Playin’ games while waiting for things.
I’ve only been at this for about 30 minutes and I already adore it and am completely stressed out by my poor typing.

Epistory - Typing Chronicles Provisional Review - I’m Learnding!
When I first spotted Epistory – Typing Chronicles I was already interested. Right from the start the game seemed like an interesting combination of Bastion and Typing of the Dead. In a way it still sort of is, but Epistory does enough to stand out from both games. Now that it’s out…

Gorgeous PC Adventure, Epistory, Now Available
Epistory, an atmospheric adventure with a distinct origami aesthetic, is now available through Steam for Windows, Mac and Linux. The first half of the beautiful game which received an IGF honorable mention for Excellence in Visual Arts was previously available via Early Access, while today marks the debut of the final two chapters. Players guide a girl riding atop a three-tailed red fox on an…

Epistory
Probably the most beautiful and atmospheric game I played all weekend was Epistory
It’s the story of a girl who rode through the land on the back of a giant fox.
Since it’s a story that gets told over and over again, all the art is made to look like origami. The background, the settings, the characters, everything.
The way you progress is by typing. You would hit Tab to enter the menu, then type “Resume” to resume the game. When enemies or obstacles appeared in your path, you would hit “enter” and enter typing mode. Type whatever appears over the enemy fast enough and you can progress.
Go ahead and check it out. I immediately went home and bought it even though it’s still early access.
Epistory is a game about typing words as fast as possible while riding a giant origami fox. End of review.
I’m so bad at the boss fights on Epistory omg
I never knew typing quickly and correctly could give you so much adrenaline holy shit
Do you know what really got me my first boss fight? The only word bug creatures I had dealt with so far were like 5 letters or less words. So when that boss bug word came out and it was like 15-20 letters long… I cursed. Out loud. Very loudly. I can’t even remember what the word was all I remember is panic as the huge thing lumbered towards me in that pit of fiery hell. I think it was a spider too so yikes.
I’ve now had 4 boss fights since then and have gotten to the point where I’m stuck. I’ve tried the current boss fight over ten times and I keep panicking and getting surrounded and killed by like more than ten bug-words coming at me, with usually 2 or 3 of them being boss words.
The boss was Departmentalizing, now I need a dictionary

I didn’t know I could feel so much adrenaline just by typing some words.

There is nothing quite like the panic when you are trying to write “Environmentalists” while your fingers fumble on the keyboard and the demon snake is inches from instakilling you. Also the game is real pretty, makes you believe people can actually make Unity look this nice.

The voice actor. Most calming voice ever. This game is super relaxing until you get a monster with pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis over their head in which case its time to have a heartattack.
