When I first made an Arcana blog, the first thing I did was make a perfume/scent headcanon for the characters and wrote a few short fics where Hathe made a custom perfume for a few apprentices as that’s one of her hobbies she tries to monetize later on.

I feel like I’ve not been able to do much with that recently so if you like this post, I’ll get Hathe to come up with a custom perfume or cologne for your apprentice or oc and I’ll list the notes, etc.

So here’s batch number one!

Regardless of whether you’ve stumbled across her magic shop/tea room/perfumerie yourself, looking for a custom perfume, or whether a special someone has commissioned something for you, Hathe makes it her mission to get to know the wearer best she can: where they’ll wear it, what they like to do, what sort of person they are and what they want to portray to others, your body chemistry. If you’ve got a few extra coins, she’ll even create custom formulas for other seasons, day or night, special occasions. One scent that smells great on one person may not smell quite as sweet on another. It’s all down to body chemistry. Perfume isn’t something that’s one size fits all so you can feel reassured to know that you won’t smell your custom perfume on some stranger out in the market or passing you on a gondola on the canals. Hathe will outright refuse any request to imitate someone else’s perfume. She ended up down this route in her exploration of memory. Scent is a powerful trigger when it comes to memory. Catching the scent of a gardenia can remind you of your mother before she gets ready for the evening, the scent of honey cakes remind you of the autumn evenings of your childhood, jasmine reminds you of a certain countess’ evening visits. It’s can unlock memories you didn’t know you still clung onto. Somewhere along the way … Hathe started having fun with it.

Whether you ordered it yourself or receiving it as a surprise gift, in a few weeks time, you can expect a visit from Hathe or her assistant Kani. You don’t have to tip them …but if you want to discreetly leave a plate of snacks … you know … doing deliveries around the city can really take it out of you HINT HINT
