Our name is Toffee or Arthur, we use it/purr/she/he collectively! Yes, collectively, as we are a system :o3 we're a minor, and are taken by our beloved girlfriend <3

Genderqueer and abrosexual collectively due to the fact we have a whole array of identities here, lol

We used to be primarily an alterhuman-based account, though we're more so just a fandoms reblogger and art dumper now, lol. Still alterhuman, though!

We're physically nonhuman, if you have an issue, I suggest just blocking us. Same with literally everything else. We also have been diagnosed with AuDHD, tourettes, and asthma, and we know we have a lot of chronic pain, so you might see us post about those from time to time

Our special interest is cats, ask us about cat genetics and we can and will ramble for literal hours. We're currently fixated on Transformers as well (going on since December 23rd, 2025!). Though other major interests include (but is not limited to): Warrior Cats, Minecraft, Roblox Horror, Collinlock16, Favremysabre, The Mechanisms, Rain World, Alan Becker, VSMP, Empires SMP, and so much more that I genuinely cannot put it all here

I take moodboard and drawing requests. I also do commissions. While my drawing requests will be quick doodles, my commissions will be a lot more detailed!

Do you think there was a formal plan in place to ensure that when the Hail Mary’s beetles returned many years later, there would be a sufficient group of specifically-trained experts to receive them? Surely it would’ve been foolish to just assume that enough of the original Petrova Task Force would survive climate-related upheaval and social/political/economic hardships and the simple unrelenting passage of time, or that Earth’s overall scientific community would maintain a comparable level of preparedness to what was available at launch time.

So maybe Dr. Lokken and Dr. Lamai and Dimitri Koromov and Steve Hatch (smh, Weir, did you think up “Irina Petrova” and “Eva Stratt” and decide that those two fulfilled your entire quota of full female character names?) and all the rest were required to not only finish out the Hail Mary project pre-launch, but also to acquire and fully train two or three successors apiece?

The next generation of scientists who’d be running the show by the time the beetles came back would not only have to stay at the top of their game in terms of cutting-edge advancements, but they’d also need to have some familiarity with the level of knowledge and tech that the Hail Mary and its crew possessed at launch time, so they could work with the data sent with the beetles and accurately interpret the information in the context of the knowledge base that Grace and Ilyukhina and Yao had been working from.

It's Latin for "nearly" or "almost", and it does pop up in a few other English words. "Penultimate", "penumbra" and "peninsula" are the only ones I can think of that you'd even remotely expect to encounter in everyday speech, though; the rest are all medical or mathematical jargon.
