★ Age range! Q. They’re still a kid. They’re barely even a teenager, but they’ve already been through so much, sometimes they need to go back even younger, to before so much happened, or at least when things were simpler. They usually drop down to 3-6! Right before they joined the mafia, the last few years of their life that were unburdened by the weight of their organization. Dazai joined around the same time as them! So he could sort of tell what they were like before joining, he knows how they used to act in that age range and that can help!

𓍯 Anddddd here we go properly. For starters! I’m not writing current day. Sorry. I cannot see these two having a relationship really in current day. Dazai’s slowly reconnecting with the mafia, but I can’t see him reconnecting with Q. So this will be like Age 15/Dark Era timeframe! I think Mori discovered that Q regressed and he simply did not have the time to deal with it, so he gave Dazai a mission! Dazai didn’t find out because Q wanted him to know. Dazai did not want to take on the caregiver role. These are crucial points that define their relationship so please keep them in mind

★ I don’t think Q was really upset Dazai was told about their regression? They didn’t even really know what was going on, but having it spoken about so openly convinced them it was normal fairly easily. The downside of having personal information shared without your permission, especially that young? Q doesn’t learn that it should be uncomfortable. They grow to be far too reliant on Dazai, telling him absolutely everything. And on the flip side, they expect this from Dazai in return. And they get very upset when Dazai hides things

𓍯 Q is extremely emotional. They rarely think logically (which frustrates Dazai to no end). This means emotional outbursts are very common! Tantrums on the floor, kicking and screaming. Happily tackling Dazai in a hug. Screeching sobs. Running laps around a room in excitement. The whole spectrum. The lack of logical thinking makes them harder to cheer up, especially for Dazai who finds the logical solutions to things. Dazai’s solution to these outbursts he doesn’t want to deal with is usually just to let Q self regulate. This sometimes means he will. Just leave them in a room unsupervised. He’s gotten in trouble a few times with Mori because Q’s ended up hurt

★ Q really likes using their ability to play. It’s so fun! They can play with people like they’re little dollie’s! This is of course a large part of why Dazai was given the job, he won’t be affected. Q however struggles to understand this, especially in such a young headspace. They quite often set things up to harm themselves in ways that would usually trigger their ability and they get incredibly upset when it doesn’t work. Dazai has started bringing a container of bandages with him whenever he has to watch them. By the time he leaves the bandages will be on Q and the container will hold bloody razor blades

𓍯 Here let me kiss the brick after I threw it, have some fluff. Brain teasers! Dazai likes to share the kind of games he likes to play. Q is slow to learn, and almost never wins, but they do try. Really hard. It keeps them relatively quiet which Dazai is thankful for. They will get bored after an hour or so but that’s an hour of peace still. Dazai will also genuinely try to help them! He teaches them good strategies. Of course, he only teaches strategies he knows how to defeat, but still good nonetheless!

★ RIGHT. NICKNAMES. Uhh Dazai uses generally dismissive nicknames? Like he’s being kind of rude but it’s not in an overly hostile way or anything. He calls Q things like “Brat” “Runt” or just “Kid”. He’s not being awful or anything, but there’s definitely no warmth behind the words. Q really likes saying Dazai’s name! “Mis’er Dazai” “Zai” They just have fun and say what they can! They have called Dazai “Dada” before, not even as a fatherly title, the syllables were just fun to repeat. Dazai left the room and didn’t come back for a week and they learned not to do that again

Not explicitly stated within the headcanons, but can be interpreted this way? I kinda see Q as a permaregressor. It makes sense in canon like c’mon. They’re only a year younger than Kyouka and they act way more immature. Asagiri accidentally made a one year age gap have that much of a gap in maturity? I don’t believe it
