There's been a lot of hubbub lately about Kabbalah being a "closed" practice, and saying that Christians/Pagans/other Gentiles shouldn't touch it because they don't know what they're doing. Anyway, local Jew here to share a helpful guide all about how to practice Kabbalah as a Gentile! Enjoy. :)
protestants: god is not an absent father! talk to god like a friend! god is always with you! bring your problems to god, no matter how small! it’s not at all weird to call god “daddy!”
catholics: god is far too important to give a fuck about your lost keys or your algebra exam. please address your petty concerns to one of god’s ten thousand holy secretaries. if it’s really important, consider asking his mom.
catholics can’t get in touch with god because he’s always on the phone with a protestant
“In Jewish thought, a sin is not an offense against God, an act of disobedience. A sin is a missed opportunity to act humanly. The verb to sin in Hebrew is also used in the sense of ‘missing the target.’ When God created us free to choose between good and bad, He also gave us the capacity to know when we had chosen wrongly”

#HAPPY GOOD FRIDAY
White atheists are so annoying god bless.
Like okay. Seriously. Treating every religion as "equally harmful to POC and LGBTQ+ people" is 1) racist and 2) tone deaf and plain wrong. Just because you had a bad run in with an evangelical or catholic church community does not mean that Every Organized Religion (or Every Religion) is bad.
Painting all religion as harmful and bad is point blank racist, islamophobic, and antisemetic. You, an ex-christian white queer athiest, cannot possibly know the fucking details in every religion when it comes to LGBTQ+ people. You cannot. You likely don't even have the basest knowledge of what the Torah, or the Qu'ran or any other religious text that isn't the christian fucking bible says in detail about queer and trans people. Hell, I doubt you even realize that the christian bible isn't as vitrolicly homophobic and transphobic as modern christianity paints it.
Christianity was used as a colonialist tool to subjugate and oppress anyone who was not christian. Hate it for that reason. Do not start start painting brown and black dominated churches and religions as the same as white (American) christianity, because you cannot and do not know about how religion and race interact.
White people can reblog, do not fucking talk though. Keep your mouths shut, atheist or not. Also don't use this post to preach for paganism/wicca or whatever your religion is. Your comment will be hidden/deleted and you will be blocked.
Maybe misusing the name of God isn’t so much about saying the shallow words, “Oh my God,” as it is about using the name of God to justify discrimination, oppression, injustice, racism, slavery, xenophobia, poverty, sexism, islamophobia, ableism, homophobia, war, & the list can go on.
Nobody ever talk to me about the catholics going off with stained glass again because not one window of jesus has ANYTHING on the Nasir al-Mulk Mosque
Click through this link i’m losing my mind its gorgeous
i absolutely love seeing people’s reactions to the pink mosque 😂
the style is called “orsi” and is unique to iran
and stained glass traces its roots to south west and west asia, developed in ancient times and well before the europeans and the roman empire saw it and said “hey i like that, i’ll be leaving with it”
and while we’re talking about mosques in iran, may i present persian mirror work in a different mosque in the same city?
every time someone tries to talk to me about western churches and architecture and their superiority to that of “third world countries” i have to laugh a little at the ignorance, especially when our mosques look like this
What Jesus Wants: for humans to be considered better than dogs?? better than RATS?? better than snails?!!??
What Satan Wants: all life forms are good, wonderful; perfect
My favorite part of the Bible is when it says that whales are God’s second favorite creation after humans
its passover tonight i can finally post this meme

light was such a loser cuz he didnt just google the 100 richest people and start writing down names
how would you feel if you woke up tomorrow and find out exactly 100 of the world’s richest people died of heart attacks at exactly noon universal time. can you imagine the theories. light is absolutely a loser for not doing this
[ID: Reply from elumind that says: “Do the richest one every week and see next in line lose their shit and try to get rid of the money. I think of this almost daily.” /end ID.]
The notes on this are wild because people are legit passionately arguing about why this wouldn’t work. No one said it would work. They said he’s a loser for not doing it.
There has to be a *pattern* to it, though, to really get their attention. Like it has to be the same time of day, the same day, each week.
The first one stands up and draws a massive A on the nearest wall before dropping dead.
Exactly one week later, Thursday at 3:13 PM, the next one looks up, blank-faced, and uses a car key to scratch the word ‘CAMEL’ into the side of their car. There are memes.
The week after that, in the middle of an interview, the third victim turns to the camera and says ‘THROUGH.’ He drops dead.
The man who writes “EYE” is in a private underground bunker. Enough radiation shielding to survive a direct nuclear strike. There are fifteen guards posted at the door- surveillance confirms not one of them left their post.
By the time “NEEDLE” is scratched into the upholstery of a private yacht, people are starting to give money away.
A twitter thread by Caitlin J. Stout @CaitlinJStout from Feb 25 2021 reading,
A friend asked the other day what percentage of people I went to youth group with “deconstructed” and what percentage remained evangelical. As I thought about it, I realized that for the most part it was the kids who took their faith the most seriously who eventually walked away.
Those of us who tearfully promised that we would follow Jesus anywhere eventually followed him out the door. The Queer kids, more than anyone, learned exactly what it meant to work out our faith with fear and trembling.
They told us to read the Bible and take it seriously and then mocked us for becoming “social justice warriors.”
Now they’re warning us not to deconstruct to the point of meaninglessness.
But they took a chisel to God until he fit in a box. They “deconstructed” the concept of love until it allowed them to tolerate sexual abuse, celebrate white supremacy, and look away from kids in cages.
Some of us got to where we are because we took it all to heart. We took the most foundational elements of our faith to their natural conclusions. Folks who deconstruct evangelicalism aren’t drop-outs; they’re graduates.
A late night interpretation of Jesus’ thoughts about rich people by Sensitive Mark.
While we’re at it, don’t forget that one time that Jesus saw predatory lending practices going down in the temple and he actually got violent. Yes. Jesus got violent. Over predatory lending practices.
Throwing tables and threatening people with a whip. Jesus was super pissed.
And that part is consistent across all four of the Gospels. Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John vary in a lot of places, but they’re consistent on the money changers story. Also, the paintings that this inspired are pretty rad.
99% of the time, Jesus was all “love thy neighbor” and “turn the other cheek” and “if someone asks you to walk a mile with them, walk two,” but where usury was concerned, he’d straight up kick your ass.
Jesus: “Be chill. We should all be chill. But also don’t lend money to people and charge them ridiculously high interest rates. Don’t do that. Especially not when people borrow money for the purpose of doing the right thing and making themselves better people. I really fucking hate that. Seriously, just don’t.”
*smashcut to 2016*
Me, living in a society that is intrinsically founded upon Christian doctrine and beliefs: “Student loan debt and credit card interest rates, am I right?”
In addition the the “Jesus got violent” bit: Jesus didn’t just grab a whip and start beating on people.
No, he went outside and made a whip first and then went back in and started flipping tables and beating on people.
MATTHEW 20:28 AND THE SON OF MAN CAME NOT TO BE SERVED BUT TO SERVE (THESE HANDS)
I’d also like to point out that turning the cheek and walking an extra mile were forms of uncivil obedience for those under Roman rule. The way you smacked someone (which hand you use and which cheek you strike) was based on the status of the person being hit and what you’re trying to hit them for. Roman soldiers were also not allowed by law to have someone carry their possessions for longer than 1 mile, so they’d get in trouble if you insisted on carrying their stuff for two miles
