder at him. Luffy frowned at the letter as knelt down behind Law. He started to reach for the rice crackers, but Law swatted his hand away. āWhat about the other one?ā
Robin was reading the letter as she followed Luffy over. The raven was still perched on her shoulder. āYour father also says congratulations.ā
āGuess everyoneās seen the paper now.ā Nami sighed.
āAnd Ivankov sends a gift.ā
āOoh, let me see!ā Luffy held his hands out for it. Robin handed over a book, and he frowned. āOh.ā He set it down on the sand between Sanji and Law. āI guess you can read it to me later.ā
Law glanced down at the book. āWhat-?ā He was interrupted by Sanji scrambling away from the book as fast as he could.
āI didnāt know Iva-chan wrote books. Thatās kinda cool.ā Luffy mumbled into Lawās shoulder, oblivious to his cookās terror.
Robin laughed lightly as she handed over another package. āAnd this is from your brother and Koala.ā
Luffy took the simple brown box tied with a string and tag that simply said āHave funā and opened it enough for him and Law to look inside. āOoooh, we can use this tonight!ā He started to reach inside but Law slammed the lid back down.
āThe Revolutionary Army is full of perverts then?ā He asked Robin, a soft blush spreading across his cheeks. Robin hid her smile behind her hand with a chuckle but said nothing.
Nami coughed to quiet her own laughs. āYou seem quite content with it all Luffy.ā
āOf course!ā Luffy grinned. He nuzzled his cheek against Lawās neck and jaw. āTorao has approval. Whatās not to be happy about?ā
Sanji scooted back to their small circle, making sure to stay on the other side, away from the book. āApproval?ā He asked as he lit a cigarette. āDo you even care about that?ā
āNo, not really.ā Luffy agreed.
āYou would just go ahead and do whatever you want.ā Law sighed.
āYup!ā Luffy hugged him. āShishishi, but itās nice to know theyāre ok with it.ā He held Lawās hand in his. āIāll fight anyone who says we canāt be together.ā
āI donāt think anyone is that stupidā¦ā Nami smiled at them and went back to cutting out pictures.
Big sis said it would be ok and encouraged me to add, but it got a little lond, sorry. Hope this is okā¦
