you’re not a good person just because you love soup
whats youre fucking damage
If you had a child by choice, you:
signed up for an autistic child
signed up for a trans child
signed up for a lgbq+ child
signed up for a mentally ill child
signed up for a disabled child
signed up for a child with "conditions"
signed up for a rebellious child
signed up for a kid. in any way, shape, or form of being, it's your child, and you signed up for it.
And you are not:
the victim in any of these fucking situations for gods sake
whoop there it is
Best job advice I’ve gotten: The job is not going to love you back.
best job advice I’ve gotten: dont give reasons for not being available certain days/times, just say you’re not available. If they really push it then say it’s “extremely personal” and leave it at that.
minimum wage jobs love to call you in on your days off if they think you’ve got nothing going on.
Alex Haahaard (they/them) on twitter:
"at some point we should probably have a conversation about how the normalization and glorification of physical exhaustion during medical training contributes to producing deeply ableist doctors.
Like a) it makes the field completely inaccessible to many disabled people whose knowledge is deeply needed there and b) it supports a deeply f*cked up worldview in which pain and fatigue are things you can and should "just push through"
Gorilla tactical rolls and then uses sand attack

I love this moment so much. What I love most about this is how this moment might have to come to pass. Did Binkley and his team have a moment in preprogramming where they just went “Hey, what if?” “Yeah, let’s build it and see what happens” and they surprised everyone in tech with this, or did Tommy or Groff go “Hey. What if in this moment when he stomps we snap to blue” “yeah, give me three minutes. Groups 600 + 700 + 41 select active at 5/68. Record cue 420 time 0.” And I love those conversations where someone just has a crazy what if and it sticks.

pressed against the heating vent with TWO big pillows
Y’know… the longer I live in this world, the more I think cats have it figured out, man. I’m an adult with my own house, in charge of my own schedule, with an afternoon off, and am I going to spend it on top of two big pillows in front of a heating vent? No, I’m not, and why? Because I am not as wise as a friggin cat.
fellas, this is your intellectual aspiration

Learning Guy Fieri is actually an excellent human being is what taught me to cool it a little on the cringe culture pile-ons. Like, this is a man who performs gay weddings, donates pretzel machines to schools for their fundraisers, gives a shitload of money to restaurant workers, and apparently lives on a ranch with 400 goats and a flock of peacocks. So who cares if he has wild spiky hair and draws flames on everything? He’s a good egg, and if making crazy hamburgers and shopping at hot topic makes him happy, then let him be happy! And if other people like “cringey” things, so what? Are they kind? Are they caring? Do they have several hundred goats? That’s what matters!
Wait Guy Fieri is considered cringe? I just legit thought he has a cool aesthetic:
“Cringe” is just an excuse for people who bullied others as kids to keep bullying people into adulthood. Fuck cringe.
the humanity of the AIDS crisis: the ward by gideon mendel
colorized by me
Never forget 🏳️🌈😔
OP you did a beautiful job colourising these shots
Notice how OP says “colorized?”
I want to remind you this was the eighties. THE EIGHTIES. Color cameras existed. Color VIDEO CAMERAS existed.
Someone put these in black and white to make them seem long ago and far away.
OP is returning them to their proper place in history: ONLY TWO GENERATIONS AGO.
that’s not fair to gideon mendel, the photographer who took those photos in 1993. he took them in black-and-white even though color cameras were available, yes, but not to “make them seem long ago and far away”. he was photographing in black-and-white so they would be taken seriously.
mendel is still documenting and lifting up the voices of people who live with hiv/aids in the project “through positive eyes”.
if mendel hadn’t taken these photographs, we wouldn’t have a record of these patients and the ends of their lives at all. it was extremely unusual for aids wards to let photographers in, and the patients took a risk in letting mendel photograph them and their loved ones.
rest in peace, andré, steven, and john.
finding out that the beginning scenes in Elf were all shot in forced perspective to make Buddy seem giant makes this movie even better kLJASLKDFJ
