My one greatest desire is to be an actor. And not any actor, I want to be a bad actor. Think Keanu Reeves, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I want to get paid to play dress up and accidentally look down the barrels of cameras, damn it.
The reason your snacks are unsatisfying is that you need both carb and protein.
Carb starts your engine, protein keeps it going.
No carb, engine don’t start. No protein, engine dies out fast.
Easy carb add on:
Cookie
Fruit (canned or fresh)
Chips
Piece of bread
Popcorn
Crackers
Easy protein add on:
Nuts
Spoonful of nut butter
Cheese
Roasted chickpea snacks
Glass of milk (dairy or non dairy)
Small canned sausages or similar
Sugar in there.
I am pleased by people messaging me telling me that after adding a carb or protein to their snacks or meals they feel more satisfied all day. Yes, my plan is working. People are getting through their days with less hangry.

Has anyone thought of a bloodymary/iron Mary au where Simon doesn’t show up until after grace’s passing? Imagine the eridians spend grace’s entire lifetime on erid building and perfecting the biodome, pouring in tons of time and resources to make it absolutely perfect. He lives quite a while considering everything he went though (space trauma, starvation, malnutrition, ect) and eventually dies, leaving the dome empty. The eridians can’t bear to take it down. But it’s kind of a shame to have this perfect habitat and all this human knowledge with no one to appreciate it with anymore.
Couple decades later, however it happens, Simon blips into this universe after the events of iron lung. Maybe he washes ashore, maybe eridians receive distress signals and pick him up, whatever. Point is they have a new human to take care of. This one is in way worse shape, and there are gaps in their knowledge of human biology that make fixing him harder than it should be, and oh if only Grace were here he could help.
For the purpose of this au, Simon is speaking Korean, so the whole language learning process would have to start all over again. In the meantime while he’s exploring the biodome, trying to figure out how and WHY he lived, where he is, is this all real, typical crossover plots. But he’s also living beside the ghost of a man. (No literal ghosts) Grace isnt there to explain things, to comfort him, to act as an anchor to normality/humanity in all this. But there’s evidence of him everywhere. Both as the universe’s hero who saved the stars, and as Ryland Grace, schoolteacher and regular guy. There are songs and statues and memorials, but there’s also the fox figurine up on a shelf and an old pair of shoes with the laces replaced with cables and surfaces in the house worn from use.
Maybe in the early days, Simon destroys stuff as an outlet. He’s scared, angry, throws a chair. It’s just a room. But later once he starts learning about Grace, he thinks back to how much evidence was destroyed without thinking. When he’s scrambling for any little scrap of info he can get about the only other human being within several light years, every loss is a big one.
He’s grieving this guy he never even knew
Hey you! Yeah, you!
You need to grab 1-3 friends and play Planet Crafter on Steam RIGHT NOW.
My brother is a lifelong gamer and I am... newer to the hobby (and significantly worse). For YEARS we have tried to find a game that we both enjoy, find interesting, and allows us to work together. I loved Subnautica 2 but he thought it was one-dimensional. He loved Raft and I thought it was too repetitive. He liked Lethal Company but im too easily startled.
Until we found Planet Crafter.
Most games in this genre do a bad job of pacing. Usually, in my experience, they are too slow. *cough cough* Breathedge *cough cough*. Usually the game quickly becomes repetitive (Raft), is too hard to figure out (Subnautica 2), or survival just doesn't feel rewarding, like youre not really building to anything bigger (Breathedge).
Planet Crafter is a masterclass in how to balance all of these elements, and has something for everyone. My brother loves base-building and making beautiful things, and he gets to do that. I love organizing (all storage containers come with an "item frame" to display contents and a "sign" to name it whatever you want). The game gives obvious checkpoints, tangible rewards for achieving them, and gives percentage point accurate updates on how close you are.
Though the most concrete evidence, in my opinion, isn't even the overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. Its the fact that the 50% completed achievement (the achievement which 50% of the playerbase has accomplished) took my brother and I 15 HOURS to complete, and neither of us are new to video games in any sense.
This means that 50% OR MORE of people who have ever opened this game proceeded to spend 15+ hours on Planet Crafter. For a $25 game (when not on sale)? Thats less than $2/hour for endless laughter and some of the best memories you'll make in gaming.
And, you can't forget, my favorite part of the game: when you construct a car, you can press "F4" to get "unstuck". In practice, what this does is raise your car slightly. If you spam F4 enough, you can make your car fly.
It is always faster to just drive places. But, a flying car is really fun, and I haven't found a limit to how high you can fly yet.
So I've recently become obsessed with Cyberpunk 2077. My big gripe is with the player character's name -- V. It's so dumb. Its giving "twelve year old thinking they're edgy". This ts.
I know there were constraints with choosing the player character name.
1. Needs to be preset (as in, the player doesn't pick their own name) because of all the other characters saying their name in dialogues
2. Needs to be gender-neutral (so nobody needs to record 2 sets of dialogue -- just one)
3. Needs to sound cool and fit in with the whole deal of "cyberpunk" and "future" and "whatever".
May i suggest -- Viper? We already have "Silverhand" and "Rogue" and whatever. "V" is apparently the first letter of the player character's first name, so Viper could be similarly derived. Literally anything other than V. Im begging.
Like, V is just so dumb. Its a single letter. I hate it when my character answers the phone with, "it's V". Ughhhh. And realistically half the people you meet would think your name is "B" or "Bee" or "Dee" or literally anything thats [consonant] [e sound]. Ughhhhhhhh
Sometimes people are like "oooh you like coltlandgentry? Isn't that just angst? Dont you just looooove angst?"
Im like Yes. Also No. Imo there WAS angst and then the eridians built a wormhole back to Earth so they could all be reunited and a happy family. And Rocky and Adrian and Jody and Claire are all there.
Nobody:
Me: (to myself) (in the mirror) you're stable, yeah?
enough toxic masculinity I'm ready for salubrious mexicanity. I'm ready for a social movement that encourages (esp straight, cis) men to indulge in things that make them more joyful, emotionally healthy, and help them strengthen not core muscles but core compassionate communication skills.
I cannot stress enough that I have a minor speech impediment and voice-to-text decided it was more likely that I said "mexicanity" than "masculinity." I was not in fact alluding to the potential healing benefits of being Mexican. I am however perfectly content with this post being about that instead.
many thanks to those who thought this post was about gomez addams. from this moment forward, tis
Anyways if rian johnson decides to create a knives - out- benoit -blanc franchise james bond-style in which every movie is one murder mystery with a fun twist and rich people getting fucked, and that becomes a cult classic and every few years they recast benoit blanc (as if anyone could ever come close to daniel craig) to continue making movies I just wanna say that not only I would watch all of them, I would become the number one fan. My grandchildren will hear about how I watched the first movie in theaters
too tired to make a post with real words so here's a meme
“Having sex is what makes us human!” Ohohoho buddy wait until you find out about literally every other animal species
It's mermay Monday again 🤭
“Stop exploring the ocean!” = ❌🚫❎👎
“Stop letting rich people explore it for their own vanity and instead fund scientists who know what they’re doing down there, are exploring it for the actual betterment of humanity and their understanding of the world we live in, and won’t go down there in subs that havn’t been peer-reviewed to hell and back” = 🤘💙🆗✔️
